Collinsville Canoe and Kayak is a perfect example of what makes a small independent business thrive and why we need them. Their product selection is excellent and they only sell what they believe in. The customer service is superb in both politeness, product knowledge and experience. I bought my current boat ( an Old Town Sportsman) from them during the early CoVID years . Before I bought my kayak from Collinsville (which was my second kayak) I took the intro to paddling course. I learned more in that short lesson than I might have in a season on my own . I have been back since to buy accessories, installation of fish finder wiring and anchors, paddles, PFD,’s etc. Owners Sue and Jon do a great job and their combined expertise will only help your boating skills and enjoyment . You get sound advice here and a boat that suits you and that you will be happy with .

The staff at Collinsville Canoe & Kayak are top notch. They assisted us in loading our old town kayaks and explained all the features of them before we left. They have a wide selection of kayaks and accessories. They are a local old town dealer and we’re the closest to us in Upstate NY (Albany). Can’t say enough good things!

Incredible place to rent Canoes, Kayaks and paddle boards. For purchases they have an incredible selection of Canoes. Absolutely loved checking out their construction and quality. Prices are reasonable for renting pretty much any road or water activities. We had a lovely time on the Farmington river.

Ben and the ladies behind the counter couldn't have been more wonderful. All are very knowledgeable and there was no pressure whatsoever to buy anything. Walked away with 2 oldtown sportsman pdls that were delivered by the staff to where I needed! Their kayaks are stored indoors away from the elements making sure you get a pristine boat when you buy.

Great store and amazing location . I took a SUP lesson here and everyone was very nice and helpful. The Farmington river where you paddle is amazing! It was a Saturday afternoon and the river was quite busy but that was expected. Only porta potty as a restroom so take that into consideration before coming.

Enjoyable l. get you exercise in! I only did the kayaking so based on that there isn't much going on , you go up the stream and soon you have to head back , takes 30 min up and 30 mins back . It's ok😐

On my way home from work one evening I noticed Collinsville Canoe and Kayak was still open. I swung in to pick up a couple accessories quick as they were closing. While there, in conversation I mentioned how I was always interested in the new pedal fishing kayaks. Even though they were trying to close as it was after hours they spent time explaining the different models and available options and never once did I feel rushed. Long story short, I purchased a Big Water 132 PDL that night. I was so happy with the kayak and sales experience we went back the following day and purchased my girlfriend a Sportsman 120 PDL! They definitely went above and beyond. 5 Stars!

The best place to buy a canoe or kayak! My boyfriend and I just went in and he bought an old town salty pedal. While we are experienced lake kayakers this was our first time buying a large ocean kayak and strapping it to a roof rack. John and an older woman(didn’t get her name) went out of their way to set us up with the correct equipment and even taught us how tie the best knots and gave us some bungee cord to use. We drove 2 hours and it was well worth the trip!!! Highly recommend to anyone no matter what level of experience.

Staff is very helpful and friendly. You can sign up for classes or just rent equipments from them. The river is very calm for standing paddle boarding.

This is a fantastic option for people who want to experience the river! They provide basically everything you need and the parking lot is right next to the rental house. Don't forget a dry bag for your phone and valuables!

Edit to your reply: yikes, I can’t possibly see how you have a business this long yet you are so openly dishonest to say that you had asked me a few questions, but I would not reply. You literally just took my review and turned it around to say what you did wrong is what I did?! You did not ask me any questions, you said 3 sentences to me and that was our entire conversation. I had asked you if you could answer my question in regard to weight limit of the boat depending on the persons weight and you told me that I needed to come down there to shop. I then said so that’s not a question that you can answer over the phone, and you said no you need to come in and shop. The person that I’m shopping for wouldn’t even be there to do all of the things that you’re saying is best to do when buying a kayak the things you just listed had no relevance to my question. I simply asked a generic question, in which you couldn’t answer you wanted me to come down to the shop. if you truly do have a medical condition, I am sorry, but I have never heard of a medical condition being one where you are ‘chronically’ stuffed up, sniffling, and coughing without being contagious. As a business owner myself, I’m actually a palled at your response to try and turn the blame on me and use the tactic “I’ve been in business for X amount of years” and “based on my reviews, etc.” simply just own up to it, the reply is confirmation in which I should not have ever gone down there thank you.I called the other day inquiring about information on kayaks such as what rules to follow when it comes to weight limits for a person of said weight. The lady who answered the phone was very short and some what rude and certainly unhelpful. She would not answer my question her only response was to come down and check out the shop and to purchase with them. Regardless of where I'm purchasing someone would have to answer my question and clearly they only care if you do business with them. A simply question that could be answered over the phone turned into I can only help you if you come here. Now mind you the kayak I would be purchasing is not for myself and what difference would it make over the phone or in person, this gave me no desire to waste my time going down there, especially when she answered the phone hacking up a lung and sounded extremely congested and sick. All the more reason to stay away. The interaction just gave me a bad taste for their business and left me no desire to purchase for them. Thankfully other local shops were able to help me over the phone in which I have plans to visit a few of those locations this weekend.

Visited in November and kept in touch with the team at Collinsville through customization and ordering my canoe. I have other experience with outfitters and pro shops and am confident saying the team in Collinsville is peerless when it comes to educating and outfitting people for personal watercraft. My wife collected my boat in early January and it is perfectly meeting my needs.

First time at Collinsville Canoe and Kayak and was not disappointed! The staff were awesome and it was super simple to just show up with our reservation information and get into canoe. Water was nice and calm. We brought our rods and caught nice size trout as well. My only complaint was there wasn’t that far too canoe to. The boundaries were somewhat limiting.

Love Collinsville Canoe and Kayak! Our son has been coming here the past few years for paddling camp and loves it. The counselors and staff are so fun and the kids have a blast. He never wants to leave! Highly recommend for a day trip renting a paddle board or for a week long half day camp for your kiddo. Our son is 12 and he thinks its awesome!

Such a wonderful kayak purchase experience! Tyler helped me decide on what to buy, John did an excellent rack install and Melissa helped me finalise accessories and paddle and got my new Swift Adirondack 12LT tied on for the ride home. Can’t wait to get my new boat on the water!

Such a great experience here. Took an intro to kayaking lesson and Kristy could not have been more supportive and encouraging as an instructor. I walked away feeling very confident and learned some tricks as well. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

My experience with CC &K was a bit different then other reports, perhaps. I have had an older version of a Thule Hullivator for many years. It was designed to attach to square crossbars. I recently bought a new Subaru Forester, and it has aero type crossbars. The staff at CC&K was extraordinarily patient and generous with their time in helping me come up with the right solution to my problem. Always knowledgeable, always friendly, and always wanting to secure customer satisfaction.
