I’m only giving this 2 stars because The cashier that I had was really nice soft-spoken, the manager, however, was not the best. I bought four bags of rabbit feed because where it was placed that it said it was $13.04, there was a deal going for red tags 25% off for any price with a red tag that ends in 04, I thought to myself awesome. I’ll go ahead and get four bags. Once at the register, I realized that it was ringing up at $21 and some change. I told the cashier about where the bag was, and how much it cost, even stated that there was five bags stacked up in that spot. I then ran back to the spot and took a picture ran all the way back to register stood there and waited in line patiently while she took care of somebody else. She called the manager over and the manager looked at it, and said well, this is the wrong SKU number. I then said there was five bags stacked up there, he then stated when we must have ran out of the one that was on the deal. Then walked away. This was a very horrible experience. I went ahead and paid the full price anyway because I needed the feed and I didn’t want to have to put all those bags away or make the sweet young cashier do it. I then told the cashier well maybe somebody should’ve paid more attention before stacking that many bags at the wrong tag. Needless to say I was pretty teed off when I left. I will never come here again I’ll just go to the one in La Veta.

Super big store with pretty much everything you could need. Went in for some work boots and warm winter work gear, found everything I needed! Super friendly customer service by the lady upfront. Do not remember her name but everyone in their store was really nice!

Was buying my horse feed and dog food here every month and then started noticing they both had mold. Called the store manager was told since we had already used half of the bags they could not do anything. Kept trying hoping I would get some without mold even going as far to get ones that didn't expire with later dates. Still had mold🙄 took back a newer bag with mold was allowed a one time exchange for another bag still had mold. After having all these issues i finally went to a feed store towards Hoehne and had not any problems since. Would not recommend buying any type of food for my animals here ever again. Was also told by the manager I'am the only one with mold issues which i highly doubt. Thank goodness none of my pets got sick.

I've been going to the Trinidad, co big R for years... Never been so dissatisfied and disappointed, dealt with a manager by the name of Kimberly. She didn't listen or help me in anyway. In addition to my animal feed I seen an item on clearance with .06 as the ending. The big sign clearly stated %90 off .06,.05,.04. I also check the signs bottom right corner which stated expiration date of sale to be Dec 1st. I explained this to Kimberly, she stated that corporate sets the prices and there is nothing she can do about it cause corporate is slowly changing the prices over. She proceeded to walk outside with 2 other employees and chit chat by one of the males truck.This was at 6:30pm Nov. 2nd. Kimberly if that is her real name, had black hair, black shirt jeans walkie talkie and no name badge.I just will be shopping at tractor supply in Raton from now on this was a really big turn off for me as it was clearly posted and how she just blew me off and blamed corporate just so she can go hang out in the parking lot.

Do not use these guys to fill your propane tank. They filled mine, but I didn’t realize until I was up in the mountains that they had stripped the valve to turn it on. I went back to Trinidad and the store manager refused to do anything about it and he was very rude to me, I called the district manager and left two messages. He never returned my calls. Store manager in La Veta was very nice and wanted to help but didn’t have any tanks available to compensate me. I also tried Bernalillo. They did not help me as well.

Big R needs to stop raising their prices and contribute to the community... they are the only feed and farm supplies in town and the prices are sky high. Also do a better job checking customers out we have had to return several times because we were charged multiple times for items purchased. So check your receipt before leaving the store. Please look for alternative venders and try to bring these feed prices down. $16.99 for a 30 lb Bale of alfalfa stems is criminal. The farmers in this area deserve better than that.

Many good things to be said of this store, but Gavin in Sporting Goods is by far the star of our experience! He's very knowledgeable, professional, and kind when helping us with questions.

We went to Big R everytime we went to Trinidad. Some of the prices are a little steep, but the people that work there make up for it in being courteous. Go buy some weed from Trinidad Higher Calling and then hit up Big R! It is a pretty cool store!

The customer service at this store is typically amazing. Every employee is friendly and helpful, with the exception of one employee today. This employee, named Audrey, made it a point to follow us through the store, harassing us and stating that my husband made "derogatory remarks" towards her and then proceeded to tell me that I am rude as well when I asked her to leave us alone. We shop at this store several times a week and are always polite and friendly with the employees. I hate to leave any negative review for such a good store, but that woman needs to be fired, she was the most rude unprofessional retail employee I have ever encountered. I cannot believe she made it a point to walk all the way across the store, just to follow and further harass us. Some people should just not work in retail. Good store, bad employee.

Friendly staff, quick to answer all my questions. Having visited other ‘Big R’ locations, my family was surprised by the large and varied inventory within this Trinidad, CO, store. The facility was clean and the layout orderly. The $900 price I paid for the item I purchased at Big R could not be beat by my internet searches to Lowes and Home Depot. The front-line manager made exceptions for me at the check-out counter when a formidable difficulty arose. The support employees gladly lifted the heavy item I purchased so I wouldn't have to strain myself, putting it into the back of my truck.The team of employees at Big R in Trinidad, CO, were quick to help us, addressed and overcame EVERY matter that arose and even ensured I received two specialty discounts (veteran's + Big R 'Frequent Buyer') during my visit and that deserves the ranking of “Excellent service!”Do yourself a solid and support THIS local business! “Thank you so much, Big R of Trinidad!”

Fantastic customer service..!!! Assistant manager Will and Mr. Devon Chavez went above and beyond in the freezing cold, even though they were closing, to help a customer in great need of propane heat for his RV and our six kids. Thank you Big-R for hiring such quality employees that really care.

Nice setup. It's a bit different from the other stores. We went in at 630 pm and the store was to close at 8. First thing I noted was the gun case was closed and covered. The employees stated that they were told to close it by the manager present. I would have liked to check out their collection of firearms. Not just the handguns, but the long guns were taken down and locked away.Otherwise, it was a decent place.

This place used to be my go-to for pet supplies and dog food, however I will not be going back as several of the employees at this store don't wear masks, and now their customers may have been exposed to covid-19 between October 26 to October 29, 2020, they haven't been taking it seriously.I cannot afford to put myself or others I live with at risk, and anyone reading this should be aware of the risk as well.

Big R stores I love but ordering online, I did it for the first time a week and a half ago and I won’t ever do it again. I ordered a pair of boots for my daughter the payment went through and I got a email saying we are processing your order well a week and a half later still no other email saying my order has been shipped so I call and come to find out the boots I ordered are discontinued...well why didn’t I get an email saying they were discontinued and I’ll be getting a refund? The worst! They were a Christmas gift for my daughter and I still don’t have my money back!

Usually have what I'm looking for. Their prices on DeWalt items are generally $20 higher across the board. You save that in time, gas-money and frustration versus driving to Pueblo. Great selection on Western Wear and Cowboy Boots!! High quality and Name brand names!! Awesome selection of ALL Carhartt clothing as well. Customer service is always top-notch and very helpful!! Great Store for Trinidad to have!!

We bought 6 peeps . Within 4 hours one was dead one doesn't look good . My husband call and asked about a guarantee . They said no guarantee that's the risk you take when you buy a live animal. We called tractor supply they have two day guarantee.. So buy your peeps their.

Used to buy all of our ranch and animal supplies here, until it became apparent management was not taking Covid guidelines seriously. On multiple occasions we've witnessed employees not wearing masks, customers not being asked to either, and employees making comments that "covid was a hoax" and making snide comments about customers who were choosing to mask up. Now due to their negligence, they've put our community at risk by disregarding a public health order to deal with an exposure risk and did not immediately close down to sanitize when asked. My family will never shop at this store again, Tractor Supply in Raton may be a bit more of a drive but its worth it to spend our money elsewhere.

New to town love the store but someone answering the phone there needs training. I called to ask if they had any grass. I got put on hold for over 10 minutes before I hung up. Then when I called back. I got immediately put on hold. I notice this alot in Trinidad. Customer service is horrible.

This from a city-girl transplant in a farm supply store: great range of Dog food (including grain-free) and supplies, durable work wear, and really Stylin' western clothes. Nice tack and gear for horses, goats, chickens... just about anything for a working farm. Travellers with animals: exit 15 for high-quality food for your dog and other livestock.

Not a nice store! Customer service is really nasty when you want to exchange a gift to a different size. Same kind same brand. Nope! Sad part is we have had 2 other bad experiences before. La Veta Big R will be our go-to from now on!

They seem to always be willing to help me find what i need. If your looking for a good selection of animal food this is the place. They carry most anything you need for any of your pets.

I have shopped at Big R all across the country. This is a nice store. Very clean and well organized. Staff are always courteous.
