All the employees at this store need a tune up. They are clueless about the meaning of good customer service. They are unwilling to help with anything and if they do, they do it with an obvious bad disposition, as if they are doing you a favor, they don't even care to hide it. They have a NASTY attitude. They do not thank you for your business and they have no appreciation for the customers. They chit chat secretly amongst themselves by the register laughing at other customers that just had left and speaking badly about them. The store manager is the rudest. She is nasty to elders and Latino people. I guess she is leading by example.

Instead of washing the floors after closing, the employees at this store always wash the floors while they are still open. If you struggle to get there after work to arrive around 445 , 15 minutes before closing, they treat you like a nuisance. They don't want you to walk around. They don't want you there at all. They complain about you out loud without any regard. If you try to speak to the manager, forget about it. She hates her job. She should not be working with the public ever. I am never shopping there again. I am taking my business elsewhere. Who needs to deal with these Debbie downers. Not me for sure.

By far the best hardware store in the region. Amazingly high stock levels and helpful staff. Always fun to wander around the store. The things you find! Great experience and nice people too.

If I could give the Ace Hardware store in Kent, CT zero stars, I would. That store, has the most unhappy, frustrated and racist staff members ever, poorly trained by the business owner that justifies their employees’ abusive manners due to the fact that they have “personal problems”. After all, they are a reflection of him. If you are not white, they will mistreat you and make a big deal out of nothing, even if you ask a simple question, they will raise their voice and embarrass you in front of everyone. If you happen go to the store 5’ before closing, just to pay for something that you will pick up from outside (which takes 2 minutes) , they will smile at you and INVITE you in to pay for the goods, to later on complain about it. Ungrateful hypocrites. Me and my family have been loyal customers for a few years because we believe in supporting local businesses, but enough is enough. These people are verbally abusive and they have no clue about the meaning of polite and the meaning of diversity in a mainly white neighborhood. Not a good place to shop, if you want to be treated with respect, take your business elsewhere.

Excellent hardware store! The staff is very friendly and helpful. (They once went into the basement to pull out a hose spray handle for me when I needed one in January—the definitely go above and beyond.) For a small space they stock a large inventory and are happy to special order something for you if they don’t carry it. Love that they’re a Benjamin Moore paint retailer, too. Kent wouldn’t be as great and convenient of a town without ACE!P.S. The two cats that live in the store, Harley and Nugget, are always a hit with my son, too. Shoutout to Shelby for luring Nugget out of the basement with catnip on several occasions for my son’s viewing pleasure. 😂

Awesome ace hardware! Full selection, well stocked, and will happily order anything you need that’s not on their floor!Here’s the thing - if you’re going to be a miserable, entitled customer who takes their problems out on everyone else, don’t whine in a review when someone doesn’t get pushed around by you. Be a decent, kind human being and you’ll have a great experience! Life’s tough enough so quit making your problems the employee’s problems.

Update 09/29/2022Still an awesome hardware store! The managers and staff go way above and beyond to help customers and they are extremely knowledgeable. Hubby and I go there frequently and my goodness, they are almost like family! 😊You will be in competent and friendly hands when you go to Kent Ace Hardware!Great store! ALWAYS has what I need! If they dont,they can order it and it comes in pretty quickly. Store is neat, organized and clearly marked to easily find what you need. Employees are so friendly and helpful. After not having had a hardware store in town for a while since the last owners closed, this is a very welcome addition!

The female manager in there needs a different job. She’s rude and snotty to both customers and her staff. Too bad, the woman who helped with the paint (Mary) was lovely. I would just go to a different Ace.

I love these guys! They always have what I need. I’m so grateful that I don’t have to venture far to Mew Milford and go into a massive store. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful and they really go above and beyond in offering a large variety of items for small town shop.
