I recently brought my Springer Spaniel to be groomed at Petco Fairfield for the first time. Her groomer, Aaliyah, was excellent!! She asked me a number of questions so we could talk upfront about the cut I was picturing, and then she executed flawlessly and in record time. My dog walked in to Petco looking totally disheveled and left looking like a show dog!

Great pet store with a wide variety of options. It's a little pricey but seems to have quality products, wide selection, and a discount program. The animals in the store seem well taken care of, and it's fun being allowed to bring your pet inside. šŸ˜Š

I have to say please allow people to buy the pet fish for sale. There is a lot of resistance especially from Jason who makes everyone feels like a fish killer. He said to me that if buy any chance the fish died that I cannot come ever to the store and they would never sell me any pet fish. My question is why put pet fish for sale if you don't want to sell them. I did not appreciate the comments he made to me.

I rarely book here unless I need a last minute appointment Saturdays. A while back, the grooming person didnā€™t show up and I was informed at the store. No call to let customers with appointments know prior to getting there. Today the key holder opened the door an hour lateā€¦ the doors shouldā€™ve opened at 9am and it opeNed at 10am. A lot of people were waiting outside the doors and in their cars. Things happen and thatā€™s understandable to an extent but itā€™s always something with the staff there.

I have two 9 year old Maltese so grooming appts are always somewhat of a project. I couldnā€™t make an appt in Stratford because they had no groomers. I was able to get 2 time slots for the puppies in the same day in Fairfield.I received a call from one of the groomers letting me know one of my puppies was too fidgety and they couldnā€™t finish cutting his hair. I expected the dog to look half groomed. To my surprise, he didnā€™t look bad at all. They both looked good. I was encouraged to get a refund for one puppy and I was reluctant.Tanya, one of the groomers, was very professional. The grooming staff was courteous and professional.

My dog has been a grooming customer for 14+ years. We also get our snacks, toys, leashes, everything there - for 14 years. We are members of the Vital Care programs and pay $19,00 a month for that.I have also had 2 cats in the last 25 years, and for all their needs, I always counted on Petco.Today I was told Petco will no longer take my dog for a haircut because he is too old and can't stand up for the whole time, and it is just too much work.Petco colleagues and management, I hope you do not treat your aging parents this way.

After my experience today I told myself this review was needed. Colleen the store leader was wonderful. She is super sweet and introduced us to a vital care plan for our puppy. She and the cashier took their time to give us the proper discount on our grooming and were just amazing. She is a fine example of what a store leader should be, matter fact exactly how a human should be. Her energy, kindness, patience, and customer service were beyond 5 star. I will not forget my experience with her today. Thank you Colleen, from me, my boyfriend and my puppy. Keep being you šŸ™

When in doubt, I asked for help and immediately I was help with what I needed. I asked more than a few questions and the help was effectively great. Will definitely continue to shop at this location. The store Associates were knowledgeable and willing to help at moment's notice. Thank you

Would Highly recommend! The staff is made up of the nicest people in retail, and it is clear that they know their stuff, especially the young man in the fish section. He was so polite and has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to fish. Great job Petco Fairfield!

We've used Petco before, but this most recent experience was so unpleasant, and we will certainly go elsewhere and deal with a place that may be a little less convenient but that will be more well-prepared to actually groom our dog. We received a call that our dog was "unhappy" to be in the crate and that we needed to come get her immediately (had to drop work to do so--- she's been vocal in the crate before, and we've never had a call like this). We were also told that she "didn't like" her paws being touched (which is nothing new and has never been a problem before; I also can't imagine her being the only dog that does not like their paws being touched). Consequently, the groomers said they could not dry her paws and could not cut her nails. The only proof of completed service was the fact that she was still wet from her bath. We cannot speak to any other services because they clearly did not happen.Regardless of these services that we paid for yet did not receive, we were still charged the full amount and were left picking up a soaking wet dog to put in our car. I'm really disappointed because we've used Petco several times but will no longer be returning. It seemed like the grooming technicians could not be bothered to deal with a dog that can be a little finicky and, as a result, thought they were off the hook for actually doing their jobs and fulfilling services that had been requested and paid for.

The young lady who helped me was so informative and helpful. She guided me to exactly what I needed and helped my purchase. She was a beautiful young brown skin girl working at the register by the door and unfortunately I didnā€™t get her name. Iā€™ll be sure to next time though she was great

Set up a grooming appointment here since my local Petco was booked up months in advance. To say the least, theyā€™re unprofessional. My dog has been professionally groomed several times & had never been viewed as a safety risk. Sheā€™d just show up, be taken inside, & Iā€™d pick her up well-groomed. The minute I said my dog was shy & nervous (because there was a lot of activity going on), they started going crazy and responding as if my dog was lunging at people (which she wasnā€™tā€¦ she was just panting & standing there). I understand that nervous dogs can be a safety risk but the way they went about this was totally unprofessional. If you think a dog is a safety risk, simply cancel the appointment; the situation didnā€™t need to be drawn out like it was. The first young woman tried to warm my dog to the environment to get her more comfortable but another older woman intervened & started being extremely grabby/touchy with my dog all over and of course because of this my dog nipped at her. A dog is uncomfortable & you as a stranger think the best move would be to touch & pet the dog all over vigorously? All of this could have been avoided by simply canceling my appointment the minute I said she was nervous (which id totally understand), all the other extras & theatrics was unnecessary. Also, I hope this wasnā€™t racially motivated but they kept asking & insinuating that I was the pet sitter after I made it clear several times that I was the dogā€™s owner. A poc canā€™t have a designer breed dog? I just HAVE TO be the dogā€™s sitter because thereā€™s no way this dog could be mine -__- Yeaā€¦ never coming back

Store did not have an item I was looking for, no problem, this can happen. Had an overall feeling that there was little interest in customers. Checkoutwas unfriendly. I was carrying my puppy, my pocketbook and the doggie bed I had bought. It would have been so appreciated if one of the staff hadoffered to carry my doggie bed to my car. Not rude, rather disinterested.Overall, disappointing.

My wife and I were looking for a place to go out for our 7th anniversary, and decided on the Fairfield Petco after hearing good things about it from our friends. Frankly, we were very disappointed. While there was a large variety of meat options, all of them were raw. We consider ourselves seafood connoisseurs, so we decided to start with some fish appetizers. The waitresses were very rude and refused to take the fish out of the tank for us to eat unless we paid for them first. They kept asking us what kind of container we would like to take the fish home in, which was confusing because we came to eat there and not for take-out. Pretty unconventional for a restaurant, but whatever. All of the fish was small with very little meat, and came raw and unseasoned. We've had better... For the main course, we decided to have guinea pigs, which is something you rarely see nowadays. Our waitress placed it in our hands, without any sort of plate or cutlery. I don't know how she expected us to eat it, especially since it was still alive, but repeatedly biting at it did the job for us. For some reason, the waitress found this concerning (should have given us a steak knife and forks!) and asked us to leave or she would call the police.

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Recently there has been a major lack of stock, however this may be due to supply chain problems related to the shutdowns. The only issue I have is that I personally find a lot of the food, treats, etc to be quite expensive, leading me to shop online if possible instead.

Staff was not friendly or helpful. They didn't have all I needed. Checkout was so dry. No customer service "Hello, how are you?," "Thanks for shopping with us." That was all non existent. No bags for your stuff and no offer to help you either. Went to The Natural Pet Outlet for my dog stuff and they were super friendly, offered assistance, carried my things to the car as they saw I had a bad hand. I'd rather take the drive to Petco in Stratford.

I can only say amazing things about this team at the Fairfield Petco. They really go above and beyond to make sure all your needs are being met. Products always well stocked. Store is easy to shop around and always clean. Customer service is spot on. After I pick up my goodies, I tend to spend most of my time in there speaking with employees about our animals at home and chatting about everyday things as well. I've shopped there for my dog, hedgehog, and chameleon and I've never had even one bad experience. They're very informative and try their best to help in any situation. I've called constantly to ask questions and speak concerns about my chameleon when she fell ill. They let me surrender her into their care and basically tried their best to do everything they could and make her comfortable for her last few days! The bond they have with these animals amazes me. I am beyond grateful for the members of Fairfield Petco, they've basically become family. I am a customer and a friend of theirs for life! Thank you for all you do, you are appreciatedšŸ’œ

Petco May like dogs but they don't really like customers. We had been a great customers for 2 years - grooming our dog every 6 weeks and buying all supplies. Last week the craziest thing happened - the groomer decided she did not feel Comfortable handling our incredible friendly mini golden doodle. This would have been fine if she notified us in advance. Rather they confirmed the appointment 2 days prior (as always) and we drove 25 min, dropped him off and 20 min later I get a call that I needed to pick him up. Needless to say I was shocked. Her explanation was totally lame and the fact that we were completely put out was of no concern to them. I will never shop at Petco again. Shockingly bad customer service and complete disrespect for us and our beloved dog. I wish there was an option for 0 stars or less.

My Aunt had her two dogs groomed and Nikki did a WONDERFUL job! Nikki is so friendly and such a great groomer. I definitely would recommend you bring your pet here for a great groom!šŸ‘

I had a terrible experience with Nikki and I will not return to this store. We talked about my golden doodle and she was very condescending. She also kept raising her voice to speak over me. Then she decided she wouldn't groom my dog after all. My dog and I did not deserve to be kicked out.There was no manager on duty to resolve the situation. I left a message but the manager did not reach out to me. Nikki was rude, immature and unprofessional. I reccomend taking your business to one of the local shops for grooming.

The staff are always the best no matter which Petco we go to. They are suffering from the typical supply chain difficulties which affects the one canned food our cats will eat. Figures doesn't it šŸ™„ šŸ˜’
