Wow! I am blown away at how great this PetSmart is in comparison to Manchester. I used to go to the Manchester store until our groomer transferred here. Manchester was a nice store, but it was always busy no matter what time of the day you go. It was a total nightmare trying to get in and out of that parking lot. But the East Hartford store was a breath of fresh air. It was so easy to get in and out, there were barely any lines...it was great. Will definitely keep driving a little further to come to this one.

I went in last week to bring my dog and the hours for the groomer are listed until 7, but I walked in at 6 and there was not a single person in the grooming salon. There was no note and when I asked the hotel desk, they were unaware that they had left. I just called again this week to try again, the hours are listed at 7 still and the woman who answered the phone said they would not be there last 5:30. I find that a little alarming as most people have jobs and would like to access the the groomer after 5:00. Unfortunately, due to the last 2 interactions I had with the pet smart groomers, including the one before that where they gave me a hard time, I will not be retuning to PetSmart if this is how customers are to be treated. If the groomers are not going to be there and following the hours of service, I do not think they are likely to see any happy customers.

Got a grooming done here a while back, just remembered to post this.I'm never going here again our dog arrived home super anxious and shivering constantly. We had no clue why until we noticed the massive hematoma on the tips of her ears. They snipped off the tips of her ears, stopped the bleeding,cleaned it with peroxide, and just didn't tell us. They ended up being infected and we had to do multiple vet visits to ensure they healed correctly. Infected ears can quickly turn into amputations. There are groomers in ct that are only $10 more and won't leave your dog in the hands of a teenager that took online courses.

I dropped off my baby poodle for a bath and haircut , when I picked up my baby girl she was not the same for a couple of days, she was very nervous and quiet. The service was horrible, they messed up her cut. It was very uneven and she didn’t smell like she just took a bath.. The only reason I brought her there was because her groomer moved out of state unexpectedly and she needed a cut and bath for the holidays and they were the only ones with openings.. Never again.

This place has to have the most helpful bunch of gals in the biz. Go here. Seriously. My baby sugar sure loves her cookies and I love bringing her to the store with me. I cant wait to come back and feel the love. Lol. But seriously? They really are super nice. If you have a pet and need supplies....go here.

I waited over 30 min before they closed just for the manager to get a hamster. He stayed in the office, even when the cashier told him we were waiting.When he came to us, he told us he was closing in 2 min and the lights were just for kids to look at the Hamsters and not for selling them.However, I just left all the items we were gonna get for the hamster. He was more consern about closing even tho we waited over 30 min before that. The cashier was too busy, but he was nice and trying his best.

This is by far the least pet friendly company that I have ever experienced. Over the last three years I started to go to them for grooming, shopping, hotel in hand day care. After investing a ton of time and money with them, in the last year they have taken a huge turn for the worst.After several attempts of making appointments and physically bring my dog to the appointments only to be refused because the groomers clearly do not like their job and found reason after reason to say it would take too long. Yet their appointments are for 4 hours, so you cannot tell me they could not do a simple cut of a 70lb dog in 4 hours. No they would prefer a 20lb dog so they can only take 90 minutes and get the rest of the day off.I tried one more attempt to give them the benefit of the doubt after using another local groomer who was on vacation. Once again, I tried to bring my dog in. They found a reason not to take him yet told me if I come back next week they could take him and then found another reason that time so after three consecutive times of making an appointment, taking the time to bring him in there they found a reason each and every time not to take. Each time hiding behind some policy that had nothing to do with the situation or my dog. They are a corporate first, dog last organization don’t waste your time going there. I never will step foot in their again!

I have been bringing my dog to day camp, once a week. He's looking much happier. He had a buddy of 12 years that had to be put down, he was depressed. This is the best! And now I have been on vacation for 2 weeks. I can't say enough about the people there.Once I went to pick him up. I thought he was happy to see me! LOL He was to see one of the crew in the daycare 🤣

When I came to pick up my dog from the dog hotel after him being there for a week. The lady at care center was completely rude to my wife and I, we approached the desk and there was a costumer in front of us and I told the clerk "good afternoon" when she looked up at us; and she went off, telling us; she was the only one at the desk and we needed to give her a moment (we were not in rush, only excited to pick up our puppy). Also, not a place for pitbull type breeds... I have a an American bully, friendly and energetic puppy not even a year. He was separated from the other dogs before even given a chance. And came back with a trouble rash on his genitals and stomach. As well as high anxiety, I was considering going to their training school... but not anymore😤

This store has the absolute best staff. We bring our dog here for pet items, training, doggy day camp or for an overnight stay, and he used to go to Banfield when it was still in the store (still goes to Banfield but it has since moved). We have never had a bad experience! The staff PetsHotel are wonderful, and his trainer Nicole is the absolute best!

This is my first time coming to this PetSmart location and I was very impressed. All the staff there were very friendly and very helpful and asked me if I even needed help looking for something. They also have a big selection of animals to choose from if you are looking for one they also have three cats when I went here two of them were kittens. I definitely give this place a five-star rating it was very clean inside and very big and lots of stuff to choose from and so many different brands as well. If you love PetSmart like I do and have not been to this location I definitely recommend checking this location out you will be very impressed. They also have a dog hotel in the back of the store.

made an appointment for my dogs to be groomed and called twice on different days beforehand to confirm that no cancellation will occur the day of. I arrive the day of the appointment and was rudely criticized about my dogs “weight” and health condition and was denied service even though a faculty member was aware prior. One associate even stated that since it was busy and I didn’t speak to the right person my appointment got canceled WITHOUT notice.

Horrendous. I brought my long hair miniature Dachshund in for a summer trim to shorten her fur a bit for the summer and cut off any straggly bits. I got back a shaved dog!! Who on earth shaves a long haired dog. She was shaking a petrified. I am so upset. When I asked to speak to the manager he had absolutely nothing to say. Please think twice about bringing your pets here for grooming if you care about them. They got one star cause the app wouldn’t let me give zero

We booked a grooming session, which for our dog breed is only a bath and brush. The customer service we received for drop off and pick up was horrible. I walked in a few minutes earlier to the appt just behind one person dropping their dog off for a nail trim. Three other groomers had dogs on their tables.The groomer helping the person before me informed me I had to wait to be checked in since she was going to check in the other dog and then proceed to cut their nails. That meant I was to stand there with my dog for 15 minutes plus and now well pass my appt time. Only when my dog started barking because we were standing there did someone take my dog. Then for pick up almost three hours from my dog being dropped off the staff at the front desk answering the phones stated she couldn’t give us our dog from the back as she was off the clock. So we waited again. This store needs to work on their customer service!!

I cannot say enough good things about this Pets Hotel. I have been bringing my Great Danes here for years. The staff is accommodating and Tracey goes out of her way to make sure that my dogs are taken care of. Her warm and positive nature puts me at ease while they stay here. I have never had an issue, and will continue to return for day camps and boarding.

Pretty good selection of cat and dog supplies and food. Found a lot of cute items. Downside is the animal care still isn't great (like the chinchilla enclosure) but that's a corporate level issue, not store level.

Our dog, Georgi, has been boarded at the hotel for years and the staff know him pretty well. Unfortunately, this past visit was not a good experience.My dog was on a different food for a while that was in a can, so during his past couple visits, the direction was to give him 1/3 can 2x per day. It was a typical 13 ounce can, so around 3 oz. per feeding.On this particular visit in November 2022, my husband told the person checking him in (Pam), that we switched his food to the Cesar containers, and he gets 1 container, 2x per day. The containers are each 3.5 ounces, almost equivalent to the feedings from the previous cans. He was assured this would be changed in the computer system.Due to flights being postponed from a hurricane, we called to let the staff know and to tell them pull any food from the shelf as needed. Pam informed us there was food remaining as he was only being fed 1/3 of a container 2x per day. That is only a little over TWO OUNCES of food a DAY compared to the 6 pounces he was supposed to get. We were told that the computer system had not saved the change in the food instructions. Our biggest concern is how this was not common sense that a dog would never get only ONE OUNCE of food at a feeding unless there was a medical issue or specific doctor instructions. Someone should have called us to clarify the feedings as we would assume this should have made someone think twice at feeding time. This also went on for 2.5 days- that means my dog ate only 6 ounces of food in 2.5 days and he should've had 17 ounces. That is completely unacceptable, and we are not sure how NO ONE picked up on the fact that this did not seem normal. If we had not had our flights delayed, our dog would only have eaten about 14 ounces of food in SIX DAYS.

Staff was very nice and answered questions prior to our dog’s stay. The reason for the 2-star rating is she got sick and was sent to the vet where we incurred a $500 charge. If it were just our dog, I would understand, but 5 dogs were sent to the vet that day, which indicates it’s a store issue and not a dog-specific illness. After speaking with the vet, it seems this is a common occurrence from this store. Sounds like a kick-back scheme to me.

They want you to pay for express services to get your pet back faster & not be stressed out sitting in a smelly crate because they are under staffed. The manager wants to be every employees bestie and endorses the lackadaisical approach the groomers they employ. 3 hours to groom a 30 lbs dogYeah I'm all set with Pets MartI rather pay Wolfgang Bakery more money for a better experience...Support Local business

My family made a grooming appointment for my dog. We waited MONTHS then they canceled. We made another appointment. We waited MONTHS they canceled. We made another appointment we waited MONTHS then they canceled.... We asked what they heck is up? We waited 6 months. My dogs a mess & my mom can't go far to go somewhere else because she has cancer and is old now. The groomers apologized & finally made the appointment & said it would be free of charge. We dropped him off for a 12:30pm appointment. We called back 5 hours later at 5:30. They told us they haven't even got to him yet. Finally 6 hours later they said they were done with him but they couldn't complete the grooming because he was stressed out from being away from us for so long. When we got there at 6:30pm he still has a large section not cut on his neck. His face wasn't groomed at all. The tail wasn't groomed at all. The nails weren't cut AND I forgot to mention they tried charging us an extra $10 as some type of fee for frustrated dogs that are hard to cut .... My dogs only 15 pounds probably. He's puppy size.... I have been getting all my dogs done for years. Not no more. May I suggest the grooming place in Glastonbury they are on New London Turnpike across the street from that old plaza that I think Glastonbury Bike Shop is in. It's in the same plaza as a tire shop. There is a nice girl that owns/runs it that works there that I used to go to school with many years ago. It's about the same price. Maybe a little more but it's worth it... The only reason we chose Pet Smart was because it was closer & my mom can't be off of Oxygen for long.
