Sometimes I prefer Big Y over shopping at Walmart. Their produce and meats are better. Shop the sales because they have good sales/deals. Staff is always pleasant. The store is always clean & well stocked.

Best grocery store in the area, the eullusive 5th star isn't really due to a faulty they can control. I just wish the waste water plant wasn't next door lingering. Scrub and soak all produce that gets to be wafted on by that fresh air, the odor especially in the summer time is oppressive.

This place Has one large flaw... it’s right by the sewage treatment plant. It is very disgusting on hot and humid days. But they also have the stockers cramming the shelves with products, so much so, that things are almost designed to fall over. I actually took a pic as an example from today’s visit. Also you never know what will be open for registers. Could be only one open at 630pm, which when it gets busy, they call someone off the floor to ring people out. By then, you’ve already been standing there for 10 minutes, and your ice cream goes soft. Just my 2 cents. 😊

Have always had great service at Big Y until I started ordering grinders at the kitchen. The manager is rude, angry and will talk about how you are inconvenient to them right in front of you. Still go there but this person should not be allowed to interact with people. Update: this has seemed to change, wonderful customer service the past two weeks.

The Pizza department is always amazing. They are accommodating, courteous and polite. Whenever I have a group of people over, the pizza department makes me look like a rock star! Food is delicious and price is fair.

No love to be found in our large pizza. Soggy pizza crust, tasteless sauce. All you could really taste were banana peppers and black olives. Barely any pepperoni. Cheese was very little and bland. Where is the love? Where are the layers of flavor?

The store was a little dated, but still pretty nice. They had a good offering of some less common products, like the German Chocolate flavor of Gifford's Famous Ice Cream. The prices were surprisingly competitive. Finally, the staff was fantastic and friendly.

Having never been in Big Y before, I had no idea what to expect. However, I was surprised and impressed by the experience. I found what I was looking for and the staff assisting me check out were friendly and helpful. With the cost of living sliding up, it was nice to see competitive and fair prices as well.

Great selection, helpful employees, and an amazing membership with great discounts. My only complaint is the lack of cashiers and especially lack of baggers. With the quality and variety you find here, I suppose it's worth the trade off, but.. Just expect to spend an extra 10-15 minutes whenever you're here just to check out.

They also have a great variety of groceries inside as well as soups and hot foods from slices of pizza to Stromboli to fish and chips to deli made sandwiches or every a pastry section for cakes cookies donuts etc. This store has lots of items to choose from.

I would give the meat selection 4 stars and there store made chicken noddle 5 stars! But the prices are even more expensive the stop n shop but the selection on grocery is in matched! 3 stars for pricing 👎🏻 but as I said the butcher shop gets 5 Alllll day long! Delicious!

Big y is an OK place even tho I feel like most of the things in store are very overpriced like inflation on top of inflation anyways like maybe little over a week ago I went to the grinder making section and ordered 2 wraps and the guy who made them his name was Craig I believe they were so small like u could eat just one wrap in like 3 or 4 bites he was cheap on everything like it was coming out his pocket ultimately I gave them to front counter and complained I'm not spending 12 bucks on 2 wraps with basically nothing in it

I have been going to this store since they opened in 1995. What brings me back time and again is the quality of their produce, butchery, fish market, deli, dairy, and bakery. If you only walk the perimeter, which you should do, then you will miss some great products that are available in our local Big Y. They never disappoint.I have been going here long enough that I know where everything is and I and make my way through quickly. Rarely do I have to double back. They always have a bagger available and they know what their doing. My groceries always make it safely home.

Clean spacious and all your fresh fruits,vegetables also other household items an guys you can get alcoholic beverages here too. Everything you need is just at your hand reach. I buy all my vegan dishes and items from Big Y they have a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian foods. Great place to shop 👍

Nice clean store. Pay attention to the buy one get one free deals. It's all about the unit pricing it's not always what it seems to be. Yellow tag meats are the way to go to save money.

We found a wallet outside and brought it to the service desk and asked the woman to please page the owner. She refused, she said I will just leave it here. We repeated our request and expressed to do it so the owner wasn't frantic. She refused. Tell me why? Did she plan to steal the money? Did she not care enough about someone being worried? It was a simple request, would have taken all of 3 seconds. Extremely rude!!!! Extremely poor customer service!!! I hope 1 day, the service desk attendant doesn't lose her wallet.

0 stars if I could. Cashier told me to go to the service desk to sign up for a big Y card (which is the only thing that makes big Y even reasonably priced,) said he would wait, and then proceeded to check my order out at full price as i (literally) jogged back to the register. Signing up for the card might have been faster if they'd had any actual cards or if the service guy bothered to help me instead of the 3 people who walked up behind me. Needless to say, big Y is not extraordinarily concerned with customer service. First time and last time shopping there. I'll stick with stop and shop👍

This is specifically for the seafood department.. 2 stars because the fish and chips is delicious. However, I am disappointed that we just went to order 2 fish and chips at 7:13pm and were told it’s Wednesday so it’s “case day” and she already threw out all the batter. This is the second time we’ve had issues ordering fish and chips around this time in the evening and received a poor attitude both times. Why stay open til 8pm if you’re not willing to serve? So frustrating.
