Adams is a nice well stocked supermarket. They have many of the basics and also some very interesting items. Their bakery has many bargains and some fantastic muffins. Wave at the lobsters, they might wave back.

Great local place for residents to go that live in the area without having to go to Old Saybrook. They have their own brand of coffee that is cheap and amazing and the Greek yogurt they get is probably the most spot on to what I've had in Greece.

Nice little IGA. I was a little disappointed to see they no longer offer the huge amount of pre-made (in-store) meals that used to have, but there are a few options still available. Great beer selection! Prices are a little more than the large grocery stores, but they just don't have the buying power and sales volume the larger chain supermarkets have.The deli is well stocked. No, they don't have Boar's Head products, and I'm glad. While Boar's Head products are usually excellent, their marketing strategy is such that they won't provide product to smaller stores unless the store agrees to sell only Boar's Head products, which can be very expensive. This store bakes their own turkey breast, which is VERY good!Good meat and chicken selection. They offer premium cuts as well as the basics.Produce selection was nice, looked good, fresh, and I haven't had a problem finding anything I needed.Overall a surprisingly large offering of food from a small neighborhood market. No, it's not a box store, and you might not find some specialty items, but let's get real-they can't offer everything. They do offer enough such that I needn't drive to another town to do all of my shopping. Also, the sales here keep your overall bill low if you shop the sales.

I've been going to this place since I was a little girl and the only time that they have ever failed me and my family was when we bought hamburger buns and the packaging was ripped and there was bite marks from mice all over the bread.

Not keen on how they've homogenized inventory over the last few years and deli is a last resort, but the staff, produce & bakery are all great. Really nice selection of fresh cut flowers too.

I personally only go in here when I need things in a pinch but after today I’ll never step foot in here again. Bought a fillet of salmon here today with a sell by date 4 days out. Went home immediately to go cook it and as soon as I opened the package my kitchen was filled with a rancid ammonia smell. The smell alone was enough to make me vomit. Upon inspection the fish was decomposing underneath. Clearly there are no standards or quality checks at this store. Take the extra 10 minutes and go to Big Y.

The Adam's Market was nice but they didn't have a lot of generic products in stocks. The prices were very high. We bought blueberry and strawberry pie filling and a can of strawberry whipped cream. The three items cost around $18.00. I thought this was extremely high for these items.

They pack a lot of choices in this small town grocery store. The produce section is impressive. It leads right tothe deli which has all the great meats and cheeses along with sandwiches, rotisserie food, prepackaged meals to grab and eat, heat and eat or you can get a variety of dishes and soups off the hot bar.Meats and seafoods including a lobster tank! Beer, etc, too!The bakery has all kinds of fresh breads and goodies.Don't bother to use the self checkouts until they get them debugged, but there are plenty of checkouts.

I’ve been going here all my life and I love this place. If you need groceries in deep river this is the place to go they have a wide variety of goods. They had ready mix pie crust that I had been looking alll over for!! I would say just check your produce (strawberries, raspberries or the fruits in those plastic containers) they sometimes have some mold so check them throughly!!! Staff is really nice and awesome! But overall amazing!!!

Small town feel where people all seem to know each other. Did fish once here many years ago but it had worms. The bakery is hit or miss I've had really good cakes but mist recently the cupcakes were super stale and at $2 each. I do like the roasts and ground beef and the hot bar always has good variety. Still prefer Stop and Shop for general shopping and River Valley for my steaks but for my summer cookouts and helium balloons this place works

It's not a physically large store therefore selection is somewhat limited, specifically produce. It is also a bit more expensive than larger chains because they can't accommodate large volume. Tuesdays are good for seniors as that is discount day but, make sure you ask at the register.

This used to be an excellent, albeit expensive, small supermatket. The new management has succeeded in getting rid of the top employees and dumbing down the choice of items for sale. Today, Sunday, even muffins are stale but not identified properly. Soon this place will be like a bad neighborhood 7-11. Shame!

High quality grocery store! They have it all and if they don't have it you don't need it... home made sushi , and sandwiches. Best meat you can buy , cold cut or pork , chicken ,ribs !! I would rate this store to Mquades and Publix better than stop and shop or shop rite . The staff is amazing and very helpful esp the meat counter! May be a little more expensive how ever you get quality with the price !

Wow! That woman who is the front end manager is out of control. Never, ever is at the counter to handle anything. She is always eating and saying that she is on break. Awful, I will never go back there again as long as she is working there.

First visit here and I was impressed! I needed a quick lunch and got in and out of this very clean and organized store without a wait! I got hot soup, a great sandwich and a box of snack cakes for my coworkers and had the best lunch ever for about $11. Best butternut squash bisqe!

Prices are better here than others - basically have the grocery market cornered in the area as they are the only grocery store for 3 small towns!! My only complaint would be that I require a service dog and when I went into the store, she, being a small dog, and the floors being very waxed and slippery for her to walk without slipping vs walking. I put her on a rug from my car inside a carriage. I was promptly told by a young man that I “ couldn’t bring my dog into the store as they had had multiple issues with the health department lately. Incredulously I looked at him, excuse me? I had never before been questioned while grocery shopping about my service dog. Then he informed me that I had to “ carry her and she couldn’t be inside the seated area of the carriage” where children’s bums sit !! At 60, I couldn’t believe this person actually not only expected me to carry my dog for an hour grocery shopping, but was giving me excuses upon excuses to leave the store, because of his “ numerous health department visits over that past week! ( I’d be interested in why the health department was there according to the young man so often that week? When I asked who he was and received no answer;then that I’d like to speak with the manager he replied he “ was the manager “ although after having shopped there for over 25 years, I’d never seen him prior either in the curtesy area, nor did he look much like the picture posted of the “ manager” on duty. He was polite enough in his selection of verbiage, but his topic and ability of understanding the law especially being “the manager “ regarding service animals was extremely lacking. I stopped my shopping, Tiring of his chirping and picked up my dog despite the pain doing so and left- enough said.

Good clean store with decent prices. Their store made chicken wings are absolutely delicious! Also, the bake shop makes excellent raspberry turnovers. Their donuts are generous in size and also delicious. You won't want to buy donuts from D&D once you have these.

Very convenient location for me on the way home. Small enough to be a high quality neighborhood store, big enough to have pretty much anything you need. Sometimes great lobster deals. Wednesday $5 sushi is a bonus.

I've been shopping at Adam's for 10 years and this morning was the first time a sales cashier was so rude and unhelpful. She just watched me bag my own groceries while she started ringing up the next customer. I clearly needed help, but she was just exasperated that I wasn't finished in time. Instead of helping me she just proceeded to ring the next customer's items which were starting to mingle with mine. Absolutely rude. Our bringing in our own bags now does not necessarily mean we have to bag everything ourselves. I'll go somewhere else where they are more helpful and aware of what customer service is.

I go to Adams at least twice a week. More often during the Summer months. I really like their specials which change every few days. You can almost always find a really good deal on something special and make a terrific meal at very reasonable prices. I also try to stock up on the specials such as frozen shrimp or canned goods. Their day old baked goods are marked down to half price and I either use them right away or freeze them and pull what ever I need front there. I am a fan and will continue to be one as long as they keep doing what they do.
