Only good thing was they were able to deliver next day. These are the ugliest Marble chips I have ever seen. Full of yellow stone and TONS of sand. Absolutely dirty. I had sent photos to the company and no apology just excuse of "it happens". If you are going to sell this then update your photos online to show the true color.

DYI / father and son project - 1000 sq ft including (paver patio, fire pit, retaining wall, retaining wall lights, cobblestones for driveway edging, and top soil)...all purchased through Harkens.I’m a father and working professional with no prior masonry experience. The above project would have never been completed without the help and guidance from Harkens Staff, especially the owner Jamie.Prior to doing business with Harkens, I visited a handful of other masonry / landscaping yards and the customer service that I received at Harkens is what won my business.I’m not a contractor nor a business owner, getting into this size of a project was a little overwhelming but Jamie took the time to not just push product my way but validate many of my pending questions and quote me accordingly with products that would stay within my budget.After several visits to Harkens, Jamie took time out of his busy schedule and in between of helping other customers to reviewed my project design and answered many questions.Prior to starting this project, my research consisted YouTube and reading. During the project, I encountered many unforeseen questions where my research didn’t provide answers too. I had the privilege to be able to contact Jamie directly and obtain quick tips and guidance.Overall, it was a true pleasure doing business with Harkens. I ordered the organic planting mix, cobblestone, and cedar black mulch. I called to make my order and the staff was very helpful, patient, and nice. The deliveries were made when scheduled, cobblestones actually came a day early. The delivery drivers were also great, very respectful of the property and friendly in general. I highly recommend Harkens. I will be ordering more in the future.

Great experience here! From the very nice lady I spoke to on the phone who was able to answer all of my questions to the quality and delivery of the product. I had 2 loads of compost and 1 load of raised bed soil delivered. I asked for it to be mixed in a single truck load delivery and to be delivered in my driveway on an X I marked with painters tape. They did exactly as I asked at the time I asked and the quality is very good. Will definitely buy from this business again next year! Thank you and great job.

Be very cautious of their pricing schemes. I was told by a sales person that the patio kits were a better value than buying materials individually, I come to find out after ordering that it costs significantly more to buy the kit than the materials individually. They either intentionally misled me or don't know much about their own products and have ignored my requests for an explanation or refund.

We placed an order to have gravel delivered. We requested 1 1/4 ct valley stone. We noticed on the day of delivery (as it was 4pm and stone hadn't been delivered yet) that the receipt had our last name spelled wrong, the wrong address and we later discovered they delivered the wrong product. I found this out when I returned a week later to pick up another yard of gravel ( i requested the same product. confirmed on the previous receipt). When we got it home and saw the difference, we realized the mistake on the delivery (the first order was much smaller). Now we have to do extra work to cover up the smaller stones with the larger ones as it looks bad. Called the store to discuss, was put on hold for 7 minutes and I eventually hung up. There is another stone/gravel place down the street. We went there for pavers. I'd recommend them instead.

They're just starting to get some plants in. I bought my first tomato plant. Their prices were pretty reasonable. I go see what they have every year so I look forward to seeing what else they're going to have as the season gets in full swing.

Communication was clear and transparent. I wasnt told a delivery time when i ordered (which i would have preferred), but Harkens did an excellent job scheduling a time when i called. They seemed extremely busy at the time i was processing my order, but they still followed up with phone calls and updates about the order. I greatly appreciate their "spirit to serve"!

Don't expect any assistance if it's 10 minutes to closing! Been Debating on planters we've seen at a big box store for the past 2 years but been looking for that "unicorn" planter, a statement piece, like you'd see outside homes in Fairfield County! Phoned 10 minutes to their 6:00 p.m. closing to inquire if they have pedestal planters! Male voice answered the phone and ONLY said "Hold". Stayed on hold for 20 minutes, 10 minutes past their closing (have screen shot of phone record, time of call and duration). I joked they were putting us on hold and waiting for close so we would hang up - never expected I was right! At 6:01 phoned 3 times back to back from our other cell phone, straight to voice mail and voice mail is full! Clearly the decision is made for us where we will be shopping for planters as well as landscaping for our 33 acres!

Harkens just delivered 10 yards of topsoil to my home. Great product, great experience. The driver was friendly and in full control of his vehicle. He dumped the load exactly where I asked him to. I mean EXACTLY. This sounds like a simple task but in my experience (and probably yours as well) contractors can manage to screw up even the most simple of tasks. It was a pleasure to not have to say, "Stop, let me show you how to do that" or more commonly, "Stop, let me do that for you". He backed up a long twisty driveway and maneuvered into a tight spot. He didn't run over my mailbox, lawn, plantings, landscaping, hose guides, kids, pets, tree house, etc. His tires never touched a blade of grass. He actually drove the truck on the asphalt where it belongs (gasp!). I wish that everyone was as good with their skills and conscientious with their actions.

Poor customer experience!! The owner seems like he is bothered with questions about his product and services. I didnt understans his attitude. Waited 15 minutes before he said a word to me. Did not greet me, ask if I needed any help, nothing for 15 minutes. To be clear, there weren't any customers in front of me. I was the only customer. So now you have a rude and a dishonest owner.I took my money up to the guys up the street off the highway. Don't bother with an owner so rude and unattentive to his customers.

Absolutely disgusted by the lack of professionalism by not only the staff, but even the owner. We were given attitude by multiple staff members whenever we had any questions, as if we were just a bother. We will definitely not be returning, and found much better customer service & assistance at another local landscape business (American Mulch & Stone).

Came here last year for a Christmas tree and had a very good experience. Came back this year. It was five minutes before closing and we were picking out a tree. A woman came up and looked at us and said “we’re closed!” We asked if we could purchase the tree we picked out and she rolled her eyes and said what do you have? We asked what she meant and showed her the tree we picked out. Then she rudely said louder “what do you have?! A car, truck?” She was so bothered that we wanted to purchase the tree (again it was five minutes BEFORE closing time) so we just said never mind. Will not be coming back.

They had everything I needed to install a sidewalk--especially good advice/information. Excellent 👍 service. We picked out the pavers we wanted and the area and they provided the right amounts of all the materials. Made it as easy as possible for a do-it-yourself job.
