Stopped in to pick up some 14/3 romex after comparing prices online, price is totally different in the store compared to there website. Asked the front counter why there was such a price difference, the young man was not sure and asked one of the older men in the back to come up. The guy wouldn't even look at me or even explain why the difference in price. Will not be back! Not sure how your going to keep repeat business when you treat your customers like that.

Absolute worst experience ever today here complete idiots to include the owner! Sold me expired stain that caused damage to my clients home and when I went to return the owner refused! I will take this to small claims and can't wait to do so! How are these people even in business with there huge greedy mark ups and complete lack of customer service and client retention!

One of my favorite places to find local and collectible style crafted items! This type of merchandise adds to an old style shopping experience. I found fair market prices for the items I needed. They also had the wood stove accoutrements I needed several years ago. Consistent cheerful checkout personnel.

I have shopped/rented equipment from here for the last time. I have put up with couple of rude men that do nothing but speak down at you like your a child for the convenience in the past but no more.Also, I rented a jack hammer and was shown how someone has set the machine on its handles and they have been rubbed down. I mistakenly signed and rented it anyway. I purposely set it upright against the wall on the bit to avoid causing any more damage to the handles. I was charged anyway for the handles being rubbed down from being set on them. There are two other places to shop in Woodland Park that you can get the same things Woodland Hardware sells. I’m sure the loss of one person no longer shopping will not make a difference.

Worst store I could ever imagine. Been living in the area 5 years and never once have I found what I am looking for at a fair price.I was just refused service over a tool rental because i said the wrong thing. I need an engine hoist to lift a large stone. Don't tell them that.Won't waste another moment of my time with this place.

Good location with easy access. They have good staff who know what they stock, but not the nicest customer service. Fairly strict on parking in the past, and not the place for large drill bits.

Our go-to place for all that we need for the house (except lumber). We want to support local business and so this is always our first stop! The employees have overall been there for a long time, they are friendly, and quick to help. The owner and his parents are very very nice people that want your experience to be great. And, you can bring your pup into the store!Update January 2023:Still a great store, and the employees are always friendly and so helpful. They even offer to help carry stuff out to the car for you! THE best!Update May 2023:Went in to get mole killer because they have imbedded in our yard. While they did not have the products we were specifically looking for, they looked up what they could get, and were very helpful! Always a great hometown local store!Update July 2023:Continue to excel in customer service, has so many products and prices are fair!Update April 2024:Anthony was super helpful. Every time we come in here, at least monthly, we never have an issue finding an employee to help, we always find what we are looking for, and the prices are fair. Love supporting local business!

Rental Department. Dropped off chain saw blades to sharpen. ( Bald guy with some white hair) He told me 1 week. I asked if anyone would call when done, he said no. Came in 7 days later to pick up. Not done. Same guy said he had no idea when they would be done. I asked why? Only 1 person can run machine. I said train more people. I took Un sharpened chains with me. Horrible customer service!!

They had exactly what I needed, which seems almost impossible. I bought an older used Challenger circuit breaker online and when I received it, the little screws that are used to tighten down the wire in the breaker were missing (see attached photo). I spent about 5 minutes looking around at the 1000s of little screws and bolts and things to see if I could find anything that might work and then I saw they had the EXACT part that I needed. 75 cents. Are you kidding me? I would have paid $5. I love their nut and bolt section. Best I have ever experienced. Saved me tons of time and trouble hunting it down online.

I came in after a heavy snow to buy a chainsaw and the salesman wouldn't sell me one because 'we don't set them up on sunday' I offered to do the setup myself and was still refused service. What a joke. Going to Ace in town a half hour away.Reply: I went to Tractor Supply and bought a saw from them and got the job done before the storm fall became dangerous. I'm not shopping here again.

Tried to return an item after purchasing less then two weeks prior. Explained I did not have a paper receipt but could show online transaction. Was told by cashier the return desk has the ability to look up transactions but may be unwilling to. Sent to the return desk where I was told “this is why customers are encouraged to keep receipts”. Tried to explain this was an unusually situation and why I did not have a receipt. I felt as though the whole exchange was very cold and impolite.We will not be shopping here anymore.

I love Woodland Hardware. They are family owned. Have a great selection of whatever you may need from hardware, paint, garden tools, grass seed, home decor, housewares and so much more! Staff and owners are always helpful and knowledgeable! The only time there was a slight issue with staff was when they were short staffed during covid...but who wasn't. Great hometown hardware😊

Bought a can of krylon spray paint that clogged up with half the paint left.They could have easily found my sales information with my credit card but instead the manager threw the can away and was very rude about it. The manager was so abrasive that I decided it’s not worth going back for such a small sale. Easier to go somewhere where they are polite

I, a 60 yr oldretiree and Marine Corps Vet, was in this store Yesterday and was accused of theft. Associate stated” cheating on a mans’ wife is one thing but right in front of him is another” metaphorically calling me out for putting two little bags of connectors in my pocket right infront of him, which I still had in my hand. In a separate incident, My girlfriend was singled out and had her backpack confiscated while others walked freely around the store with theirs, the same day. Our basic Civil Rights are not observed by employees, managers’ or owner. They act as if they are above the law, egotisticalLy unaccountable. Steer clear of here, make the extra trip to the Springs.

The ladies up front running the registers are great, but the group of older guys that run the rental counter and process returns are HORRIBLE. The way they treat me and interact with me when I've gone in, multiple times, is at best condescending and at worst, downright rude. The store itself is very nice, and their selection is remarkably good for a mountain town hardware store, but the fact that on a good day I leave the store feeling like I've bothered the guys that work there, and on bad days I've left feeling a lot worse really stinks. I hope they can turn that around. I hate leaving bad reviews. I know running a business is incredibly difficult right now, and that hiring is almost impossible, so I definitely try and give local businesses some room and understanding on stuff like this. With that said, my repeated bad experiences with customer treatment and customer service is a correctable problem that shouldn't continually happen as it has.

The older people working the Rental Counter could care less about customer service. They've been there quite a while and obviously think they're doing you a favor by paying attention to you and return policy is horrible when you try to return something. I did have a chain saw sharpened approximately a month ago and the gentlemen was very nice and helpful. The others however are terrible.

This used to be my go-to hardware store, ever since we moved here at the beginning of the year. However their customer service has gone downhill extremely fast since then. I went in fairly early in the day, couldn't find what I was looking for, also could not find any employees who were willing to help, and ended up going up the road to tractor supply where I found exactly what I needed and an employee to help me get it within 5 minutes. I spent over 40 minutes trying to find what I needed in woodland Park hardware and got no help. I understand that finding good employees is difficult right now but that was the third time I've been in there and gotten no help so I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

I just needed a small, inexpensive item and like a lot of people these days, I don't carry cash. When I was told that my purchase was below the minimum amount for using my debit card, I hadn't even considered the situation! The very kind individual behind me at check out told the cashier to just put my purchase on his bill! I was actually stunned by this generous offer! My husband and I went in to shop for something specific when I approached the desk in the back near hardware this man could barely look up from his computer to answer my question he was extremely dismissive and rude! When I went up to the front to report his behavior and asked the cashier if she was a manager she quipped back at me that "she was only a cashier and what did I expect her to do?" Overall horrible experience and lack of customer service as a local to WP I will NEVER shop here again! It's no wonder Tractor supply is the better establishment!!!

Manager was great! She was able to help me with a return. If it was not for her, I would be giving a 1 star. I was originally told to go to the rental desk and they would help me there. I was told by one gentleman that I could get a store credit. Then someone else at the desk had an attitude and was very rude and told me there is nothing he can do for me(rudely). Customer service did not exist at the rental desk. I feel like the manger was the only one with good customer service that I have spoke with there.

I have visited this store several times and am always amazed at the cool things stocked there, from Darn Tough socks (which I thought were only sold at REI,) to cast iron skillets, wonderful clothing, etc. my most recent visit was to purchase a Stihl yard care product. Cole, who helped me on the phone, also helped me register the unit right there in the store. The item I was buying was the last one they had, but he generously held it for me while I made the hour long drive to the store. I encourage everyone to visit this well laid out store. The service is great and there are so many things to discover there. Way better than your typical big box store. Congratulations to the management for hiring good people and stocking unique and high quality items.

I liked this place until we recently spent $160 on a metal utility cart which is horribly designed. The wheel base is too small and so if the cart is loaded (supposedly a 1000 lb weight capacity) and heaven forbid you live on land that's not completely flat, the cart tips over dumping everything you loaded, out onto the ground. Just a few days after our purchase, we went back by the store and saw a better cart for what we need. We inquired about exchanging the first cart and I was willing to pay any difference. Well they didn't allow for an exchange and basically treated us like nobody's. The overall attitude of not caring and lack of wanting to help us was so off putting. Unfortunately we won't be back and do inquire about their exchange and return policy before making your purchases. I don't know of any store other than this one that won't allow you to even make an exchange nowadays! Tractor Supply and Foxworth are right down the road and will probably treat you better as a customer anyway! We're building our own home and I'd rather spend my money where it's appreciated.

This used to be my go to hardware store. In the last year or two this place has really gone downhill and now I do my best not to shop here. Last year I purchased several new propane tanks here because I have had nothing but problems with propane tank exchanges...leaking tanks, you won't fill them, the tanks are too old, I have had several problems and have been told several times you won't full an exchange tank for one reason or another. So this year I have several new propane tanks. I go to get them filled and you won't fill one new tank because it had a spot of rust on it. I asked at your store what to do and was told to take my new propane tank and exchange it. The whole reason i bought propane tanks from your store is because I was tired of dealing with problems from tank exchanges. So now a year later I have totally wasted my money by buying propane tanks from your store. The staff is as unhelpful as can be. No one can tell me where to get my tank re certified, only that they won't fill it because it has a small amount of rust on the tank and that I should trade my new $50 tank in for a problematic used tank. Words cannot express my displeasure with your store. Customer service is terrible. There are several other problems I would love to discuss with the owner.

Horrible rental experience. Tried to rent a wood chipper for a day. Picked out up after waiting over an hour, losing 45 mins on my next day return time. No big deal. Took it home, not a short trip. Got up next day to actually run it. Started it and warning light came on. Called the store. They told me to bring it back in. Again, not a short trip. Looked it over, light came on he got it to turn off. It popped back on and off. Maybe a short. Wanted to know if I wanted to take it back home. I don't trust this light coming off and on. If I run it and the engine messes up who gets billed for that. I told the counter for to forget it and refund me. Boss refuses refund saying nothing is wrong with it. Forget this group. Punish me for not wanting to risk damaging their equipment and losing another hour of my rent time which was limited to begin with. Not one hour was put on their machine.UPDATE:. Got a call from Suzanne. There was a problem with the machine after all. Mechanic tracked it down and while it wasn't major, it was causing the warning light to come on. I was thanked for not running the machine anyway. Full refund offered.
