I had a skunk that my dog had in my mouth. The skunk was bleeding and limping. My dog was fine. I called but there was a automated system so we called the police. They said they would help. They called the animal control. They told me there was nothing they could do. My family and I were appalled by this info and have had this happen not once but twice. I can't believe they can't do anything about this skunk. And on top of this wonderful mess, the skunk was out in daytime when everyone knows skunks are nocturnal. Since late January/early February, neighbor's dog has aggressively come off property, barking & nipping at, but no contact..as of yet...with SEVERAL of us, MULTIPLE times! I requested animal control to drive thru the neighborhood on a regular basis to curb the roaming...I was informed by Caitlin "we don't have time" What exactly, do you have time for Caitlin?! If one cannot perform their job duties, why do they have the job? Was neighbor ticketed, no. I believe Caitlin called neighbor, have no idea what was said. Neighbor now has a puppy, now we have 2 dogs coming into the road. Neighbor finally put in a fence, in September, lol Fence is rated for 30lb dog or less, it's not solid, so now dogs bark aggressively while running back & forth along fence line & fence is improperly installed(fence posts aren't buried). It's only a matter of time before the 2 large, hunting dogs come thru & finally attack. 7 months of this, Why? Lived here for over 20 yrs, never had a problem & sadly, no longer feel safe in my neighborhood.My point? If the ACO's were proactive w/roaming issues, it would greatly reduce- dog bites, dog fights, neighborhood complaints. Try and find the time Caitlin, after all, tax payers pay your salary, you really should try & earn it.

Officer caitlyn is a huge asset with her compassion and assistance our family was relieved of the pain that goes with the circumstances we were dealing with and I could not be more appreciative of her compassion and actions during our recent loss of our pet. Aka dog jail, they definitely have it in for my dog bella. I made the mistake of calling them and it cost me over $300. This is the 2nd time I ve had to deal with them and it cost me a lot of money both times. Hopefully I'll never have to deal with them again.

Lauren was the most wonderful animal control officer I ever met.She came quickly,8:30 at night I might add and was so friendly and professional and informative.She remove a possum from my garage .These people deserve every penny they make .I can't express my thanks enough.And a thank you to the dispatcher who got a hold of her equally as nice .Thanks again for your help:)

The 2 times I've had to deal with torrington animal control they have been rude and given me an attitude for literally no reason, they have called me irresponsible for things that are completley out of my control and they pick and choose when they want to answer the phone. Had they answered the phone they wouldn't be calling me names

I call them and they don't answer, I go to the office and they say that the door is open and the door is locked, do the job well, here they have a little dog tied up outside, crying all the time, and I can't go to anyone.
