If I could give a million stars I would, this place is wonderful. Alex is patient and understanding knowledgable and most of all patient to answer any and all questions. Not to mention his prices are affordable. This is my new go to spot for all my Goldfish and aquatic needs from now on, I suggest you give this shop a try you will not be disappointed.

Alex has been such a good resource since I got into fishkeeping during quarantine. SO much better than Petco or Petsmart - he has cool fish, a nice variety of everything else you need for your tanks, and is knowledgeable and ready to chat about whatever questions you have. And if he doesn't have what you're looking for he knows how to get it!

Alex's Advanced Aquatics is a great aquarium store. Alex has a very good selection with great prices, and he is very friendly and knowledgeable. I have been there several times to buy various freshwater tropical fish, with the most recent being a gorgeous Halfmoon Betta. Skip the big box stores and check it out. It's really a great little place!

Loved this place! The owner was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. You could tell he is passionate about his business and the products he sells. From his explanation he seems to handpick a lot of the livestock he carries which I think is great. The prices are awesome, even better than online, and he carries a small selection of live food and even some food made in Rhode island. The fish all looked healthy and happy, and we will definitely be back when we're looking to ad livestock to our aquarium, and for our future aquarium needs. Highly recommend to anyone that's into aquariums and fish keeping.

I was at his store today and i was amazed. Alex is really enthusiastic about his hobby and has genuine care for the fish and animals he sells. He truly values the hobby and provides encouraging tips and advises. His prices are unbeatable, and I have been in every fish stores in northern connecticut. I got some shrimps today with literally half the price of everywhere else. I also got some healthy Celestial danios which are very rare at stores. I was really surprised to see the amount of coral he has in his collection, they are really healthy and truly unbeatable price. I have recently setup an saltwater tank , and i can tell his store will be my go to place for every fish tank need.His store is not like big brand name stores with lots of equipments for sale. His store is a place for hobbyist where you will get honest opinion and advises and great quality healthy fishes with unbeatable price.

I traveled 45 mins one way. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and the cheapest. I'd gladly go back. On a side note it is a small place so if your looking for something spastic call ahead to make sure he has it in stock. If he doesn't he will order it for you. Thanks for hooking me up Alex!!!

Nice little shop. Owner is friendly and helpful. Reasonable prices. He rotates his fish stock selection so there’s usually something to go home with. I’d recommend stopping in. Let’s keep the privately owned specialty shops like this alive before the chains with their fixed basic fish selections are all that’s left!

I really love this place. I make the 40 minute trek because Alex knows his stuff. He’s super kind and knowledgeable. If he doesn’t have what I need in stock he’ll order it. Would much rather give a fellow hobbyist my business. He cares for his animals as much as any good aquarist does. 10/10

Alex is a guy who knows his stuff. Any question I've ever had has been met with expertise. He has a variety of freshwater as well as saltwater fish. All of his fish are offered a great price, many of his fish cost less at his store than at a major chain. The shop is small but all of its space is filled with aquariums as well as supplies. If you are new to the hobby or if you are experienced, Alex's Advanced Aquatics is great place to visit. I am happy that I live close by to such a useful fish store. Keep local businesses like this alive.

Very nice shop for its size. Not gonna find crazy aquascapped tanks (Lets be real its not needed haha) but the quality of the fish is high up there for CT. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area!
