This review is specifically related to the on site cafe. What a great addition to the shop! Nestled naturally in with the rest of the store, surrounded by the Farm Apothecary and herbs grown on site. We had an oat milk latte and Arnold Palmer. It was early in the morning so the tea and lemonade had not yet been prepared for the day, but Becky was happy to make it for us. Super friendly and welcoming environment. Great selection of any coffee/espresso drink you could want, with the option to add a variety of healthy shots or CBD if you choose. Light pastry options were also available. Plenty of seating surrounded by their amazing plants and flowers.

Sean, Garret and his crew of two guys came over yesterday and saved the day. The rain this year brought Major damage to my property. With three more inches of rain coming today they corrected all the issues just in the nick of time. I can sleep at night now. I highly recommend Sean. He's easy to works with, did a great job and at a reasonable price.

They have beautiful houseplants and seasonal decoration here, as well as tasty coffee and other drinks. There’s also a super cute black lab!

They have choices of mulch and they can deliver if needed. Top soil, gardening tools etc They have a indoor cafe type area that offers coffee tea etc. Friendly and helpful staff. A+

Great firewood! Bought a cord in September and its very dry and burns better than else I've ever bought. Definitely will be getting from here next year.

Fire wood was $200 for half cord, it was advertised as seasoned and <20% moisture. I have only been successful burning around 1/4 of the wood I have used. Most of it sounds like boiling water as the moisture foams out of the end of the pieces after I put it on white hot coals of a fire started with past seasons wood. I let the wood air out since the beginning of November without much change. The excessive moisture aside, many if the pieces of wood are too big to burn, they only char and are left behind after the fire burns out. If the wood is actually seasoned then it must be done in large piles on the ground and I must have gotten the last of the wood that sat in water.I called for clarification on 2 different occasions starting a month ago and was asked to leave my number both times without any follow up to date.Definitely not worth the premium price.

Awesome farm with beautiful plants, CBD products, and tons of amazing little books and candles and tinctures, etc. The coffee is great as well!

The owners have done a great job with the inside of this nursery. You can go in and buy a coffee or tea while you shop inside. There is an array of trinkets and gifts.Their plant selection is varied, and I did purchase three plants on this particular day, which amounted to $52. Their prices are a bit steep, in my opinion. It was a bit of a shock to have to pay $0.75 to put my three plants inside of a cardboard carrier. For $52, I felt I should have been given a carrier to put the plants in to bring to my car.

Really appreciate the staff. Very helpful and professional. We've bought a few yards of sand and each time we have been loaded very skillfully. Prices are very good too.The best part, of course, is Cuddy greeting us at the door each time we have visited the store.

Love this store. They price their exotic indoor plants fairly and not at the current ridiculous market prices. I’m gonna keep coming back here forever!!!

I just purchased 10 yards of top soil from Running Brook via Facebook Marketplace, and the entire experience was excellent! The top soil was delivered very quickly and exactly on time, and it was very high quality. I look forward to doing business with them again!

What a fun spot! Unexpected coffee bar that was fabulous! I had a great Mexican Hot Chocolate and my husband had an espresso that he felt was the best he's had in the U.S.! Great little gift shop, loose tea leaf selection as well as hand crafted items and CBD products.

Wonderful people but my issue is the firewood- it is seasoned and cut to a good length for a wood fireplace but most of the pieces are Enormous in width. Literally I can only carry one piece at a time because they are so heavy which is ridiculous. I'm a fit person so if you are elderly or not strong I would not recommend this supplier -or perhaps have someone cut the pieces in half for you. For the price of the cord I would have expected better quality control.

I purchased gorgeous brown mulch from Running Brook farms and had it delivered. I love doing business with these people. They are very knowledgeable, super helpful and friendly. I would 100% recommend. I've also shopped in the greenhouse and their store. They have a beautiful collection of plants and gifts.

Very nice people but I just received a cord of firewood and I'm very disappointed in it. The pieces are huge! I have to spilt more then half the cord into smaller pieces. The length is fine but it is like the log was just split in half. The wood also doesn't seem to be seasoned. It doesn't like to burn and that is a little problem when it comes to firewood. If i have known the firewood was going to be like this I would have never ordered it and I would have just cut and split my own. Also there were 2×4s in the cord as will. For $300 I was expecting better quality.

I don't ordinarilly take the time to write reviews, but I am doing so now because the super excellent customer service I recieved recently was above and beyond the call of duty. I have bought very high quality products from Running Brook Farms for years. The mulch and compost products are custom made by them and are the best quality you can get!!! Their vegetables (check out the heirlooms you can't get elsewhere) and perennial flower garden plants are amazing quality and they have a selection that is unique (the house plants and succulents in the greenhouse are a special resource...very cool). Thank you Running Brook Farms for your quality and friendliness. You guys are the best.

I just purchased 20 yards of mulch from Running Brook, and the entire experience was excellent! The mulch was delivered very quickly and exactly on time, and it was very high quality and at a much lower price than any other local source. On top of that, the staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional. I highly recommend Running Brook!

Recently hired Running Brook Farms to do some site work. Sean & Zach were total professionals, the entire project was seamless. They operated their machines with with careful precision along neighboring property lines. Their price was very fair. And the project came out even better than expected. Looking forward to having them back soon for phase 2 and new driveway installation in the very near future. Highly Recommended.

I ordered 20 tons of 3/4 inch processed stone for our driveway. We usually order directly from Tilcon but I thought I would order locally this time around. Delivery came but incorrect material was left in my driveway. I was pretty upset when I brought the samples of what was delivered and Becky immediately apologized and asked how she could rectify the mistake. I told her I wanted the material removed and new stone delivered. She sent someone out to take a look, he said his crew would be there Monday morning to take care of it. Crew showed up Monday morning as promised removed product, smoothed out driveway and brought in new stone. Mistakes happen, its how you correct it is what matters. I will definitely do business with Running Brook in the future.

They offer wood Seasoned, Cut, Split and delivered for $300.00. We ordered a cord to be delivered. It was delivered approximately at the time they said it would be here. The boy delivering, was unable to back up our driveway. (I figured some adults don't know how to drive either)He proceeded to dump the load of wood in the middle of our driveway at the bottom. No-one could drive in or out. We had to move the wood immediately to get it out of the driveway. I was appalled at what was dumped in our driveway!! It wasn't just wood, it was a ton of a slushy sand and snow mixture, we had to shovel through to find the wood. Got a lot of splintered pieces and bark, and Logs. Oh the Logs were cut, but not split. While having to sift through the slushy mess, we got soaked. By the time we sifted through the mess, re-shoveled our driveway and got the wood moved and piled, realized we received about a half cord of wood, and probably a half cord of crappy snow!We called the next day to let them know we were shorted, and how messy it was, we were told that they would bring us more wood later that day. NOTHING!!Called the next day, realizing this wood is not fully seasoned, soaked through and not very burnable, we asked for our money back and for them to come get what they delivered. Scott told us that he would have more wood brought to us on Saturday the 7th of February, and then hung up on us.NOTHING AGAIN!!We paid cash for this delivery, which is how we are told to pay. You know you wouldn't mind doing the extra work if the wood was decent and the proper amount is delivered. But this is not the case, and it seems they don't think nothing on making it right. I am extremely unhappy with my experience with them, their product and their customer service is awful!I want it made right! Just so they know and the public knows, I did take pictures of the mess they delivered, and will use them legally. Consumer rip off is illegal.

I don't write many reviews, but I saw these guys advertising on Craigslist again today. I bought 10 yards topsoil and 2 yards manure to be delivered from these guys 2 years ago. It arrived and was an unfinished soil/compost mix that was still registering internal temps over 110 degrees which would kill my seeds as that is too warm for every type of seed(lettuce max out around 90-95 degrees). I didn't get any manure at all and it was full of an exorbitant amount of plastic and garbage. I called and sent pictures of the temp probe and the poor quality of the soil which had large chunks of wood and a disproportionate amount of sand. They said I would be refunded the full amount, but they would not remove a nearly full dump truck load(more than I ordered) from my driveway. I had to use the soil in my raised beds and it performed poorly the first two years and required a lot of extra nutrients to make up for the unfinished compost and large amount of wood. I grew up in a farming town, went to an Ag school, and both my parents have professional experience and training in most aspects of agriculture and are certified Master Gardeners through Uconn. I now have been stuck fixing this soil and lost out on nearly 3 years of proper gardening, untold pounds of food, and numerous hours of work to just get to the point I should have been 3 seasons ago. I was stuck with a large amount of soil I didn't want to use, but what else could I do? Good luck with your gardens and lawns, but I don't think I would use these guys.

I had ordered 2 cord of wood for 240 last year, which I told was a good deal. So this year I call Scott to order the same and he said the price was 275 and Only if I ordered 3 cord he would give me for 220/ each cord. I agreed only to come home and see that they had sent me less wood. My family and I have used our wood stove for 10 years and I know how much a 2 cord of looks like because we pile it in our basement every year. So I called Scott and he said he would send someone to measure which never happened and then they promise me 1/2 cord with my next order. I called in to place my order and Scott had called me to confirm saying 2-1/2 for 500 and I agreed. Now I get a call saying no 550. Bottom line is that I haven’t had a good experience with them from day one. And my business is not going to them anymore

Running Brook Farm, is a family run business that was very helpful in working with us to pick out proper plant material for our new landscape project. Pricing is very reasonable and I would highly recommend them to friends and family. Becky, Scott and the whole team have been a pleasure to do business with and I look forward to doing more in the future.- R. Harrison
