The hovering and constant “…need help?” from employees is repulsive. I have not been to this location in years for this exact reason. I happen to be in the area and tried again. The store is beyond worse than it was before. I understand good, quality customer service, but this is almost comical. Rather drive to other locations.

Always a pleasant experience at this store, pricing isn’t Home Depot but, customer service is top notch. Picked up some supplies for wood burning(Blowtorch and smaller blowtorch for detail work) see pictures

Great people, and they've always had what I needed. Tools, paints, bird seeds, drill bits, nails, screws, saw blades, shovels, you name it. Always someone there who knows a bit of what they are talking about, and they are actually helpful. I've never gotten lumber here but they have some. After going here you won't want to go the home depot anymore, Home depot is not worth the 2 bucks you might save to deal with unskilled people who aren't nice nor helpful.

I know the point of the employee meeting you at the door is to improve customer service, but I think it stops people from wandering around and seeing a lot of things they would not have, had someone led them directly to it they were looking for. Well-stocked store

Ben- was extremely helpful when I was in your store. I needed to find specific screws to fix patio chairs. Ben assisted in fitting the screws in which was a Godsend bc the first ones we thought would work- didn’t, so I would have gotten home and struggled with it, requiring a second trip. I tried to tip Ben, but he wouldn’t have any part of it.I come to your store often. I have to say, it is always a pleasant experience. All of your staff is helpful. I'm redoing the bathroom floor at my place and went to the home depot first to find a flange extender for a toilet..no help and clueless employees. Then I called up Ace and was greeted on the phone by a very friendly Lady by the name of Maura. When I arrived at the store she asked if I was the one on the phone to which I said yes. She then showed me where everything was that I was looking for and knew all the answers to all of my questions. I don't know why I didn't go to the location in my hometown first, won't be doing that again. If you need anything she's the one to go to, very knowledgeable and very friendly definite five star experience!!

Very friendly, helpful, and they have a decent inventory. Prices are pretty reasonable for a small town HW store. The downside is they are never open past 6PM on any evening, meaning forced trips to Home Depot/Lowe's for anyone working around the house in the evenings or that can't get there directly after work! You'd think they would be open until at least 7PM!

I can’t speak highly enough of stewards ace. There’s always someone to greet you and they’re more than happy to walk you over to exactly what you’re looking for. Extremely helpful problem solvers if you aren’t quite sure what you’re doing or looking for. Very knowledgeable. The staff always has a smile on their face and are more than willing to assist. Couldn’t feel more valued as a customer here. Would give 10 stars if I could. Oh and the prices are very reasonable, especially if you’re loyal and use the free rewards program!

Great "no-contact" shopping!!! I like the ability to shop on-line through the Ace Website and pay using PayPal. All local sale items are included as well. The order is usually filled promptly at the store with an "order filled" email. I simply drive around back and call the store. My order is placed in the trunk with no contact or concern with in-store social distancing..

Steward's staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They great you within seconds of walking through the door! Their prices are reasonable and I would much rather shop there than the big box stores.👍

We just moved to Clinton Ct. I have been to Ace Hardware 4 times now and each time associates were always friendly and quick to offer assistance!! I was blown away! I was used to the big box home improvement stores, you know who they are. No associates anywhere and if I was lucky to find one most of the time they were clueless on how to help me! Great job ladies and men at Ace Hardware Clinton Ct!

The folks here could not be more helpful. I feel like Norm walking into Cheers. As soon as you set foot in the store everyone says Hi, can I help you. Great shopping experience. Only downside is leaving the parking lot and turning left onto Rt 1 in ‘rush’ hour. So turn right then make immediate left and go around Linerty Green. That’s what a lot of folks do.

Stewards Ace Hardware has been a solid Clinton business that has been in business since 2007. The people there are very kind, friendly, energetic, helpful and will go out of their way to help you find what you need and help you find the right place for what you're looking for. Not to mention, they are very generous and give an awful lot back to the community, especially the Police and Fire Departments. Clinton is very fortunate to have Stewards Ace Hardware in town to serve the home improvement and hardware needs of Clinton and the shoreline.

Always a pleasure!I found Stewards Hardware during an open house shortly after they opened. I've been shopping there pretty much exclusively ever since. I'm a big 'do-it-yourselfer' and family guy. It's like this store was built for me. It's a family owned business and they treat my family like their own whenever I'm there. They are always quick to offer help and suggestions for the projects I'm tackling. Even the employees who may not have the answers know enough to check in with someone who does. Their prices are always right in line (or better) with the 'big box' stores. And typically when everyone else is sold out of something (generators, pumps, flashlights) they somehow are always ready to restock. I can't speak highly enough about them and absolutely never hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.

Every time I go to Steward's Hardware I enjoy my visit.The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.The store is old fashioned enough to still feel like a mom and pop shop and modern enough to make shopping for things like matching paint that you have purchased there before very convenient.I have never been disappointed at Steward's.

Will tell you they’re getting something then don’t. I’ve been in there three times now trying to get a spare key made and each time was told they’re getting it within the next couple days. It feels to me they are told to say this regardless if they are getting said product again. Taking my business to true value it’s a little further away but they keep their word when telling you something is going to be there

Either their on top of you at the door or they ignore you. Cashier was unfriendly and looked more interested looking outside. Will only go there for emergencies.Update: Still not comfortable shopping there. If it's my last resort I will go to a big box chain. The town of Clinton does not have a big mix so I stand out like a sore thumb. Just the feeling of being watched is not nice. When I shop I compare items to see what is best for me but I get the feeling of constant hovering. They strike me as nice but I just get the feeling I don't belong which is a shame since we've lived there for over 15 years.
