I haven’t shopped at a big box hardware store since I moved to the Cheshire area 5 years ago. Hines Ace hardware always has everything I need and the service is second to none. Within minutes of walking in someone usually passes by asking if I need help. Can’t tell you how many times previously I would wander around a big box desperately looking for a free worker only to hear them say it was not their area and then having to wait a LONG TIME for someone to come. Shout out to Hines Ace employee Sam who helped me the other day when I needed a special screw, washer and socket for a car repair. Sam saved me a good half hour of searching for the materials I needed. Ace also sends me discount coupons every month that provide great savings. I set a high bar for retail and customer service. Hines Ace Hardware hands down deserves all 5 stars!

I am amazed at the wonderful customer service at Ace Hardware. They went above and beyond for my family. Huge thanks to Matt for being so kind and patient while trying to fix my mom’s car key. Everyone in the store was so friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!

Picked up a Gozney Dome pizza oven from here and had the best experience ever. It was kind of an impulse purchase for my birthday so I wanted it same day instead of waiting for it to ship. I live in Northeastern CT so this store was about 1.5 hours from me, but they were the only ones with it in stock. I checked several MA, RI, CT ACEs and a couple home depots. Soo happy I pulled the trigger because not only was it the best price, but it was hands down the best customer service I've ever received. The owner, Pat made sure we had everything we needed and showed us videos of his son using the Dome and even texted us the videos. His employees were very friendly and super helpful before and after Pat got there. I'd definitely make the drive again if I ever need anything from ACE. Highly recommended.

Big shout out to Charles who helped me with the tools I needed to repair my springer fork for my bicycle. He recommended a perfect size drill bit for the job I needed. I wish I could give this place a 10-star. Great employees there. Homage to Dillian too, from Cheshire cycle who recommended this place when I told him the issues I was having with my bicycle.

I stopped in to get some fertilizer on 10/14/23. This was the best hardware store experience I have had in years. I normally go to Home Depot but they don’t carry the fertilizer that I wanted. When me and my young daughter walked in we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. One young man asked what I was looking for. Once I told him the product, he insisted that he get it so I didn’t need to carry my daughter across the store. After I paid for it he carried both bags out to my car for me as well. I thought that this type of service didn’t exist anymore. R W Hine provided me wrong. I will be driving the extra 5-10 minutes to this store to support this great establishment.

Definitely one of my favorite hardware stores around. Every employee you run into asks you if there's anything they can do to help you. Large selection of pretty much anything you're looking for. Very clean and organized

This store is quite large. Hard to find what you are looking for if you don't know where it is but staff is very willing to help and knowledgeable. We went there for car mats and couldn't find them. We asked a staff associate for help and we were told he wasn't sure if they carried them but offered to take us to the place they would be if they did and sure enough they were exactly where he said they'd be.They have 1 or 2 handicap parking spaces and the place is generally busy but they have such a large number of items I would be surprised if you couldn't find what you need.

Great hardware store. Ordered a grill through them, it was delivered 2 days earlier than expected but was missing an item I added on. Called the store and the person I spoke with took care of it immediately, they sent someone out shortly after with the item and delivered it that same day.

Hines Hardware is a well known place in Cheshire. They have everything within the walls of that store. I have shopped there for years. If they do not have it, then nobody does. It is a great store and always very busy👌. They always have just what you need.

I just came back from Hine Hardware and I have to thank the great group of young people that were there at 8:00 on a Sunday morning. I needed some hardware to finish a gazebo I was working on and as soon as I entered the store I had a young man ask me if I needed help. Within 5 minutes I was squared away. Not only do they have everything anybody could possibly want, they are a bunch of nice folks.

As a born and raised Cheshire resident, having this in the center of town can be VERY convenient when you need a quick thing to finish a project. I find the selection varies from "I can't believe they have this" to "I can believe they don't have this," so it's worth a stop before you drive somewhere else. Prices are higher, so big purchases I'd make elsewhere, but again there aren't any other 'close' options so often this is a first stop.

When I need something quickly when it comes to repairing my home, this hardware store always has what I need. Employees are always very willing to help, but double check they are processing your coupons correctly. Still the best place around to stock up on bird food!

They have all you need and they give you the feel of a small hometown hardware store that makes you feel like your from there.I even saw a machine that automatically sharpens large knives.I have a real old A@P butchers knife ill bring back to life

I love Hines! They have the best employees! They are always helpful and know where to find the item that is needed. The paint section has knowledgeable people behind the counter that can mix up the right shade of color. This store is a hidden gem in our small town!

No matter that some say that Home Depot, Lowes, etc., have cheaper prices. It does not matter. R W Hine is one of those great stores that are otherwise disappearing from our midst. Do business there and understand why it's great to deal with humans.

Was very happy with price and customer service, but management turned me off totally. Went in as an Ace rewards member expecting free assembly and delivery as they advertise they participate in the rewards program. An extremely polite young man told me they typically only deliver to neighboring towns (I live 17 miles away). I said, I am spending $1200.00, perhaps I could speak to a manager to see if they’ll honor what they advertise. He left to see the manager, and rather than return with the young gentleman, the manager sent him back alone to tell me no. Since, this was the only establishment in the area that had the product I wanted, I was stuck if I wanted it so I bought it anyway. The young gentleman and another young associate took the time to disassemble enough of the product to get it into my car. He then made sure to inform me that they carry all the accessories. I thanked him for being so polite, professional and helpful. Then told him that he could let his manager know that he had lost a customer for life, and that after today, I will never again step foot in this store.UPDATE: Received a call from a very apologetic store owner. He assured me that he spoke to the managers of the store and used it as a teaching opportunity. He didn't have to do that, but it was a very classy thing to do. I have confidence they'll make the adjustments to prevent this from happening again. BTW - The Grill is AWESOME!

"If we don't have it, you don't need it".Chances are, they have it. This place has been here since 1901? Somewhere around there. They're still here, because they did hardware right.The staff is polite and helpful. Prices are sometimes cheaper that Lowes, or Home Depot.And, seriously, they more than likely have what you're looking for.Support your local business, and visit there.

Very attentive and friendly staff, it's not the closest hardware store near me but I really like the quality of service at this shop. Plenty of parking, clean and organized inside and as an added bonus, they even carried my purchases to my car (5 gallon bucket of paint).

They bait and switch. Located the sump pump check valve that I need online. Price was $8.99. Called the store to verify that they had the valve. When to that store ACE Hardware Hines and was charged $11.99. When I question the elderly cashier about the price, she immediately informed me that price is for online orders only. Problem, it does not disclose that online nor when I called and explained to the store, with the part number and how I located valve. I will not shop nor deal with dishonest merchants. Update. I was refunded and was charged the online price. I thank this ACE Hardware to take appropriate action on this complaint.

Great place to find stuff fast, helpful staff to guide you thru a vast array of SAE/Metric nuts and bolts, paint department has it all incl Ben Moore with exact color match reader to get that color RIGHTOn my most recent visit, I did a return with receipt and cashier did it very swiftly then I was greeted on the floor by another person who directed me to the lawn and gsrden area to find what I needed and was on my way following a quick checkout. Superb service!!
