They will answer the phone, not say a word, and place you directly on hold. They will continue doing this until you hang up. Horrible customer service!

This store is terrible. I called to refill a prescription they had me on hold for about 45 minutes. The phone finally started ring after about 4 minutes they proceeded to hang up the phone. I never am able to get through to refill a prescription.

Absolutely terrible! Had to wait in outside line for 25 minutes and was told to drive around again and get back in line for who knows how long ! I refused to do that AGAIN after being asked twice already and driving around again AND waiting 30 minutes two different times ; so I told them that I would just wait at the drive thru window. They were visibly upset, angry and rude as if it was MY FAULT that my ONE prescription that had been faxed to them 3 days before was NOT READY! This went on month after month for approximately one year ! I then switched my pharmacy to Rite Aid on Main St in East Haven only to go from the frying pan into the fire! Rite Aid was even worse and prescriptions ( extremely important scripts that couldn’t be stopped abruptly or one would vomit , her chills etc. did occur! ) other customers were coming in because they closed their drive thru and customers were livid! Many people were waiting days and days for prescriptions! Customer service is terrible and the pharmacy techs don’t care and ignore people! Their is only one pharmacist who works at a snails pace and has one speed - SUPER SLOW. If you show ANY impatience or frustration they are so rude and disrespectful and SEEM TO punish the customer who needs regular ongoing monthly prescriptions as if the customer is putting them out ! I am in the process of trying to find a pharmacy with a working open drive thru and who fills prescriptions in a TIMELY fashion and doesn’t behave like you are bothering THEM! Does anyone know of drive thru pharmacies in east Haven area who I can actually drive thru and get my prescription. I am physically handicapped and can’t walk in and have difficulty getting someone to pick prescriptions up because they too can’t wait around and be late for work or school ! They are both terrible pharmacies and BOTH CLOSED pharmacies on Sat. and Sunday 😡🤬😢

**This review is for the pharmacy Department only**The customer service in the pharmacy Department at this particular Walgreens is by far the worst experience ever. I am going to change pharmacies. At least 320 minute wait in the Drive-Thru with nothing but two cars in front of you. Sometimes over a 30-minute wait just to drop off a prescription inside. The staff is anything but friendly. The pharmacist is rude. When you call the pharmacy about a question they put you on hold right away and every 5 minutes they pick up don't even say anything to put you back on hold. If you're lucky after 20 minutes on hold you will speak to somebody. Which isn't much help anyways. After 20 minutes if you don't get to speak to somebody you get hung up on to have to do it all over again. A lot of times they don't have your prescription in stock. Even though you pick that same prescription up every month you think they know after years they should have it on hand. So you didn't need to wait at least a day or two to get your medication. Recently I had a very important antibiotic ear drops prescription and I had to wait 3 days just to get it. I was in a lot of pain and things like that shouldn't happen in a pharmacy. It truly is horrible to deal with. If there was Zero Stars I'd give it.

Saw my daughter’s Dr. on Friday afternoon and she was given a prescription sent to the 157 Main St. East Haven Walgreens. Go in Saturday morning to get it to find that the pharmacy is closed BOTH Saturday and Sunday. What’s worse, the prescription can’t even be picked up at another Walgreen’s. I was told by the cashier I have to call the Dr. to have it sent to another Pharmacy. Apparently Walgreens doesn’t think it necessary to have a pharmacist..or even someone there to check out already filled prescriptions, but they expect my Dr.s office to be staffed on the weekends. I tried calling the Walgreens 1800 #s to see if there was anyway this prescription could be diverted to one of their other stores. The 1-800 Walgreens got me to a recorded message where they were offering me a free life alert type gadget as part of a special promotion. The other 1800 number on their website had automated options to find a local store etc. The other questions option doesn’t even offer a message it just hangs up on you. While it is disgusting that a corporation that posted 28 Billion in gross annual profits in 2021 does not have a pharmacist in its stores 7 days a week, it’s inexcusable that they do not use technology to allow customers to pick up their needed prescriptions at another of their locations if its something that can’t wait till after the weekend. Will not spend another cent at this chain that cares more about profits than its customers.

The store is fine, it’s the pharmacy that absolutely SUCKS. I see some reviews that say they are short staffed, but often times I see multiple techs including the pharmacist & only one tech is at the register with a long line. I was a retail pharmacy technician for 4 years. The number one priority was customer service. The minute you had a customer waiting in line you were supposed to stop what you were doing & help them. If there wasn’t a tech available then the pharmacist would help out. Same thing with the phones. This pharmacy lets the phone ring continuously without even picking up to ask if you can hold. Now they are closed on weekends which is crazy, but maybe they can’t get a pharmacist to cover. I only come here for my dad since he can’t drive. I’ve finally decided to switch all his meds somewhere else. Walgreens in Foxon is much more efficient if you are looking for another option.

The store in its entirety is always neat, clean, and orderly.The pharmacy is what I'm writing the review about and I couldn't be happier that I made the switch from Walgreens. I was struggling getting my scripts on time or even getting thru on the phone when calling to inquire at Walgreens. I know a lot of it had to do with taking on providing Covid and flu shots and staff shortage. But when they closed the drive-through? That was the last straw for me. It was bad enough that they closed it daily for lunch breaks and truck deliveries. So I made the switch. The pharmacists and the pharmacy techs at Rite Aid have been nothing but polite and helpful since I made the move a few months back. They go the extra step for the customer and treat you with respect while doing it... and they always answer the phone!

Very bad customer service. I bought a cup $8.99 and after I paid it my mom wanted another same style but another color, the other color cost $7.99, so I just switched them without asking the cashier the $1 extra I paid to avoid waiting in line again. When we got home we opened the cup and we found it broken, I went back to the store to return it and take the first one I chose. I got what I wanted after a very long waiting and the manager said that switching was steeling, I had to tell them I switched the cups!!! How this is steeling while I paid $1 extra, it's same cup just different color, I thought it's not important. He could say it was a mistake we need to scan again, if I knew it's important I would say it, treating me as thief was so rude and bad. I am an old customer, I use the pharmacy and the store from 4 years, I put lot of money and they treat me as a thief just because I changed the cup color, I even paid $1 extra because the second color was cheaper. I'm feeling sick, they ruined my day, I bought many things and get passport photos and this is their thanks. I think it's because I am Muslim, this is racist, I don't see another reason why treat me bad for switching a cup to get another color and I paid everything I took, I didn't take anything free to say it's steeling. I will never use this store again, either the pharmacy

I've NEVER had a problem at the pharmacy. I've had to wait a little longer than usual and sometimes I even have to get out of my car! I think people just need to find and show a little grace. THE WHOLE WORLD IS BACKED UP! The workers can only handle 1 person at a time. Due to C-19, they're understaffed, but I'd rather have them take their time than screw up my medication. If there isn't enough staff, it makes sense to shut down the drive-thru and shorten hours. We're so spoiled. I just wish people would treat each other better, especially in times like these.

I don't understand what is going on with the Walgreens in downtown East Haven. They have been completely understaffed. The drive-thru has been closed. There is no one to answer the phone and the lines for the pharmacy or out the door. Today after waiting for 20 minutes in line for the pharmacy, I asked to use the restroom because of the long wait. I was told the restroom was out of order. Now I certainly can understand that one restroom could be out of order but they have both the men's and a woman's room. I guess the corporation that owns Walgreens and the shareholders are happy because they made more money today having few employees. Totally disgusted!

Waited in drive through for 10 minutes and rang bell twice ( they shut it off first time without helping me) , for someone to acknowledge I was even there. Speaker is very hard to hear. Pharmacy technician was rude . He said I’d have my rapid covid test results in 2 hrs. It’s now 10pm at night and no information. The Walgreens in Branford and east haven need some serious customer service help, not just in pharmacy, but front of store too. I understand things are different during covid, I work in healthcare, but lying about how long it’ll take to get your results is ridiculous. Not going to this store again.

This pharmacy is HORRIBLE!!! Its use to be so good,now its so bad when you call they keep you on hold for ever,the staff at the pharmacy is very unprofessional!! They always understaff, orders are never done,wait time is Ridiculous! Its awful in general. This pharmacy was my favorite for years im switching pharmacy! Not worth it no more.Drive thru is closed! Lines are ridiculous!! Just bad in general!!

The pharmacy is closed on weekends. The drive through is closed. They have lines to the front of the store. It’s CRAZY! I have to have my dad prescriptions sent somewhere else. You can’t even get a person on the phone. They gave me a old prescription for a refill instead of the new script. Then you have to wait to try to get them to take it back. They are the worst!

Wow this pharmacy and its employees really know how to become the worse one on CT. They close at 7:00PM MOnday through Fridays, close on weekends, holidays and hate to answer the phone, but if they do, they will put on hold for about 40 minutes without acknowledging you.Well done Walgreens!

If I could give Negative stars I would. Pharmacy closes early and closes for days at a time.Closed 4pm Wednesday, then closed Thursday, Friday and of Course the Weekends as usual!!#AARP needs to stop recommending them as a preferred Pharmacy!!!😡😡😡

I'm not surprised at the crappy reviews on here. I had all of my mothers prescriptions (approx 10 per month) transferred out of CVS and to Walgreens because of several errors at CVS. In the whole scheme of things, I think the errors at CVS were minimal in comparison to the number of hours I spend per month arguing with Walgreens over BS. Guess it's time to transfer all of them back to CVS again.Walgreens - East Haven:1. Incompetent, uncaring staff2. Automated phone system that makes it nearly impossible to get to a person until your frustration levels are sky high3. Prescriptions that are never sent properly through insurance so I spend time on the phone with Medicare only to learn that once again, Walgreens made another error when submitting the claim to Medicare.4. Incorrect information given to the patient when there are delays in filling a prescription, again blaming the insurance for a delay in approval, only to find out that it was actually due to an out of stock issue. How do you go out of stock on a life-saving required daily medication?

Pharmacy is aweful. I ordered medication friday afternoon. On line said it would be ready Saturday after 11 am. Went Saturday at 230 was told to come back next day. Was not ready. Went back sunday at 1030 am still not ready. Just called at 130 pm still not filled. Aweful

I just went with my morher to pick up her medication and the lady in the counter was the ruddest person I've ever encountered. She gave my mother such a nasty attitude even rolled her eyes that I was astonished. She needs to learn some customer service. I'm happy my mom is such a nice person, she said she always has that nasty attitude. I hope she encounters someone with the same nasty attitude to put her in her place. I will definitely send a message to Walgreens regarding this.

Pharmacy is the worst. Dont bother calling they will put you on hold for hours, you'll be waiting in the drive through line forever if its even open. The hrs are constantly changing.

i took my mother to the hospital because she was vomiting, weak and very sick. the hospital printed out a paper of all the medicine they prescribed my mother and ALL of them said that Walgreens received them and when i went there to pick it up the lady claims they didn’t get anything. so now my mother keeps throwing up after the hospital got it under control. thanks so much walgreens.

They gave out my private information on someone else's prescription. (Happened to be a crazy ex who I didn't want to know where I lived). When confronted they had no answers and only empty apologies. Nice job breaking HIPAA guys...Will be speaking with an attorney. Avoid this pharmacy if you can.

The worst experience pharmacy you would ever have I waited for more than one hour for the doctor because they wanted him to check my profile because they have made a mistake and the doctor finished his work he went prepare a new prescription for the people that he knows that waiting on the line who came 40 minute after me he finished the people that he knows and you’ll stay there waiting for him I never saw people or a pharmacy in my life like those people here the worst experienced that you would have I advice you guys go somewhere else let those people deal with their friends only thank you.

I'm joining forces with others to say this pharmacy (with the exception of tech Melissa, is TRAGIC!! Why is there a drive thru if there's ALWAYS traffic cones blocking it? If you go into the store for meds... Be prepared to wait in a line that stretches the ENTIRE length of the store!! Unacceptable!!

The automated phone system is miserable. Hangs up on your constantly without helping you. You do need to sit through 4.5 minutes of useless information before it hangs up & you have to start again.The hours have become a problem. With limited hours, the lines are out of control.

My doctor referred me to Walgreens. OMGoodness! Pharmacy is accurate, takes medication history, gave me discount coupons, and were courteous and quick!!!!! EVERYTHING CVS IS NOT!!!

The pharmacy opened 10 minutes late. The girl at the counter was rude. 20 more minutes to wait bc they deleted my prescription. No how anyone plans on spending a Sunday morning. Will never use this pharmacy again.

They should not be doing testing here. They do not have enough staff to man the drive way and the counter. I waited 15 minutes in the drive through line for what should have been a 3 minute appointment.
