My sister and I went on a wine tour this Sunday. Sunset was absolutely the stand out location. Not only was the wine amazing, but the staff - incredible! Specifically our girl Katelyn. Such a kind and knowledgeable employee - really appreciate her positive attitude. She guided us each (with very different palates) with what our favorites would be! Will definitely be back.

This is definitely worth the trip! We are from Delaware and heard about the wine here. It did NOT disappoint! Mary was an exceptional guide for us during our tasting and we ended up buying more bottles than we planned! We will definitely be back!

This vineyard is in the scenic historic hills of Litchfield county. It’s set up with a large bar, great staff, and opportunity to purchase gifts for your favorite wine enthusiasts.I sipped a lovely vintage red, Twisted Red 2015. All around a lush red with great forward and back.The glass was $$. This is where they lost the star…. Possibly more due to the older bottle being used.I do recommend including this vineyard on your tour as it does offer so much.

Our first visit to Sunset Meadows Winery, it was a beautiful day & such a pretty spot to sit outside, enjoy the views & try some wine & chocolates. I had the red wine & chocolate tasting & my friend had the white wine. We both found the wines quite enjoyable & the chocolates were delicious.The staff was knowledgeable, friendly & quite helpful. Liked the little gift shop too. Will definitely go back again.

Just had an awesome tasting at Sunset Meadows. What was refreshing is they don't push flights. just tastings and the tastings selection includes all their wines, even the reserves.I much prefer the traditional tastings as the winery staff give you background info on each bottle as you taste it.All the wines tasted were great.. favorites include the cabernet franc. Probably thebest cab franc in the state. You have to finish off the visit with their merlito.A+ experience all around.

My family wanted to go to a vineyard in Litchfield, but I guess we drove too far because we ended up here, in Goshen. I'm glad we did.We came on a Sunday and the place was bubbling. I hate having to navigate parking fields, where you literally have to park in the grass and hope that is the right spot, but there were multiple people directing us where to go. They were young kids directing us, but they had a lot of experience and were very friendly.They had a live band and a food truck. At first there was no place to sit, but a nice couple let us share a picnic bench with us. I'm glad they were so friendly otherwise I would have had to sit on the ground, where there are ants. I don't like sitting next to ants.I had to go inside to get the wine. The store was maxed out, but the staff kept it flowing by asking each person in line what they wanted prior to them reaching the counter. Very smart!I judge a place by if they ID me. I'm balding, and my non bald spots are grey. I'm also fat and have wrinkles all over my face. If you need to ID me, then I immediately know you have no experience, but I didn't get carded, so onward with my positive experience.Back at the picnic bench, I couldn't find my wife. The nice couple said that my wife moved to a pair of Adirondack chairs, which are much more comfortable that a picnic bench. I thanked them for their help.There was a food truck there that put crushed Doritos as a topping. At this point I thought I was in heaven.Every place has there problems. The only problem I had with this place was the amount signage needed to tell people not to bring their own water. The nice guys in the parking lot were warning people not to bring water. There were so many signs in the lawn that I had to crop 1/2 my pictures. I get you don't want people to bring water so you can charge them, but I think that is wrong for two reasons: 1) people will get drunk faster and possibly then drive drunk 2) this is America, and sometimes I like to walk around with my 8QT camel water pack. I should be able to do this where I go.I took a lot of pictures of the parking lot. Best time ever.

Beautiful winery, have some great tasting wines for every taste. Gives an option to mix and match reds, whites and desert wines. Generous pours, reasonable prices!

Great location, for this very busy vineyard. The wines were good but not great. The best was their St Croix bourbon barrel aged red wine. Wine tasting is $15 per person and includes the glasses. Other vineyards nearby are less expensive with slightly better wine. There were 2 bachelorette parties at the vineyard at the same time, and they had plenty of room to accommodate everyone.

Great selection of wines here - definitely worth the drive! Loved the Majestic (which tastes maple syrup) and all of the Root 63’s (red and white) and shades. A flight of 5 costs about $15 and you can keep the glass after. Truly there was not a wine I did not like and we went home with 12The food trunk was serving pasta, Frieda and cannolis - we got a godfather (think Italian taco)

First time we visit that place and when we went it was an event 2 or 3 weeks ago. We loved it everything was so nice, people around enjoying and buying some stuff, live music, I bought a delicious spice jam.

We had the best time at SMV this afternoon! The vineyard is beautiful, the atmosphere is great, and there is lots of seating both indoor and outdoor. The wines are absolutely delicious, and our server Mary was extremely knowledgeable about the flavors, ideal food pairings, and the winemaking process. She was very hospitable and outgoing, and she provided an excellent customer experience to everyone who came in regardless of how busy it got. We stayed for a while and definitely bought some bottles to bring home!!

Another fantastic winery. Chris was knowledgeable and gave fantastic descriptions of the wines. Tasting room is fairly small but the property is over 40 acres with more being planted soon. Love their new coffee infused Rt. 68 and the Rum Barrel Aged Sunset Blush. Will definately be back in the summer when I can sit outside.

Our women's Bible study group went to Sunset Meadows for a picnic and a wine and chocolatepairing. . The staff could not have been kinder or more helpful. Charlotte was especially patient with us. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. The view was spectacular, the wine was great with the paired chocolates, and we all had a great time.

The chocolate and wine tasting was EXCELLENT!! We did the white wine pairing and we loved the white wines and chocolates! The grounds are beautiful too. Try the mulled wine, it was VERY good! Super nice staff that gave us recommendations for our road trip too :) definitely stop here.

Vineyard is beautiful, entertainment and atmosphere was lovely. The tasting was a total disappointment. All of us did the 5 selection tasting. We received barely an ounce of each wine in plastic covered solo cups. When I say barely an ounce I mean it. It was hardly enough to taste the wine. This was our first stop of 3 vineyards in the area. The others really did a good job of tastings. We did buy a bottle of 63 to go

Visited yesterday with my wife and two friends. We did a tasting with Chris, in which we tried 5-6 different wines. All of them were very good to excellent IMO. Connecticut is a far from ideal wine region, but these folks nailed it, with mostly estate grown grapes. Best CT wines I've had by far! The property was great, with a food truck making pizzas, and plenty of parking and seating, and super friendly staff. We'll definitely be back again!

This is my favorite winery. I have been to many across the state on the wine passport list. This one has a beautiful setting, friendly staff and most importantly welcomes dogs. Two of my favorite things in one spot. As a wine lover, dog daycare owner and pet sitter this is a favorite spot for my husband and I. Try the Lab Cab and the Root 66 infused with coffee and chilled and head out on the patio to enjoy. You will not be disappointed!

Just as some other reviews I read here. The staff is rude, we got there early. 8 of us together we brought in snacks like they told us we could do. first the wine tasting, the bar tender gave us a nice full page menu then said larger groups only get a very small choice menu 1/4 page? fine but I like red only about 3 to pick from 5 given choices. Then after we sit at the table we were asked to leave after an hour there with 4 open bottle's of there wine we bought! ( A family reunion) a brother & sister-in law had just got there from driving all the way from Philly. 10 minutes before they kicked us out of the table & seats. I asked nicely for just 15 more minutes. NO! ? really? We bought extra bottles spent $$$ She said I gave you 2 hours NOT true since we were only there from 12:45 to 2:00pm . We were told to leave our water bottles in car might be vodka in it? strange thing.. Thanks but no thanks again ever! Many other places that are warm ~

Great vineyard, 95% of their wine is grown and produced locally on site. They only import a small percentage of grapes for their Merlot. We had a picnic lunch with a large group of about 20 adults and kids on a gorgeous late May day. It was hot (mid 80s) but some shade and a lovely breeze kept us cool. Plenty of room (cafe tables and picnic tables outside). Inside is seating only for parties <6. The wine tasting was great (only $6 or $8 if you wanted to keep your glass as a souvenir). No pressure to buy and the girl was very knowledgeable and friendly. Wine slushies (Merlot) for $5 were a hit with our group on the warm day. Side note - they don't allow any outside beverages (including water). They were fine with us bringing juice boxes and milk for the kids and babies.
