My only issue with this store was the grooming. I have a Toy Yorkie. I took him to be groomed and when I picked him up I was told that they weren't able to sanitize his area because he wouldn't let them do it, that he didn't like it. My dog is four pounds, what do you mean that he wouldn't let you. He didn't smell like he was freshly groomed. I was charged full price. I will never ever use this branch for grooming again. The ladies in the immunization area were wonderful, caring people.

An associate was working nearby as I was looking in the cat harness section. I needed a dog harness! She pointed me in the right direction :)Then, after I made the selection, the cashier was able to instruct me how to use it :) I really appreciated the help from both of them :)

The team at this Petco is so helpful! We came in about 20 minutes before close to quickly grab stuff for our new puppy and they acted as if they had just opened & were so willing to help us find the right size crate and bed. The store also was spotless and well stocked.

I had my dog’s first grooming experience here. First of all the lady who took my dog was not pleasant. Then when i took my dog back, she was shaking and was clinging to me tightly as soon as i hugged her. The cut was not proportioned and even also. At home when i brushed my dog’s hair, she looked scared and was running away from it, something that she did not mind before until she had that grooming experience with petco. My dog definitely was traumatized. I spoke about it to my colleagues and they all had the same experience, hence they never brought their dogs back there. When i brought my dog back just to buy some treats, she was scared upon entering, she wont even walk. I dont know what they did to my dog while i was away, and i guess i dont want to know because it hurts just to think about it. Just want to warn everybody. I hope you will improve your service and be kinder to the dogs. You should only employ patient and real dog-lovers.

It was just ok, the store did not have 28lbs and 14 lbs Taste Of The Wild dog food on hand only 5lb bags which cost a lot more and so I had to purchase 2 5lb bags at a higher price even though those were “On Sale”.

3 stars because I like Petco but the Main Street location is horrible. Waited in line to checkout and there was no cashier and when I asked the reps at grooming they didn’t give a shxt!

My dog had an appt for today at 8 am and when I went, I was told by Jessica that and I quote “I don’t have anyone scheduled for 8 o’clock today” I responded with “I have the text message with confirmation” She then said I must have scheduled it at another location which is inaccurate since that’s the only location I’ve taken my dog in the past. She then insisted that I must have rescheduled the appt, I think I would’ve known that, since I was there today. Again, her response was, well I don’t know what to tell you, I don’t have anyone scheduled for 8 o’clock. Ok… so why can’t you take my dog, who was originally scheduled for that time. If you don’t wanna work, just say that. You hate your job, just say that! Give it to someone else who loves it. Must suck to be miserable!! Needless to say, I’m not bringing my dog back there again.

I get it in and out for dry food. The Wellness aisle gets moved often, which is confusing. The dry food costs less here than at my preferred pet store, where the canned food cost less.

Subject: Formal Complaint and Request for CompensationDear Petco Customer Service,I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and dissatisfaction with the recent experiences I have encountered at the Petco located on 4559 Main St. Bridgeport, CT.On February 12th, 2024, I purchased a hamster from your store and, unfortunately, encountered an unforeseen issue. The hamster chewed through the cardboard box provided by Petco while in my car, leading to significant damage to a cable cord underneath the passenger side chair. Subsequent research revealed that cardboard boxes are not suitable for transporting hamsters due to their propensity to chew through them.To add to my distress, my car subsequently malfunctioned, necessitating an $800.00 repair on February 14th, directly attributed to the damage caused by the hamster. I believe there should be a clear warning or alternative transport options provided at the point of purchase to avoid such incidents.Despite this unfortunate incident, I returned to Petco on February 15th and exchanged the hamster for a yellow bird. I expressed my intention to return for two more birds on February 22nd. However, the experience on my latest visit was utterly disheartening.On February 22nd, I was met with unprofessional behavior from Isabella Richardson, one of the managers at the store. In front of other customers, Ms. Richardson yelled and screamed at me, asserting that my house is not safe for pets and insinuating that I required special training. This treatment was not only disrespectful but entirely unwarranted.To make matters worse, Ms. Richardson physically pushed me and forcibly grabbed the box containing the birds. Such behavior is unacceptable and left me feeling humiliated and degraded as a customer.I am formally requesting full compensation for the damage caused to my car as a direct result of the inadequate packaging provided by Petco. Additionally, I urge you to address the unprofessional conduct exhibited by Ms. Richardson during my recent visit. Such behavior tarnishes the reputation of your establishment and discourages loyal customers.I trust that Petco takes customer satisfaction seriously and will promptly address these concerns. I needed flea treatment for my cat. Ryan, in Bridgeport, and the next day in Stratford store helped me to find it. He is patient, professional, and very knowledgeable. Without him, I couldn't find the right products. Thank you, Petco for hiring such high-quality people.

Can't give higher than 3 stars because a lot of their prices are insane. The store was nice and clean, just overly expensive. The same exact brand and item you can get on Amazon for $10, they are charging $55 for it. The only things we found that are worth buying, were some dog chew toys, everything else is overpriced...sticking to ordering fron Amazon... one thing we saw was a fleece dog hoodie in a size 14" for $65, Amazon has it for $15... i think they order everything off amazon, and charge 4 times what they pay... lol

What i saw today was sad two employees fight yelling ans screaming in front of customers . The manager was doing nothing one customer came to them said take it to the back thank god there is a fairfield petco someone needs to check there staff we will never go there again

Had a appointment for my dogs showed up little late and was denied the appointment they said there were not going to see my dogs cause was a little late while they were just sitting there not doing nothing took a walk in before someone with a appointment hold will never go back

They have everything you could need for your dog. Options for cats and other pets are decent but there could be more. The biggest issue is that the cashiers are usually nowhere to be found and you could spend 5-10 minutes in line before a cashier comes to the register.

If you plan on getting your pet groomed please don’t! I tried to overlook all the negative reviews and still gave them a chance and they were so rude! I spoke to Gizel in the grooming department and absolutely terrible experience. I’m never one to complain in retail but i’ve never been spoken to so disrespectfully. Currently waiting to hear back from corporate.

2 Times I was there and was a huge headache. (Petco Bridgeport Main Street) The girl in the grooming department is so rude. she can't talk to customers and she treated me bad. Plus the first time she took care of my dog after that he was bald.

I had an appointment @ 9am with this company and I had to call to get inside to be seen. When I arrived Jessika (dog stylist) made my experience extremely poor. Her attitude was loud and unpleasant. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable even my dog was uncomfortable. She did not want to help me as well as allowing a customer to go before me and I had an appointment. She also did not give me updates on my dog who we love and care for. Gina (manager) was helpful made the experience better.

The cashier lied there was no weight scale in store to use. But they have a groomer in the same spot. I Spoke with another sales associate she was able to get scale and weigh my dog before I paid for dog carrier bags. Just please know your job before you say No?

My husband and I brought our dog for grooming and we were asked for the updated rabies certificate. We showed her multiple times the certificate which presented the expiration date of 2024 and she continued to tell us this was incorrect! The grooming person, Jessica, is so rude and not good with customers! Gives so much attitude. She proceeded to tell us “I’ll do his grooming today but you need to find a new groomer for next time”. She really thought we were going to leave my dog there after that? Ridiculous! If you don’t like your job, find a better one! Do better petco!!!!

This Petco is located in the same strip with Stop and Shop. I waiting for Chinese food to be ready and I walked in but no one was on the floor. There wasn't anyone behind the register. I started walking around yelling out is anyone in here. I only wanted to pick up a toy for my dog. Some Young lady came out of an office and was kind of annoyed that I was there and I wasn't giving up on paying for something. I could have simply walked out of there without paying and not said a thing. If you do go to that store make sure you look for someone before entering.
