We went a few times to get crickets for our anole and eventually bought a 2 month banana ball python from them! Tony was extremely helpful and kind. He helped us for a long time talking through everything and his recommendations for the care of our snake.

I may not always agree with the prices but this place is hands down the best reptile shop in Colorado when it comes to exotic rare animals. They always make sure they have some of the rarest animals in town. They also have the best selection of isopods at great pricing. Highly recommend a visit to this shop is your in town!

My wife and I have been shopping and visiting 5280 Reptile Room for over 5 years now. Michael, Kiri, their family, Travis, and all of their staff are absolutely incredible. They are super knowledgeable and helpful with all of our husbandry and feeding questions as well as general information. They are the best reptile store and we continue to visit them even after moving out of the neighborhood. Will always support 5280 and everyone else should too :)

I cannot say enough good things about this place and their people. I’ve gotten all of my animals from this store exclusively, and each time all of my questions and concerns were met with wonderful information from their staff. Tony and Travis have become regular faces when I come in, and it’s a pleasure each and every time.

We went in there to look and see if we wanted an reptile and the staff made us so uncomfortable. It was two young adult looking men. When we walked in the store they were goofing around and being unprofessional. There were no other customers in there so I let it slide. Then one of the staff came up and talked to us for two minutes straight about sales and introducing himself. Not even two minutes later the same guy came up to us and started talking again. As we went to the back of the store we saw bigger lizards and snakes, which barely had any room to fit their bodies. There was only about five inches of length that wasn’t being covered by the lizards body. Both of the lizards were just sitting there doing nothing, probably because there wasn’t any room to move. The smaller lizards had much more room which seems unfair to the larger ones. Then one of the staff members started talking to us again and it got to the point where we were so uncomfortable that we left much earlier then we planned to. I feel like it’s completely unprofessional to keep talking to the customers unless you’re greeting them or if they ask you a question. We didn’t start any of the about five unwanted conversations that we had with the staff in the ten minutes we were in the store. This store is walking distance from my house and the next closest one is at least a 15 minute drive away so it’s disappointing that we felt so uncomfortable in there and will have to drive out far if we decide on a reptile. I do not plan on entering this store again any time soon

Edit: The day after writing this review I unexpectedly took in a ball python that had escaped from a friend of a friend and had been living outside for over 2 months. The previous owner already sold the enclosure and didn't want him anymore. The employees here were more than happy to give him a quick check up and assure me his only problem was stuck shed. They educated me on some of the signs of respiratory infection, and recommended a product to help him shed easier. I was incorrectly told by the former owner that it was a spider morph, and they even pulled out an actual spider BP from the store to show me the difference. I love this store and they're gonna be seeing me at least every 2 weeks now when I buy feeders. If I could give an even higher rating now I would.I went here for the first time today and had a very good experience. They have a large selection of all kinds of awesome species. The animals I saw looked really healthy. This is the only store I've found within an hour of me that has mourning geckos, which I've wanted for almost a year now. Great selection of frogs too, multiple dart frog species. Tons of tarantulas and scorpions. Blue tongue skinks, various bearded dragons, iguanas, boas, pythons, geckos, tortoises, and a really cool aquatic turtle I'd never heard of. Axolotls too! First time I saw them in person.Prices were very fair, some of them were the cheapest I've seen available locally outside of expos. Cheaper than online sources for most species too when you factor in shipping.Staff were friendly and helpful despite me coming in an hour before closing. They asked me questions about what species I kept and what I was looking for, unlike the reptile store I usually visit. I was given personal recommendations on food, and warned to make sure any small gaps in my vivarium were sealed before adding my new mourning gecko to it. Pic related, she's so small and adorable!They have a very diverse and healthy looking selection of feeders. The crickets I bought were so active they sounded like running water in the bag 🤣 not a single one seemed sick or dead. The crickets are also your regular house crickets instead of the super annoying banded crickets.I even had fellow customers start friendly conversation with me, and warn me about how quick the mourning geckos I just bought were. All in all the place seemed incredibly well managed and very friendly. It's about 10 minutes farther than the reptile shop I used to visit, but I think I'm gonna be going here from now on.

Tony is always so welcoming and friendly. He remembers my mouse and cricket order every week and is a joy to talk with about the hobby and deserves a hefty raise and all the free sandwiches he wants.

Besides the slightly odd experience of the employee blasting Anna and Elsa songs, given- he DID love singing it- seemed like a good store. Not very interactive even when at the cash register checking out, but they did carry what I needed. I’ll be back for feeders.

Wonderful fantastic store....lots of kids inside not sure if there is any type of real supervision. The young person at the front counter refused to call the owner when I had an issue. Said no!! Really rude and with an attitude. Kicked me out and called the cops real quick for asking a question.

Beware that their employees are not educated in what would work well in different enclosures. I bought a $40 piece of wood for climbing that molded like crazy and they will not take back because it is “used”. This is for a medium humidity habitat that I have never had mold issues in. They best they could do was to say “sorry”. Buyer be ware.

We're getting ready to love a couple Common rainfrogs/Desert rainfrogs. Been doing lots of research!!...I went in today to get the right supplies & I'm SO grateful to the guy who helped me! Trevor? He answered ALL my questions, at least 100. He was very helpful & got me everything we should need to create the perfect environment for our soon to be potatoes.

I went there to get frozen rats so I was told if I bought a full package of 10 I would get 10 % off so I got 10 fuzzy rats and 10 rat pups. I went there because I seen there prices was good. Well according to the sign it should have been 43.00 but got charged 80 for 20 rats. Will never go back. And from what I hear from other reviews they won't make it right. I'm disabled with no income and I get ripped off . I could have gotten 25 fuzzy and 25 pups for 10.00 more elsewhere.

This place is a little treasure for those that are into reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, or insects. They have a great variety of animals and feeders, supplements, etc. Tony is the guy that usually helps out and he's great at the job!

Best place by far!If you need a new pet these guys are knowledgeable and sell everything at an affordable price to complete your entire specific setup. I am repeatedly happy when I go there. I went other places to look at what they had and I was still not as impressed as this place. Highly recommend!!!

My Daughter bought a $250.00 African Millapede and it died in 7 days! The employee was a young blonde lady never told us the proper way to care for this other then we need dirt and it eats fruit and veggies. This is the worst reptile store in denver!! Don't do business with them, the employees are not properly trained to sell any reptile. I called to tell them my daughter's Millapede died and the said its our job to do research, so sorry it died. Wft‼️🤯
