Place has everything you need and a ton of the stuff you didnt even realize you needed. Good idea to grab an extra lighter fluid if you're camping. Only 4 bucks.

I stopped by the East Haddam store today and was shocked to hear the employees yelling and swearing at each other. You could hear every word all over the store. It was awful. Yelling about how much work they do, they work their $%* off, etc. I walked out. There’s no way I feel safe in such a hostile environment. With every newscast we are bombarded with violence and hatred and to walk in to a small town store to hear them yelling at each other is uncalled for. Employee issues should be discussed in the office out of earshot of paying customers. Unbelievable! I won’t be going there again. Too bad, because it’s very convenient. So unprofessional, and very scary given today’s situation.

Walked into the store to get cigarettes found no one at the register but heard 2 employees complaining about a previous customer who did not speak English well. I was ignored during this conversation until the other person said to Jessica that there was someone in the store. She was exceptionally rude. She proceeded to tell me she didn't have my brand of cigarettes even though I was looking at them behind her. After her rude behavior I chose to go to the gas station down the street for my needs. Later I called to speak with a manager. Jessica answered the phone once again very rude and refused to allow me to speak with a manager. I will not be back additionally as a person of color I felt very violated. Will not be back contacting the ACLU so they can further look into this matter. Shame. This store should be closed to make way for a company that will better serve the community.

What time does this place close? Friday night was closed at 9:45. Really inconvenient, your customers depend on this chain being open until their posted closing time since it's the only place for 20 miles. So tell me what time do you close???????????

Two employees were screaming and yelling and physically ramming into things. I did not feel safe and left as did another female customer. A male customer was becoming agitated and seemed ready to get involved

Sheldon was an awesome cashier, dollar general staff here seems nice and knowledgeable compared to other locations. Will return soon even though it's a drive

I love this place. Reasonable prices for good stuff. They may not have the entire selection, but what they have is good. Also, the help are very nice and have always provided assistance to me whenever I asked. The manager of this store is the best! Give him a promotion....

This store saves my family lots of money on everyday things. So much stuff. Foods, snacks, milk, eggs paper goods, cleaning supplies, stationary, baby and pet stuff, seasonal stuff the list goes on.. it's like a little mini grocery store and mini department store together. It's clean and the staff is always friendly.

Love this place as more of an expanded convenience store. Admittedly I typically visit only for drinks or a snack but they have a lot more here such as household supplies.Things seem less expensive though there are also odd sized packages for some items which make the item smaller/cheaper.

I tried to shop at 9:40 PM on a Friday and the doors were locked. It's suppose to be open until 10pm but I don't know what happened. The hours on the front door are also cut out ✂️

The $ General in Haddam CT is #1. It was very very clean, stocked w/ everything u,I need(ed). The cashier was very nice, helpful, knowledgeable & personable. Also, very easy to park. The plus was EVERONE was WEARING a MASK. Thank u $ General & all the employees!!!! Keep staying Very Very SAFE!!! A+++++++++++++

Friendly personnel very well displayed, very nice grand opening , I was 1 of the 1st 100 people to enter on opening day. Received a $10.00 gift card for being 1 of 100 reasonably priced also great for the bakery list, just saying!!!

The coolers we're almost empty. There was no cold water. The aisles were quite empty also. That being said, the two associates I encountered were quite helpful. Especially the young man who rung me out.

LOVE Dollar General!!! Newly opened in the last year or so, in Hadlyme, CT. Brand new building, chock full of a wide variety of products and actually have a $1.00 aisle! Practical, clean, helpful associates. 2 truckloads of new product arrive each week! Name brands in household goods and food products, as well as DG private label. Always something on sale!!!

2 stars, because while the business has helpful front staff, I think there are problems deeper.If your store's hours are open at 8am, and it's 9:40am now and you're still not open, at least put a sign on the door. Terrible management.

A little cramped I'm not sure any aisles were handicap accessible via wheelchair, but hada great selection of miscellaneous good quality household items for cheap! One stop shop for just about anything.

Great store to buy crafts for any holiday. For a few dollars you can make a holiday craft look like you bought it at an expensive boutique and it cost alot!
