This was my cat, Willow’s first visit with Dr. Wayne, as we’ve recently moved to the area.First, the environment is very clean and spacious. The exam rooms look like little houses on the outside (so cute and inviting).Willow was so calm as we waited. But when the tech, Jesus, called us in, her other side emerged— anxious Calico. She was growling, hissing, spitting, shaking, ears straight back, pupils fully dilated, you name it. Jesus was impressively knowledgeable and had a professional, yet personable and warm demeanor. He mentioned having worked with big cats (tigers, et al), so I’m assuming Willow’s “hissy fit” was nothing by comparison, and he treated her with mindfulness and compassion.Dr. Wayne and Jesus were both very attentive to the emotional needs of my kitty. Jesus actually spent most of Willow’s appointment sitting on the floor in an attempt to ease her anxiety. Dr. Wayne eventually joined him on the floor in hopes of making her feel safe. Unfortunately, Willow’s anxiety was too far gone for her to sufficiently relax.Although they COULD have proceeded with the examination, they determined that they didn’t want to chance traumatizing her further and creating a negative association with being there.***As a side note, at Willow’s previous vet, they NEVER showed compassion for Willow’s anxiety. The tech would just throw a towel over her and pin her down as the vet did her thing. Once, they took her into a back office while I waited in the exam room for them to trim her nails, until I heard Willow let out a BLOOD CURDLING SCREAM, and I barged back there, looking for my cat, but by the time I found her, they were done. So I KNOW Willow’s more than a handful, and I SO appreciate the extraordinary way she was handled by these two professionals.***Dr. Wayne gave me a 30-day supply of Purina Calming Care— the box reads, “May take up to 6 weeks for full effect,” but Willow has chilled out and is sleeping after the first dose (granted, she may be exhausted from the tantrum she had at the vet).He also gave me a bottle of Gabapentin to calm Willow down next week before our 2nd attempt at her 1st appointment!

This office is absolutely fantastic. They take great Care of my dog. I highly recommend them. Took me a while to find a nice and honest veterinarian and I scored with them. The front staff is great. The assistants are great, and the veterinarians are fantastic. :)

Lobby is beautiful, it’s a very nice place! The doctor was attentive and listened to all my comments and concerns for my pup. She was very knowledgeable. The tech was extremely kind and you can tell she loved the doggy attention. Love the staff! Just for an appointment it is almost $100 ($96) it’s outrageous. It really makes a difference to the bill. Pet health is just so expensive that I understand why one can barely afford just to bring their pet in. I mentioned a smell on my girl and the doctor checked her glands. I didn’t know they charged that much to express glands which is $40.95!!! Had I known it would be that much, I would have said forget it! The groomers can do the expressing for $5. They should really let owners know about that pricing before they go ahead and perform it on their own. Im glad they didn’t charge for all the treats that were given to my girl. Other than the crazy prices, the place is nice..

Terrible Experience taking my bull dog today for her annual visit. First the Vet Technician reviewed her chart and as she asked questions and had no idea of my dogs history while she was looking right at her chart. Next the Vet came he just looked at my bull dog without listening to her heart, check her eyes or ears. Just said she looks ok. He tried to squirt a vaccine in her mouth but half just squirted all over the place. He decided to take her to a separate room to give her shots and clip her nails. He came back in minutes saying no he couldn't clip her nails and said u can come back we will give you a senadative. When I went to pay I was told then told the Vet was not only able to not clip her nails he could draw blood for the heart worm test. So now I asked what did you do to my dog. No checking her vitals no blood trsr no clipping her nails. Why would I go back and drug my dog because they were incompetent. I have no idea what they did to my dog to upset her and unable to manage her. I never had an issue with her previous Vet. Why do they take your pet to another room so you can't see what they were doing. It cost me $271 and I don't trust that she got all her shots Now I need to find a new Vet to get her heart worm tests and pay another office visit. Please don't trust this Veterinary Hospital they had no idea what they were doing. My poor Dolce terrible Vet.

Love Dr Wayne and Dr Faubert! They're kind, patient, understanding and I feel that they listen to me regarding my dogs. Sometimes the time in the waiting room is a little long but I never feel the time in the exam room is too fast or cut short. I can always get an appointment within the time frame I need. The practice was a little unsteady for awhile, but it's much better now and I'm glad I stuck it out with them.

i’ve been bringing my two dogs to Shorehaven Vet since they’ve opened and they are absolutely awesome. My two Yorkies were formally going to Millpond veterinarian not happy that’s all I have to say about them but Shorehaven absolutely awesome.

I was referred by a family member. First visit was wonderful. There was a big staff change since. We had such an awful experience recently when we brought our dog in for vaccines. (We were not allowed to go in with our dog). So we have no idea what was or wasn’t done. We were given no follow up information. Our pet got sick on the way home. When I called the staff member had no idea and put me on hold for a lengthy time. Staff has no animal knowledge. Very unprofessional. I was given a 2pm appointment scheduled weeks in advance. Day of I received a call saying my appointment was as at 10:20 am. Needless to say we won’t be returning. If you love your pet don’t put them in their hands for care.

I’ve been meaning to write this review for a few months. My bunnies needed exams, shots and reams of forms filled out before we got on a plane for a big move. Dr Faubert was so great with the bunnies and incredibly supportive and helpful with what I was honestly expecting to be the most stressful aspect of the whole move. She even got me an appt w Dr Wayne on a federal holiday to fill out the forms I needed because they were supposed to be done by a “USDA certified” vet within 72 hrs of flying. I am sorry i didn’t learn about this practice sooner when I could have taken my bunnies to them again. PS after all those shots and forms we were told were needed at our destination by their state vet, no one asked for a thing! Lesson learned. And the bunnies were champs on the plane. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating. They care about your pet and it shows. I love the way that the Tech comes in and goes over Morgans history, lets me know what she needs to have done, discusses the cost of anything that is over and above the normal and then lets me know what is or isn't necessary at this appointment in the event that finances my be a bit tight to have to pay for everything at once and then asks me if I have any questions or concerns that I would like to discuss with the Doctor. When the Doctor comes into the room, the tech that went over everything also comes into the room. Dr. Dammando is great with Morgan and he always takes the time to ask me if I have any concerns. If I said anything to the Tech he addresses it from the beginning. He actually listens to what I have to say. There is nothing phony about them. The day following the visit I actually got a call from Dr. Dammando telling me that everything was great with the blood work and that Morgan is really doing wonderfully. He said to call him if I had any questions or concerns and I would because I am very comfortable with everything there.

There trying hard to help my cat after Madison veterinary hospital tried with no luck to get a wound healed on his ear but they are very expensive you can expect to spend 500.00 for the visit there very easy

I brought my new puppy to Shore Haven veterinary Hosp. East Haven . I was very satisfied with the entire experience . I was greeted and welcomed pleasantly and I didn’t feel rushed all my questions were answered and I feel very Confident in returning my puppy for all his up coming wellness appointments. My dog Blue, a Pit Bull, does great at his visits and now with COVID he has to go in alone and also does great.I always request/see Dr. Callie Tatro, as she also has a pit bull and understands my needs and concerns.I’ve always had a good experience with Shore Haven Veterinary Hospital.Everyone is very friendly and their hospital is very clean and cute to look at while waiting.I have been to several vets in the past and I finally feel as if I have found a good place to go. They always explain and make me understand everything at my visit. Also, they are very reasonable when it comes to billing/prices for their services.I would definitely recommend Shore Haven as a good option for your pet. 😊

I have a French bulldog. Her name is Skylit! It was our first time at Shore Haven Veterinar. The staff are so friendly and polite! With this whole covid situation, I couldn't go in with my dog (baby). I was nervous and a little sceptical that I couldn't go in with her cause it was our frist time there but the doctor call me on the phone and it was like if I was there with her. That made me feel better and not as nervous! I quickly learn that she was in good hands/ great care! I will definitely be returning back with Shylit. 🙂🐾 Thanks so much for everything ❤!!!!

The techs were very helpful and friendly. My Marlo is a little bit nervous and they were patient with her. She’s a large breed and she can be a bit unnerving but they were very professional and you can tell they love what they do. I have recommended them and will continue to do so.

We took our (pitbull) Kigy here for a serious ear infection and we are so grateful and happy we did ! The staff there are Very Kind , caring, and understanding ! The Vet was amazingour dog isn't the easiest dog to handle but he did an amazing job with him !! We couldn't be happier with our visit and will definitely go back ! When the person who usually did the grooming for my pooch companion Peek moved from her old place to Shore Haven, I tagged along for the move. Francine, the groomer does excellent work on Peek (see attached picture) and has done so for close to six years now. The rest of the staff is trustworthy also. Although Peek's medical needs are handled by another vets' office at the moment, if he ever needs to change offices for some reason we'll be a full time Shore Haven group of customers.Edit: About the only complaint I have is Shore Haven DOES NOT respond to requests for grooming appointments made through their website in a TIMELY fashion. One would think they'd call within the same day or by 48 hours later to set said appointment up with PAYING customers. If this keeps up, I will take my furry buddy elsewhere for his grooming needs.

I had just moved to this area (not even a week ago) and suddenly my cat, Eddie, got really sick. I called all over trying to get in and this was the only place that got me in…45 minutes within calling!!! The front desk who took my call was more than helpful and could definitely sense my stress and worry and she got me in ASAP. The doctor, Dr. Pires, was SOOO great with Eddie(who normally HATES the vet) but he was purring and loving it. I had to leave eddie there for a few hours and she called me after every step giving me updates and made sure I knew exactly what was going on with my kitty. She walked me through everything and really eased my nerves. I will recommend this place to everyone!!! I cannot thank them enough!!!!!!

I wish I could rate 6 stars. I truly felt like my dog was cared about and well taken care of, not just looked over and sent on our way. We were also able to make a last minute emergency appointment which was great and convenient for us. I'll definitely be coming here for the long term.

I can't say enough about Shore Haven. It was my first experience with our new puppy and what a wonderful staff and MD! The office is clean and staff is helpful beyond helpful. Our puppy was comfortable and no way stressed at his first visit ever. We are definitely clients for life!!! I highly recommend Shore Haven for all your veterinary needs. I know that I have also told many friends....so pass the word around!!!

From the minute I called and spoke to the scheduler I felt like this was a great place. I was given a same day appointment and they took very good care of Kobe. Figured out the best way to treat his issue. I’m so glad I came to this office, which by the way is spotless so inviting. The Doctor was great and explained everything to me at every step. Shore Haven was very caring and did an amazing job with what I thought would be a nightmare! I took in a cat and the cat was severely matted and i could not stomach the thought of him being shaved down! They did a great lion Cut and took care of my boy. I am happy with their communication throughout the day as I was nervous but all went pretty well! Thank you Shore Haven! 💖

The best vet I have ever had! I've been taking my 2 male cats here for the past 4 years and they've always been incredible! Last week I added a little girl to our family. I called at 830am and was given an appointment for her first round of shots and checkup for 10am that day! Checkin was easy, everything was explained in detail, we ran the basic tests, got her her shots, setup for her booster and got her nails trimmed. They had her for about an hour and we re very thorough through the entire appointment. The veterinarian himself was patient and never made me feel rushed when consulting him, nor did he push any unnecessary procedures/tests on me.Such a wonderful establishment, ill never go elsewhere!

This is a late review, but one I feel I need to write. About 6 or 9 months ago, we felt a lump on our cat's chest. We brought her in to check it out. The vet and tech felt it. She comes back with doom news. It's cancer. Better to just get all of the mammary glands ripped out than to even biopsy or take the one swollen one. Well that was tough.I spent the following week waiting for the estimated procedure costs that never came. I called several times and was told we'd have them. Finally I realized I was going to have a hard time affording thousands of dollars to rip my baby apart. They could only take at least $1000 to do the procedure.In my gut I knew there had to be another answer. Long story short, there was. We went to get a second opinion from a vet specifically for cats. First of all, my cat didn't freak out in there like she does at Shore Haven. The vets there were so so nice and knowledgeable. They didn't give me any "ITS CANCER" they simply offered my options for determining what it is and gave me estimates ON THE SPOT. They were a little off, but OMG. It didn't take two weeks to get estimates.I was so pressured to get her double mastectomy at shore haven only to be left out to dry for estimates.Well guess what. We got her a biopsy. It wasn't cancer. Thank God. Also were able to get her fixed in the same operation and she has been doing amazing since. We were able to afford it and they worked with us on paying a little off later on.If you guys need a cat vet I recommend aristokatz in Fairfield. If you can make the drive, it's worth it. Don't settle for fake diagnosis doom news and a stressed kitty.I'm sure the vet and tech meant well, but in the medical field, you have to also be precise and accurate.
