I scheduled my dog at the kennel 4-5 weeks in advance. I had to prompt them to find out if my submission was even accepted. Then, five days before my wedding and when we were supposed to use the kennel, they told us we needed to do a bunch more things to allow our dog to stay, even though no one (not the vets or anyone at the kennel) mentioned it was necessarily or needed. He was up to date on vaccines and vet visits, but it wasn't enough. We hired a pet sitter who then told us this kennel barely even gives the animals any one on one time anyway. I'm glad we did not go with them. Their communication was sub-par at best.

I would not take my dogs anywhere but Roaring Brook. They love waking in the door and going to daycare or grooming. Staff really cares and Gina the groomer is the best in the valley.

Made an appointment for my dog over the phone for his “trial” to make sure he was a good fit. When I arrived I did not find anyone working there to be overly friendly or welcoming. I was told over the phone that my appointment was for 9 am today yet told when I arrived they don’t start until 9:30 - the person I spoke to on the phone also told me that they would be reaching out to my vet for the vaccine info and that was never done, so I had to scramble to get them records when I arrived. I am shocked this place has good ratings. I had a very bad first impression and will not be returning.

Gave my dog RINGWORM which is impossible to get rid of and very uncomfortable for my dog. Overall I think the kennels are unclean and unprofessional. They smell awful the second you walk in the door which no other kennels I’ve been to smell that bad. Only makes me think about what the kennels are like if it smells that strong in the lobby. They washed my dog and left her in the crate dryer for hours and she still smelled disgusting when I got her back. Would never board my dog here again or recommend to anyone. Very disappointed in this kennel.

I can't say enough good things about Roaring Brook Kennels, as well as Roaring Brook Vet. We have several cats who we boarded at the kennel for a couple of days when we moved. They were so well cared for. The practice cared for all of our cats and our dog. They provided the best quality, compassionate care for our pets throughout all stages of their lives. And then there's their groomer, Gina. Best. Groomer. Ever. She truly cares for all of her furry clients and is truly the best in her field with both dogs and cats. I cannot recommend Gina and this practice highly enough!

When picking up our pet we were asked to assist with getting him into the carrier. We got a glimpse of the back kennel. I was shocked at how filthy the place was. The kitty condo was beyond dirty, the walls were stained and it smelled like it hadn’t been washed or cleaned in months. Initially when we dropped our pet off, we brought a blanket to try and make his stay as comfy as possible. His blanket was thrown on a shelf and a dirty pillow case was provided for him to sleep on instead. I received a phone call later that day from the manager. She was full of excuses and not truthful. She should have just addressed my concerns and apologized - you gotta OWEN IT! Very upsetting for our family and our pet.

Really can’t know what happens behind the scenes when you drop off your dog. But I lived right next to this place and heard frequent YELLING from the backyard. Like yelling at the top of your lungs. Also, I paid for a fecal exam over my dogs stay there and they actually never performed it. I asked for it again and dropped off a sample and they said they’d let me know results. Heard nothing. When I reached out again I asked for paperwork for this, and they sent me an HTML file. What am I supposed to do with an unreadable HTML file? Just incompetent and I don’t trust the quality of care from these experiences.

I left my dog there for nearly a month and from the time I dropped her off as hard as it was to leave her there I knew she would be taken care of! This place really cares about your pet, they emailed me about anything that came about and I felt very comfortable that she was in good hands! When I got back and brought her home it was as if she was at home the whole time, she was happy, excited and of course healthy! A great place to bring your pet for boarding and day care! They even washed her blankets and gave her a bath the day I picked her up, very impressive.

My little mutt just went for her first weekend boarding experience and had a total blast! Loved getting her "report card" and hearing about her adventures and new friendships in daycare. Totally accommodating with flexible drop off and pick up time options without racking up extra charges and a wide range of custom packages to suit your pups needs each visit. Well worth the few more miles to know she is so well cared for and adored by the staff there.

I would give more than 5 stars if it were possible! My dogs have boarded and been in daycare at Roaring Brook for many years and I have been nothing but pleased with the care they received. The head groomer is fantastic!! She has meticulously groomed my dogs (collies, not the easiest breed to groom) for two decades. They have all been happy to go for their "spa" days every month, love her, look fantastic when they come home.

I'm not sure how they got such a good rating. We were fooled by the name and assumed, incorrectly, that they were associated with the vet's office (because the vets are AMAZING. They are not.Both my mother and I brought our dogs for the same week in August of 2021 and both came back with raw, open sores on their noses (no explanation given), my mother's dog never got his comfort toy. Mine was fed half of the amount I had advised and came back to find him emaciated. We both opted for our dogs to be given a round (2 doses) of the canine flu shot and both only got one. They couldn't even FIND my dog for 15 minutes when we went to pick him up.Never again. Proceed at your own risk.

My dog has boarded there 3 times , Each time he goes, he wags his tail and cant wait to go into the kennel. They have groomed him several times (130 lb malamute ) and I am very happy with the results. The staff is friendly,knowledgeable and love animals. I also had my dog do a few training sessions while he was boarded, and he greatly improved with jumping and pulling on his leash. The veterinarian on site will also take care of your pet if there is an emergency or if they need medication.

Roaring Brook Veterinary Hospital was recommended to our family over 20 years ago and we have been fortunate enough to have depended on the fantastic staff ever since to care for our cats, dogs and even a hamster! EVERY member of the staff has been most professional and considerate. My furry family members have had what I consider the best veterinary care possible! I have recommended Roaring Brook to family members and friends, and will continue to do so.

We bring our 16 year old Maltese to Roaring Brook several times a year for stays of up to 2 weeks. She's always healthy and happy when we pick her up. We normally pay for the extended playtime package so that she gets plenty of lap time. They are affiliated with the veteranary hospital which is helpful in coordinating vaccinations and continuing with her care or treatments when necessary while we are on vacation.

Roaring Brook Kennels and Veterinary Hospital is an amazing facility with a staff that truly cares for your animals during their stay. Whether my dog Bruce is there for half or full day of Doggy Day Care I know he is in good hands and comes back exhausted and fulfilled. They even give him a bath which is amazing! During the times when Bruce is not able to come On vacation with us... I send Bruce on vacation to Roaring Brook Kennels. Here he spends his days playing with the staff and the other dogs boarding as well. I have personally seen a huge improvement in Bruce’s behavior during his time spent at the kennels... because they make sure he is happy and gets his engery out. The staff is extremely attentive to him and all the dogs under their care. I have witnessed on more than one occasion the staff snuggling and assuring a new comer who is nervous that it’s okay and they will have fun as well. I can personally say that having a place like Roaring Brook Kennels to care for my dog puts a lot of my worries behind me. Thank you to all the staff at the kennels, Gina the groomer and the doctors upstairs for taking such great care of my boy Bruce!! Xoxox

I have used Roaring Brook Kennels since day one with our Goldendoodle, Gracie. They have been WONDERFUL to Gracie (and us) for twelve years! Gina is a fantastic groomer, not to mention always very kind and accommodating. Line the rest of the RBK staff, she is truly dedicated to the service and welfare of animals. The kennel staff are unfailingly nice and helpful and flexible. They will do whatever it takes to help us with whatever we need. I am grateful to them all for great service indeed!!

We have been customers of RBK for a number of years, they have always been fantastic to work with. The staff is friendly and caring. They make all their “clients” feel right at home and get to know them individually! Our new dog Teddy made himself right at home at daycare!!! I'm so happy we started coming here. Our dog Mazie absolutely loves it here. She pulls me and my husband in every time. She is a rescue and is still working on trust with other humans and at first she was shy here but now she can't get enough! Knowing she can play ALL day long and get the exercise she truly needs gives us peace of mind when we can't give that to her during the week. It's been a total game changer for us and our dog. Everyone here is always so friendly and helpful. Mazie loves being apart of the RBK family!

I have been on the phone for over 1/2 hour on hold. I thought they forgot about me so I hung up and tried again. The same girl came on and told me to hold. I told her I already have been on hold for over 1/2 hour I only want to ask a quick question. She cut me off and told me that she could listen right now because she was busy. So I am going to assume that she was the only one there??? What is the purpose of a phone if you do not answer and keep clients waiting for over 1/2 hour. The hospital staff is very courteous not the kennel. Totally rude and uncaring.

I’ve been taking my 2 dogs here for years and I can’t say enough good things. One of my dogs has some health issues that they make special considerations for. My other dog is a puppy with a ton of energy and she goes to the doggie group play when she stays over. They give her a bath before she leaves and she comes home clean and tired, which is exactly what I need after a day of travel. PERFECT! Highly recommend!

It blows my mind that they have recieved the ratings they have. My american fox hound is energetic playful friendly all the time. She has been to daycare/boarding in Florida where i could access webcams at any time of the day and watch her play. We have dogs in the neighborhood she plays with daily and we enjoy going to new dog parks on th weekends. When i picked Layla up on her first and Only day they said if i were to bring her back i would need to pay extra to have a trainer with her due to her fear of the other dogs and that she barred her teeth at another dog. Not only is that untrue she has also developed kennel cough. Upon picking her up the temperatures were in the 90s the door was locked so i had to walk across the parking lot to the main office instead of letting me walk through the facility with her she made me walk back across the parking lot and i had to stand in the sun and wait at the locked door for her to bring my dog out. GUESS THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE. Horrible place.

I am never nervous to drop my fur baby off at Roaring brook!! As soon as I walk in Bugsys tail doesn’t stop wagging! All of the employees are SO nice and will answer any questions you have with no hesitation!! As sad as I am to drop him off, to see him so happy really is all worth it!! LOVE this place!

I just picked up our small dog, Charlie, here yesterday. We have been using RBK for three years now and could not be more grateful for this place.We recently moved from the Canton area to Branford CT (about an hour away south). When we booked our vacation in Block Island, I lightly looked for other closer boarding facilities but just couldnt do it. I drove an hour north to Canton and then two hours and change to Rhode Island (both ways) to get Charlie here.Every time I pick up Charlie from RBK, he is happy and smiling. RBK adheres to our ridiculous food regime for Charlie (Chicken, soft dog food, and a little hard dog food).Charlie is my first dog outside of always having a family dog and I treat him like my baby. I know that when I leave him at RBK that he is safe, clean, well taken care of, and loved by a genuine staff. I even bother RBK with Emails through out my trip for updates and they respond as soon as they get a second! I mean come on, How awesome.Highly recommend.Dave, Kelli, Saylor, and Charlie

I worked there for over a year so i can tell you that most of the time working there i was unable to provide services that customers were paying for. I would add up the dogs in my section and add up all of their activites ( walks + playtimes ) and it would equal more time then my 7-6 shift. If i were to only do those activites and nothing else all day and not take my lunch break i still would not have enough time to do all of the activities, yet every customer was charged for every activity anyways. Most of my time was spent doing kennel baths and other kennel work such as cleaning and feeding of boarding animals ect. I brought this up to my manager i showed him the math and proved it was impossible to do all activites plus kennel work and the next day they sent out a email to the employees saying all activites must be done or it will effect your pay raise. Also we were told to not inform customers if their dog only sat around and didn't play during daycare because a customer decided not to bring their dog back anymore because one of the staff had told them the truth. We were told to either lie and say that their dog had a great day in daycare or to get a manager.Very often i saw dogs behind the daycare reception left unattended for long periods of time. If you plan on paying for activites or daycare i recommend you go elsewhere or you may very likely be paying for something your pet isnt actually receiving. On the flip side they do excellent work fostering and adopting out dogs who need homes and the staff are a nice group of hard working people who do the best they can. I worked there over a year ago today and it is possible they addressed the issues i mentioned by now.

My dogs came back with a sickness and were not treated well. My bichon fur came back yellow from sitting in her urine and they finally called saying they need a bath. I do not recommend this kennel to people.
