I visited Uncanny Collectables for the second time yesterday. It’s just a few doors down from where there was a short-lived comic book store many decades ago.As with many stores of this nature UC is really cluttered, but of course it cluttered with my favorite kind of stuff. The store guard, a small, loud dog named Remy, greeted me a little over enthusiastically. The owner was nice and let me browse. Some young guys were getting ready to play a CCG (maybe MtG, not sure I’m out of the game for 20+ years). I decided to focus on NES games rather than comics for this trip, and picked out a few loose games and an AV adapter is been needing. Also, a CIB Colecovision Time Pilot. The owner prices dynamically which is controversial for many buyers (in comics and in video games, at least). I didn’t care, the shop has to make money.I was ok with the prices and he gave me a break from the online pricing in any event. I love having multiple choices in shops like this around the area and am happy to support a local small business in Danielson, stomping grounds from my youth in the 80’s.

I stopped by here once.. amazing atmosphere, the owners awesome.. and the pricing is actually pretty good.. it's practically nerd heaven.. was gonna ask if you were accepting job applications but opted out.. and wasn't sure.. but yeah, awesome place as a huge lifelong nerd with a love and passion for comics, superheroes, and collectibles.. this is the place to be..

Great little gem, hiding on Main Steet Danielson. Lots of cool collectibles. 2 sides to the store. Looks a little chaotic inside, but think it's fairly organized, I'm sure the owner David knows where everything there. If I still lived in the area I could see myself hanging out and talking shop in there quite often. There were also some tables set up, which I'm sure they probably host different games like Magic, Warhammer, etc. Think it holds more true to a collectable store than comic, which is cool since not many of these around. Did carry some comics from local artists, which is great, more places need to push new up and coming artists. If your looking for something to complete a collection or old video games, POP, action figure, Pokémon, gaming supplies and so on, this should be your 1st stop.

The one star is for the companion dog. Very disappointed in this business. Yes, tons of comics in this store as well as collectibles, but here is the deal: A business that fails to put prices on its products is just lazy. My husband has been a collector for over 50 years. Uncanny Collectibles could have made a fortune today, but the total lack of professionalism and lackadaisical approach to business was a complete turn-off. The whole "priced according to internet" is a scam. This is not the stock market. The business owner is sitting behind the counter all day twiddling thumbs. Use that time to price your merchandise. And, based upon owner responses to previous negative comments, yes, we will certainly go elsewhere to professional businesses as apparently our money is not wanted here. This place is a total waste of time for collectors.

Don't go here unless you like the owner yelling about conspiracies or loudly watching political videos. He also yells at his dog rather than actually training it. It's overall super unprofessional. I have seen the owner yell people out of the store for wearing masks during the height of covid. Whole store stinks of body odor and feet. There's dog poop in the corners. Political opinions should be kept out of your business. I don't care if we share an opinion of differ on it, keep it put of your store.

Best card and collectible shop in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut don't waste your time with any other shop nearly Killingly/Putnam. Owner is cool, shop is clean. Card binders are very well organized. If you are looking for interesting MTG cards this is the place to go!

I feel as if there really isn’t any places, that have a variety of options like uncanny collectibles! Atleast not around in this area, stopped by yesterday an ended up finding Harley Quinn stuff and overall just absolutely loved it. Cant wait to go back again, the place is lovely! And definitely a great place to check out. :)

The owner is a real nerd in the best way. He's got a great collection to go through. They sell singles of cards. I went through a ton of binders, with no one over my shoulder unless I had a question. Fair prices too, I checked same day.

My boyfriend and I had visted recently for the first time. Everything was sorta all over the place but it honestly made it so much more interesting to look through. We ended up buying this cool pennywise holding a bowl and some mini NBC mugs which I added to my collection. Only met the owner briefly but he seemed very nice. Will definitely be stopping in again to look for more NBC collectibles.

Since moving down July 2021, I find myself always going in here -especially when I have my son who loves selection. Never any issues or problems at all. Great staff. My son just purchased a PS2 today in fact and didn't want to buy it from anywhere else.

I understand that a owner would be looking over your shoulder while u looked around but this owner made me feel like myself and grandchildren were being watch, we are honest family no need to make it obvious we are being watch while shopping, I won't go back and spend any money there

I just visited Uncanny Collectables for the first time this week. It was way more than I expected - such a fun store with so many different things to look at! The guys who work there are great and the owner is super friendly and hilarious. It's definitely an amazing place to check out and I will be returning again for sure. I'm so glad I made the drive down from Providence - truly a very cool find!

This is a great shop!!!! My husband and step sons go here every weekend to buy their magic cards and talk with David. He is great and knowledgeable about everything nerdy. If he doesn’t have it he will find it for you. If you haven’t been to yet I suggest you go it’s a fun little spot and the dog it great too!!

I was in a tight spot and needed to come up with an extra $60 bucks fast and I brought over some of my walking dead pops to see if the owner was interested in taking them off my hands, as much as I didn't want to see them go and he didn't really need them, he purchased them from me for more than what I needed and even let me take back the main one I didn't really want to get rid of. Myself and my fiance are extremely grateful and will always have our support customers. Thank you so much Dave:-)

Great 1st experiences, the owner was engaging and the store offers a large selection of various items and is “close by”. The guy helping him out did a great job quickly climbing up & down the ladder to grab items off displays for my son to check out. Can’t wait to see what year 6 brings.

its truly the one stop nerd shop, vintage to new its all there from comics, games, and collectibles to art, toys and apparel something for everyone, David the owner is a great guy with charisma and patients. the atmosphere is very friendly and is welcoming to all. I see some of the negative reviews and know they are false the place is huge the selection is deep and the prices are the best around. also comparing a one man show to a nation wide store brand is rediculous, gamestop is way to over priced and so is wonderland out in putnam that place is a shodow of its former glory. the best nerd shop in the northern east corner of Connecticut is uncanny collectibles hands down period.

Found this amazing comic book shop Saturday when I was doing an event up the street. Amazing comic book selection and a great selection of back issues also you won't be disappointed. Magic the gathering being played and plenty of tables to play. A great selection of dvd's cheap, figs, pops, and anything possible. David was helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely be back here again.

It smells like sweat and mayo in there the person who worked there very unhygienic could of sworn I seen a roach on the ground if you don't like nasty smells don't go in there I mean it's pretty easy to not smell bad but I guess it's rocket science to them

I came to look for various game items, and some books. When asking the price of an item, he gave a ballpark estimate, but then checked his computer for the prices on ebay and offered those prices instead.I felt the ebay price was a little too high, and honestly it hadn't make sense to me that he wouldn't at least try and sell it for a few dollars cheaper in order to stay competitive, when I felt I could have just bought the item on ebay itself at that point instead.It also seems to me he is much more intent on selling the after market items, which doesn't have as much quality as the official game devices.When I saw that there was a box that had official n64 controllers behind the counter, I asked if he would be willing to sell me any, he said he would not without the purchase of an actual game console since he described them as 'packed in'.I was already wary of this, since the official controllers all just seemed thrown in a box, especially when N64 controllers are known to be notoriously fragile, and we'd been looking for an official one in good shape for the past few weeks.While I was overall displeased with my past few visits, there were many wonderful items there that I really enjoyed browsing. I bought two books that were for a good price that caught my eye (mostly because I don't think they had a price on ebay).Right now there isn't many good collectible stores around where we live. And with Covid, other stores I visited were forced to close down. Maybe with slightly more competitive pricing, and perhaps better care and accessibility to their stock I would consider visiting more. They do have a very friendly dog though.

Great place! Lots of comics, action figures, pokemon cards, magic the gathering, collectibles, older gaming systems with games. If you're looking for it I'm sure the owner David has it! Really great guy!

When I went there the owner wasn’t wearing a mask and coughing all over the place, hardly covering his mouth. It sounded very unpleasant and also used foul language which I don’t think is appropriate for a business. Also looking into the owners responses at some of these reviews, I’d say he does not care about his customers what so ever. If he has a change of attitude we’d be happy to bring him some business but until then, no thank you.....in response to you...my point exactly.
