2024 UPDATE: After a longer period of showing their consistency in quality and care, I have changed Bootleggers to a 5-star. I really appreciated their thoughtful response to my previous review and DO believe they meant it when they said they’d take my feedback to heart. Especially with other restaurants dropping like flies, Bootleggers becomes more and more important. We need well-run places in this valley that actually TRY.Original Review:Bootleggers is one of the only places in town that has food you can describe as “fresh and light”. Their sandwiches are pretty creative and a standout amongst the local eateries. However, my main complaint (if I needed to offer constructive criticism) is probably portion size. I’m not usually one to criticize portions, but with the sandwiches being on the lighter light, the sides could be more generous or the sandwiches a bit bigger. Good beer/cocktail selection from what I can tell. Looks like the patio is a great time during the warmer months!

WAY DRY AND SO SPICY! We ordered a couple of the Bootleggers Italian beef with au jus for pick up. Not going to lie, when we got to the house and opened them up they looked AMAZING... 1 bite in and we are all sucking down water. The meat was so dry it was almost cooked to jerky. Thankfully the Au Jus brought it back enough to eat but unfortunately the meal was so spicy non of us even finished our sandwiches. A handful of locals left Seriously disappointed.

We are local, so we go here at least once a week. They have sandwiches and salads and occasional specials.Bootleggers has gluten free bread of you need that.The crew is super friendly!Vegetarian options: Lots of different salads to choose from and a nice selection of different greens.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bread available and no cheese choices if necessary.

Fridays prime rib is absolutely amazing. I wish we would have ordered two! It you want to make sure you get it, you can call ahead.Their Cubano and Ruben are also fantastic!Update:Came back a year later and it is literally the best prime rib I have ever had. Amazing food and so friendly.

They have prime rib steaks on Friday nights so Saturday’s menu is beef au jus sandwiches made with the leftover prime rib. It was amazing and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. What’s super impressive is that it’s next door to a little park with public restrooms and picnic tables. There’s even a nice parking area just across the street. I highly recommend the place

We all have our off days where things just don't align and that was this night, we started with a spinich Artichoke dip that had to be returned three times to get up to serving temperature. A favorite beer of mine is Leinenkugel’s® Summer Shandy which was promitably advertised however not served so I had a Guinness. The beer was served ice cold and in a glass ahhhh perfect in addition we order the pastrami sandwich which was excellent and a roast beef that went uneaten. The bar is a warm and friendly setting, food portions were fair, presentation needed work and execution in the kitchen should be rethought or worked as I was disappointed on this visit, maybe next time?

Staff here is very friendly. The sandwiches are great. They toast the bread so the sandwiches are not greasy. There is a good variety deli style of menu choices and prices are reasonable. Dog friendly too so that's my kind of place. I highly recommend Bootleggers Deli if you are visiting Westcliffe.

Stopped here by chance driving thru from Lake Isabel/Bishop's Castle area up to Buena Vista. Looking for a place to eat on the way. Asked some local looking people on the sidewalk down the street where to eat and they directed us to Bootleggers. Luckily sat on the patio outside. Server was nice but they were busy as it seemed like there were only 2 of them. Glad we got there when we did as people keep piling in. Food was great and fresh, it seemed. Ordered Turkey bacon melt. It was really spicy and delicious. I would recommend anyone passing thru stop here.

Bootleggers Deli is a new addition to Westcliffe with outdoor patio seating, music and a rustic yet modern theme inside. Friendly service with a good selection of drinks and menu items.

Nice little restaurant right on the main drag. Sat outside and enjoyed views of the Sangre de Christos and people watched. Lots of traffic, human and vehicle - made it a little noisy sometimes but nice to be outside. The waitress was great! Kept up on drinks and needs, friendly, but not annoying or too often. I enjoyed the Spicy Speakeasy roast beef sandwich and my wife had the Pepperberry ham sandwich (with strawberry jam??!) and she loved it.

Prime rib sandwich was gross. Everything we tried was either bland or made poorly. How do u screw up Spinach artichoke dip? That was our first clue this place was going to be gross. Mac Salad had a very bland off putting taste, potato salad was even worse. I don't get the hype. That food wasn't the least bit tasty. Hard Pass
