Unfortunately I had to put my best friend of nearly 19 years down. Our cat was a patient at a clinic in town where the vet cracks jokes and acts immature when we just wanted appropriate end of life care.We were panicked and desperate because our cat was suffering and not eating. We called Branford Veterinary Hospital and they graciously made an appointment for us (the same day).The last pet I put down was in 2017 and I was terrified to experience the process again. Branford Veterinary Hospital was the BEST treatment I've ever had for any pet's end of life care.. They had a couch to make her comfortable to feel like she was just at home. They had soothing music instead of fluorescent lights and emptiness. As devastating as it is to lose my best friend -- I didn't think I'd be brave, but they provided everything in order to make this process as easy as possible. It is never easy, but I can't express how grateful I am towards the staff. I'm glad we found you and I will recommend this place to anyone I encounter in town. You truly made a difficult process beautiful, calming, and you made the time and showed respect and care unlike the other horrible place. Thank you so much. We are glad we found you.

Very friendly and welcoming. Everyone is pleasant and they take such great care of our two dogs. Dr. Reynolds goes above and beyond. She treats our dogs as if they were her own. The cost is much less than past Vet hospitals we went to.

From reception to physician, all the staff are friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. Their rates are comparable to other veterinary practices (they're all expensive!) but as a senior on a fixed income they worked with me to spread Buddy's needed vaccines and tests over two monthly visits and I so appreciated the kind understanding.

Would discuss the needs of the animal patient and would schedule the services, prepay for the appointment but then at the end of the appt would have to pay more money because more services that weren’t discussed at the time of scheduling have gotten done. Just seems a little money hungry and lack of compassion when questioning why this is happening.

Absolutely amazing! Arlo loves his doctors and all of his assistants! Arlo is a very active, 100 lb, 12 month old, German Rottweiler puppy! He is always happy to walk into the vet and he has had a decent amount of incidents in the past 6 months— some that scared us a lot! They have always taken him in immediately and provided the best care to make sure Arlo was comfortable and well taken care of! I feel very confident that Branford Veterinary has hired some of the best people out there! If I was away and knew they had to take care of him during an emergency— I would be at ease knowing Arlo was comfortable and getting the best care possible! Thank you so much for all that you do! I have been a customer of BVH for a few years not and they have always been very caring and attentive to my dog's need. Just recently, my dog had got into some toxic food and had to be taken to the emergency hospital. After she was cleared to go home BVH follow-up to see how my dog was doing. We are from Virginia just move to CT, our dog been vomiting and not feeling well, I call Branford Veterinary Hospital they re able to see my dog on the same day no extra fee as for ER, the staff and doctor are very nice, I am very happy with their service , I would recommend Branford Veterinary Hospital to any one has fur baby. we are already book another appt for my dog.

Last few months dealing with receptionists only at the office, I have noticed my vet records are wildly incorrect for phone messages I left about a pet no longer in my care (set up by this office staff to go to the Meriden Humane Society) Did they get the wrong person? Talked to office staff and there seems to be no interest in correcting these errors. I remember specifically asking for gabapentin for the dog on voicemail but there is no mention of this in their notes. Why is there no mention my questions regarding the voicemails I left about the Meriden Humane Society and their misunderstanding ? Instead these notes claim I called to resolve a dispute with a “neighbor”? There were never any problems with notes when the vets were involved, I’m actually surprised because my previous experiences here were rated 5 star. Apparently no one checks on these receptionists when left to their own devices, unless they are OK with this behavior.The State Health Dept. will not go in because there were no licensed veterinarians involved in setting up the dog to go to the MHS, and that all they investigate.
