Normally, I wouldn't say a word about this Shop Rite as it's a great store...clean, good prices etc.But yesterday I went to the customer service desk and the woman there around 2 pm was rude as hell.I went to get a Powerball ticket and instead of saying hello, she said: "what do you need?".I told her, handed her cash and when she gave me my ticket and change, "here's your change" and that was it. No thank you or anything else.I was pretty taken aback as usually the folks there are quite friendly. This one was just downright rude.Gave 3 stars only cause the rest of the experience was excellent. She gets -2 stars.

It's a great store. I was making a late night grocery run for necessities and had my grocery list ready at hand for my quick scavenger hunt to beat the closing time. Was so happy to see it had everything I need stocked and easy to find. Customer service is great and friendly as well as I had someone asked me if I needed help finding anything which was appreciated even though I did not. I just wouldn't recommend going out here at nights towards closing with a fancy car. Has the faint smell of weed at the exit and the blinking street lamp near the main road that definitely did not help the vib on the walk back to my car. Park near the exit as the main entrance is often closed at nights and be aware of your surroundings when entering or exiting the store at nights which is advice for most winter nights as well.

Diverse mix of items. Good sale prices, especially if you use the coupons by paper or in the app. I like that they now have a larger self-checkout area.

Shop from HomeI've been using this service for 6-7 years. Since CoVid, the service is horrible. I placed ny order last night at 8:30 for delivery today between 9-11 a.m. I call today at noon and am told that they are down to 1 Driver/truck. ITS THE SAME ANSWER EVERY TIME I ORDER. Simple fix, change your online app to allow less orders so you're not agrivating your customers.

Very good store from meat dept. to dairy to bakery to courtesy desk. Son of a 35 year tenured butcher😉 The cappuccino chip Muffins are great. Just wondering why a number of SR Bakery depts. don't make any type of chocolate cake Donuts anymore? Thanks to all the staff

These grocery stores never have the rechargeable carts that work. Some of us people with medical conditions need these carts.

Always keeo an eye out for good deals. Its over all a pretty great experience though a few times have had issues with mispriced items or a member of staff adimently telling me she gave me the right change and even had to call a manager who said I was right (an item rang up wrong so I went to the help desk to have it fixed to which I had to return it and exchange it for the correct item. She gave a refund and wouldn't honor the coupon I used since I "already used it so I already had the discount taken out of my total" which was incorrect she refunded the original item price and didnt include a refund for the discount or return of the coupon and was quite rude and quite honestly wasnt listening because she felt she was right until the manager came over and said she was wrong. Whoever the lady is she doesnt just work at the help desk I see her all over the front end but she is the only reason I dont want to give a 5 star review. If you are working at the custimer service desk and a customer says something you dont think is right you dont talk condescendingly and get flustered at the customer you remain calm and if its not getting through to the customer you call a manager.

This store is old , outdated and dirty.The business has outgrown it’s physical footprint and is poorly managed.! Never enough staff in the deli. Place a cold cut order and it is never ready when it should be. End up waiting anyway for cold cuts never cut as requested. It seems they do not understand the word thin. First slice as requested then the balance much thicker, so they do not have to cut so much.Never enough sale items. Frequent mistakes on sales receipt going back for refunds is getting old!The store is too small! maybe needs to acquire the adjoining space, enlarge and get a complete facelift!Thank God for Stop and Shop and Big Y !!!!

The woman name NOLA at the customer service desk was rude and nasty . ShopRite need to work on their customer service. The closing manager was understanding. An item was put at the wrong spot so they had to honor the price . She made it seem like the money was coming out her pocket. If you don’t like your job that much then don’t work there .

Very annoying visit. Has to wait 20 minutes for seafood, cashier forgot to use coupons, so had to go to front desk. Nobody at the desk. Added close to half an hour to my shopping trip.

Not a bad place to shop. There are certainly nicer Shop Rites around but this store gets the job done. Absolutely better than any Stop n Shop.

DO NOT ORDER THROUGH SHOPRITE FOR PICKUP! My household placed and order through ShopRite pickup. Originally told us the order would be ready for 4pm, once 4:50pm came around we had became curious and drove down there to figure out what was going on. The polite gentleman told us not to worry that we would be getting our groceries and that he would make sure of it. It is now 7:17 pm. Now we have received a phone call saying we won’t be getting them until tomorrow. Then we call back after being hung up on just to be hung up on 2 more times. This is now the 2nd time we have had and issue with ShopRite pick up. It’s getting sickening that it takes hours to send people up and down the isles to grab groceries.

I’d say this Store is pretty nice. It’s located in a relatively decent area minus the overflow from New Haven. Parking is pretty decent as well although sometimes it can get over packed. The only thing that I don’t like which it has nothing to do with the store, is around the first of the month every month the local food stamp residence completely destroy the store as if it was Black Friday. Then it takes about a week or so to get everything restocked or so it seems. I feel that the store should be on top of this food stamp rush every month as it happens like clockwork. Therefore they should overstock on all of the items that get routinely gobbled up by the EBT folks. Then they should restock the items AFTER the rush. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Great staff. Really fresh food and the store bakery is awesome! Only thing I mark the store down for is the cleanliness of the bathrooms. I don't fault the employees, management is should be able to schedule regular cleaning. In fact I feel sorry for the employees using this restroom, parents with small children using this bathroom, and any food shopper hoping to practice good hygiene. Not sure the temperature of the automatic faucet's water meets health codes.

Do not do shop rite from home pick up unless you want to wait forever they apparently don’t care about the time window at all. Seriously had me waiting for an hour for my order my pick up was at 3:00pm arrived and was told they were going to work on it and ended up taking them an hour. Had to call at 3:30 and they said they would start working on it. Waste of time & extra money for the service. Will never be going back to this store!

I'm not an experienced shopper but was able to navigate the store fairly easily. When I had a question I had quick friendly assistance. Good experience all around.Also, for the area, they have their recycling equipment running just one of the few that are allowing returns. They're are some guidelines,bring a mask and some patience.

Found very helpful staff with selection on a few items limited, but sale items were not scarce. The store is easy to move through and the bakery has some tasty goodies.Prices on non sale items are competitive, and prices for sale items are very good.

Staff is courteous and helpful, but seriously lacking in numbers. There were maybe 4 checkout lanes on a Saturday afternoon, so I spent more time standing line than I did actually shopping. Self checkout is only for 20 items or less.

Super busy for Thanksgiving obviously. But decent service and you can do special orders with the deli/fish counters if that's what you need. Thanksgiving orders are available. And there's pie! :) But hurry before they're out of Cool Whip!!! :)

This store is lacking competent employees with a positive dedication to their customers. Unfortunately this will be my last time ever stepping into this store. Thankfully there is a Stop n Shop in East Haven, CT that I can go to. I was told in the middle of checking out at the self check out by the employee working it, that I should have not been there because ALL of their self check out cashiers are only for "20" items or less. I did not realize that this is a store policy now. I always go to the self check out, also there were only 3 cashiers open with long lines. There was noone at the self check out, and like I said I always go to it because 1. I like to bag my own items, and 2. the less people that touch my groceries the safer I feel with COVID still around. The self check out employee then proceeded to inform me that her manager had written her up this week for not monitoring people well enough with having 20 items or less in their carts when checking out at the self check out cashiers. I find this to be a disgraces since it is CLEAR AS DAY that the store is in dire need of employees, with hiring signs everywhere. Also once again, when did this become a policy? Stop and Shop, Target, Walmart other stores do not have this policy. I was then told that I could not use my coupons that Shop Rite sent me in the mail. I had her take off those items since I could not use the coupons. And quite frankly I should have just left my groceries and the $76 I spent and given my business to Stop n Shop instead. It is frustrating that I could not peacefully grocery shop without being hassled for my "34" items...well actually "30" items since I had the employee take off the 4 items since I could not use the coupons. Unbelievable.

The store itself is great - however the home delivery for groceries is getting the one star. I have had multiple issues with the products given - rotten meat, rotten produce, spoiled milk, and today cheese that was 2 weeks past the sell by date. I will never ever use the home delivery service again. This is ur customers hard earned money and this service should be 100% customer satisfaction.

This place was crowded. Not sure if it was because it was a weekend. Sunday at 5ish. The staff is friendly. My cashier was especially sweet. Glad they had multiple registers open and that they were pretty well stocked. Store was clean as well. Just lots of people.

The only reason i shop at this store is prices, it's not for a pleasant atmosphere. Workers don't seemed to care 1 bit about the jobs that they perform, they are always miserable and not helpful. The new self check out is a joker, the whole process just doesn't flow, everyone using them need help all the time. They are always stocking shelves at the most busiest times, with pallets and employees in the way and they act like you are in their way. This store could use some first class management to oversee the whole operations.

I am not local to CT, so the first thing I had to get used to was the sticker shock of how much groceries cost. That was the most notable item of the visit. The rest was...meh. I was asked to update my review...I have frequented this store store couple of times in the past week. My initial review stands. Still no change.

I like the club store items that are offered to customers without having to pay membership prices ( for instance, Sam's Club). You can get the big packages of frozen food, items containers of mayo, etc. AND purchase STURDY shopping bags. Not the flimsy shopping bags that are available at other stores.Weekly sales are excellent with affordable prices. The weekly digital and the print coupons offer extra savings. Really hard working employees whenever I shop at the store.
