I was happy to find a place that would see my rooster. The staff was lovely, and the doctor was very gentle handling him for examination. He called my rooster "a good kid" on account of how well-behaved he was. It was very sweet.

Very easy visit. We have a large & friendly bullmastiff who loves people & the vet (oddly enough) & none of the staff were fazed by him! I was a little nervous when they took my puppy face back & we had to wait in the exam room but it seemed to actually work better in our situation. My husband & I were both very pleasantly surprised by how quick the exam was, which included removing a few stitches that did not dissolve. We were so pleasantly surprised that I booked a grooming session for him! Looking forward to seeing how he looks!Update: we took our doggy in for a complete grooming session & he looks great! Money well spent!

My animals and I absolutely love this place. We are always greeted immediately by the friendly front staff and there is no wait for my appointments. My animals are always treated well and the techs are very knowledgeable. Dr. Fujikawa is a amazing vet that works with my aggressive malinois and she is always well taken care of and I know she is safe while being looked at and treated. He does wonders with my old Shepard, and under one year pitbull as well! He also sees my snakes which is a huge plus! The facility is always clean and tidy. They even have grooming and my dogs have never looked better! Krissi did a wonderful job!Overall this is the best place for all my needs and I highly recommend them. They will take care of your babies like family.

Updating my review: My partner and I are new puppy parents so we decided to choose CityVet because of all the good reviews. I have no doubt others had a great experience however him and I did not. Him and I pretty much hated every single interaction with this vet but here’s the highlights.1. At the initial visit we decided against their “puppy package” they sold. Again we’re new puppy parents we wanted to make sure we liked the vet interaction and we’re nervous. After my boyfriend checked out the front desk person told him that he should really do the puppy package and not take him to a rescue to get him neutered because there’s a “high kill rate” we both thought what a thoughtful and comforting thing to say to a new parent… We came home and talked about it and decided we were okay with doing a puppy package so the scare tactic obviously worked. We were told over the phone that what we already paid at his first visit could be added to the package and we could pay the difference. That was not true after the vet caught wind of that they made sure we paid full price.2. Every time we took our puppy to CityVet we were told he’s “too squirmy” we need to expose him to more touch on his paws etc… At a blood work visit he had we asked that the vet please check our puppy’s ears, he had been scratching them for 3 days really badly and we knew they were infected and he needed help. We were told he was too squirmy and there was no way they could look at his ears and we would have to wait 5 days until his neutering appointment when he was under anesthesia. It should also be noted my puppy is a dachshund mix, he is by no means hard to handle or too large to handle. This left us at the emergency vet on Christmas because our puppy’s ears were bleeding so bad and infected. We have since taken him to 3 vet and the feedback was that our puppy has a great temperament and is not too squirmy at all…

We had to unexpectedly put our very old dog down, I called maybe 5 vets and no one was able to get him, and his normal vet was extremely unfriendly so we didnt want his last minutes being with someone who did not seem to care for animals. When I called City Vet, they were friendly, helpful, very understanding, and professional. Although it was an experience no dog parent is ready for City Vet was amazing. When I am ready to take care of another animal this is the vet I will absolutely be comfortable bringing them to!

CityVet Thornton is an absolute disgrace. If I could give them zero stars, I would. They not only neglected my precious dog during surgery, but they also did such a horrendous job that we had to rush to an emergency vet less than two weeks later.Let's start with the neglect. After the initial surgery, my dog's sutures started to open. Did CityVet Thornton offer any help or assistance? No. They turned us away, leaving us to deal with the mess they created. I had to take my poor dog to an emergency vet to get staples, which surprise, surprise, didn't hold for long. When I contacted CityVet Thornton to explain the situation and request reimbursement for their botched job, they had the audacity to blame us. They claimed it was our fault for not getting sedatives, even though our dog is the chillest pup you'll ever meet. I was with him 24/7 post-surgery, so I know for a fact he didn't run or jump. But according to CityVet Thornton, that's the only way the sutures could have come undone. What a load of nonsense. We've poured so much time and money into fixing their mistakes, and worst of all, my poor dog has suffered immensely because of their incompetence. The fact that CityVet Thornton refused to take any responsibility for their actions is beyond appalling.Save yourself the heartache and avoid CityVet Thornton at all costs. They clearly prioritize their bottom line over the well-being of your beloved pets. We will never set foot in that place again, and I will be sure to warn everyone I know to steer clear of this negligent excuse for a veterinary clinic. Shame on you, CityVet Thornton.

I love the 3 people i seen while we were there. Joseph Fujikawa is a great Dr./Vet. He seems to really care about the animals he takes care of. Hes not just in it to make a few $$$. Thank you to all the employees there. Keep doing what you do and i will be recomending your office to my friends and family. Sincerely Dee

Best care ever!! Everyone was so polite and caring. Also they took me dog right away as we had a bit of an emergency. They offered me coffee and sparkling water while I waited. They took very good care of my dog and even offered to assist me taking my dog to the car. Definitely will be taking my dog to them from now on.

Visited for the first time yesterday with our sick pup. Such a great experience! Very nice facility, staff was very friendly and welcoming. I was especially impressed with the thoroughness of the doctor. She took lots of time to hear our concerns, explain everything in depth and answer all of our questions. We'll be making CityVet our primary from now on!

Friendly and informative staff. I brought in my dog for a nail trim with no issues. The groomer brought my dog back and explained what to look to determine if a dogs nails are too long versus still fine. Clean and modern office, highly recommend for grooming service.

Absolutely love this place! It's a night and day difference from my last vet to CityVet Thornton. I highly recommend them due to availability, taking care of my dog, empathy, knowledge, cleanliness, and friendly staff. The place feels inviting and has a friendly vibe to it that my dog and I noticed immediately. I switched to CityVet from my old vet for these reasons. The office itself is nestled away in a small shopping center next to a Starbucks off 128th in front of the Wal-Mart. The place has plenty of light, room and places to sit. It didn't feel like a cold hospital or vet room. Lots of bright colors and sun in the room I'm usually put in. My dog loves this place and usually has a smile ready to go in. There's a small python in an aquarium in the main lobby / waiting / check-in and check-out area that need's a good home.I brought my dog here because my dog's toe got severely infected. It needed to be amputated and CityVet was able to accommodate this quickly. I got the run around between my old vet and the closest Pet ER over a month. Meanwhile the infection got worse and my dog being in constant pain. The old vet and ER quoted me 3x as much and an appt wouldn't be available for 2 weeks. I get their super busy with the neighborhood pets.Dr. Fujikawa was able to fit my dog to get an amputation within 2 days. An exam was done to see how bad the infection got and made recommendations. Within the week the amputation is done and I have check ups every couple of days to make sure it looked good. My dog is without pain now and running around like his old self (with the exception of running into things because he has an e-collar on).Price: Very affordable versus the other vet offices in the area.Staff: Extremely friendly, knowledgeable and very kind. Katie, Autumn, Riona, Whisper, etc. always been a great interaction.Vet: I trust Dr. Fujikawa to work with my dog and make recommendations to keep my dog well and happy.Cleanliness: Very clean environment. What could be better: App is sort of useless because you can't make changes or see shot records. Not CityVet Thornton's fault, more like the corporate UX/UI designer and developer issue.I have already made tons of recommendations to my family and friends to switch. My sister and her family's dogs have already made the switch. Absolutely the best experience so far and felt I was always taken care of including getting calls and reminders. They truly do care about the pets and their owners.

The staff were very friendly and explained the expectation and cost upfront. The vet was super friendly and explained the health of our cats and made a few suggestions but was not pushy at all. We will be bringing all K off our pets here from now on!

Worst experience ever!! I took my dog in for a tumor removal. They convinced me into letting them do it because they talked about how their patient care was better than anyone else and how they pride themselves on how they take care of the animals they treat. However, I'm here to tell you not to fall for their lies. Picking up my dog from surgery, his stiches were loose and still had blood all over his incision site. They supposedly take so much pride in their work, however, couldn't even take the time to clean my dog off before sending him home. Within 48 hours, 1 of his stiches came undone. When I took him back in to get them fixed, they told me there was nothing they could do and that I would have to take him to the emergency vet to get them fixed. So I took him to the ER and they had to put in 2 staples. Then about 3 days go by and 3 more stiches came out we returned to the ER and they had to completely redo the surgery and fix the incision site. Since the last visit to the ER he has be able to recover slowly. I contacted City Vet about everything and it seemed like they didn't even care. They even had the audacity to blame us saying that it was our fault because our dog is too high energy which I assure you he has been laying on the floor since surgery and has only gotten up to go to the bathroom which is 5 steps outside with no elevation change. They said "sorry" and that was the end of it. So I'm writing this review to warn others don't take your furry best friends here. Take them somewhere else where they actually care and I tell you it will probably even be cheaper.

Great caring staff! I called around to find a vet to see my daughter’s rabbit . I was referred to CityVet, they were able to get me in within 24 hours for an appointment. The front desk staff, the technician that admitted our rabbit and the Dr were all very attentive and caring. Going into the Christmas weekend they provided us with contacts incase of an emergency. The Doctor was wonderful and very knowledgeable! And They care for all exotic pets! They office was very clean as well! That’s a plus! It’s very hard to find great animal care services these days. Thank you so much for helping us get our JoJo healthy again.

I’m not sure if the other reviews are paid for by City Vet but this City Vet location is a joke. We have a large breed with separation anxiety and this vet location doesn’t allow the owner to be with their pet during the appointment? Are you kidding? Then? Because you’re clearly untrained, you try to have a medium sized muzzle placed on my dogs extra large head. When I told them that wasn’t going to work, they walked out of the office and the appointment was over. City Vet, EVERY OTHER VETERINARIANS OFFICE that we have been to with our rescue Mastiff allows us to be in the room with our dog, while the vet inspects her. She’s never bitten a single person and although she has snapped at people she doesn’t know, she wouldn’t have as long as I would have been allowed in the room. This vet clearly can’t deal with anything outside of the normal house pet so if you have hearts like our family and you rescued an animal, find a vet that knows how to handle something outside of their little box. Also, all of the muzzling and not allowing me to be with dog during the appointment were all SURPRISES after we showed up to the appointment! Had I knows that this failed medical school vet was going to need a straight jacket and chloroform for the appointment, we would have canceled sooner. Its a shame because there so conveniently located but lack of experience and professionalism shows at this clinic. I hope you read your alleged first 1 star review and I hope other people read this review so they can see your true colors and lack of experience. Follow up. None of your reply to my review is true and I was more than willing to assist with my rescue dog that had a pretty traumatic beginning to her life. As we never provided you records for our first visit we don’t you sending them anywhere. The fact that you replied to this review with adding false information and a vet with a horrible attitude and bedside manner tells everyone else reading the review all they need to know. I’ll double down and say DON’T EVER GO TO THIS VET AS THEIR STAFF AND CLEARLY THE OWNER IS A LIAR AND A JOKE WHO ONLY CARES ABOUT RESPONDING TO REVIEWS INSTEAD OF FIXING THEIR MANY PROBLEMS AT THEIR NEW FACILITY! If you’d like to discuss your previously false comments in person I am more than happy to set up a meeting with you. Your staffs safety was never an issue and my dog didn’t lunge or show aggression in anyway to your staff.

First time coming here and had a good experience here. They made my dog very comfortable and the Dr did a good job of explaining everything. I forgot that Costco does do pet prescriptions and they will get you a physical copy if you ask and don’t need the prescription right away.

I wouldnt recommend this vet. Having to surgery stitches redone because they weren't done properly for the dog is ridiculous. Having office staff call and give test results for a test they've already given you results for was embarrassing. Then you asked to schedule his surgery since it showed cancer. You know, the surgery your staff already completed days before?! WTH? I was embarrassed for you, now I'm just disgusted. Your staff doesn't even know what's going on with tests, procedures and owner communications and we are supposed to trust you with our animals? No. I don't recommend. And I have that conversation recorded. It will play well in small claims court. Please spare me the "we cant find you in our system," response whenever you dont get a review you like. You couldn't find our dogs records showing what you'd already done. Not locating owner names is no surprise.

CityVet-Thornton is a wonderful clinic in a unique little shopping area. We bring our pup, kitty, and our leopard gecko here! Doctor Fujikawa and Whisper are so awesome and were very informative with our lizard's husbandry as well as getting our new puppy care when we needed it! The technicians always give us our estimate before we decide to receive care and they are so thorough with what our pets' day will look like!Thank you for your hard work and passion for Obie, Kumo, and Haku!

Unfortunately both of our dogs came down with a stomach bug over the Thanksgiving holiday. They were able to get us in quickly to help get our dogs feeling better. They had all of the meds on hand including some stomach friendly food. They also gave us tips and tricks to help us when they have stomach issues in the future. I appreciated that they gave us an estimate at the beginning of the visit so we knew how much the visit could cost us but also let us know that the price would likely be less if we didn’t need some of the tests. The good news is that the visit for both dogs ended up being much less than originally quoted and overall very reasonable. Not only were we impressed with today’s visit we plan on using them for all of our regular vet visits going forward.

Take this review how you want to, I lost my patience and temper but I also think CityVet could have done a much better job.The first visit I was checking out when finished and noticed a points rewards system on their screen and asked about and was made to feel stupid and told there wasn’t anything like that. Brushed it off as a new location new staff, but still def rubbed the wrong way.The real issue: My dog has allergies, we were on an injection allergy medicine and I tried to switch her back to a pill allergy medicine that she’d been on most her life already. I wanted to switch because the pill used to be cheaper but it was actually more in the end not that the staff member cared to let me know until I was there to buy the medication. So we switch, fast forward two months thinking I’ve got her situation managed, a refill for her med once goes to 1800petmeds, they reach out for authorization, CityVet leaves me a voicemail saying they will be authorizing this prescription this time but so that I’m not “blindsided” when the next refill comes around they won’t because she needs to come in for blood test. Why when I switched to this course of medication that wasn’t something I was told? There was always intent of her being on the medication chronically so why wouldn’t a licensed veterinarian tell me I need to do a blood test from the start? So this is where I call CityVet and I lost my patience and temper with whisper and dr. F. They repeatedly told me they were approving this round of medication and the next day I was contacted by 1800petmeds saying they still haven’t gotten authorization. This was Tuesday March 5th and today Saturday March 9th I have been contacted again saying they cannot receive authorization for the medication. So if you’re in this for the care of animals and you care about animal, tell me now please taking something out on my dog because of my actions. You said you approved the medication, you lied. This practice doesn’t seem to care about your pets they just seem to care about getting a paycheck at the end of the day. I asked about any information on help or programs or advice on how a person affords a 300 blood test on top of 145 dog medication as well as everyday live expenses? The answer I received from dr. F? “It’s not our job to help you with finances” this place is just wildly unprofessional and I am super bummed everything turned out the way it did.

My dog appeared to be in pain so I called different vets in the area trying to get a same-day appointment. After briefly describing the visual signs my dog was showing, CityVet was able to get us an appointment. Unfortunately we didn't receive good news but the staff here was very thorough and accommodating. This will be our new vet.

Update 3/31/2024: It is sad that City Vet has to lie to the Better Business Bureau. You should be embarrassed that your business engages in these practices. I will make sure to let others know how this practice operates.Initial appointment was on 3/6/2024 for Champ to receive an exam and his Bordetella. Upon arriving Champ was not greeted and once I tried to get him on the scale, he panicked. The front desk workers did not offer treats or talk to champ to put him at ease. Once in the exam room they were going to try to take champ for an exam and to look at his ears. They were not able to get his weight and I don’t see how they were able to 'exam' him if they couldn’t get near him. They brought him back and told me to reschedule so they could check his ears. They provided a prescription to trazodone to calm him for the next visit.I gave my dog 1 as instructed and brought him back on 3-07-2024. Again they were not able to look at his ears. They sent me home with 2 swabs and I agreed to bring it back the next day. I brought back the swabs at noon on 3-08-2024. They took the swabs back to the vet who then said to charge for an ear cytology. The office manager Katie stated they were putting the charges in. I asked what are the charges? She said it’s $88 (or another similar amount). I said wait, I paid for the exam already and no one told me there would be another charge for the ear cytology. I asked will there be another charge for the ear rinse that he is supposed to get? She said yes that’s $65.I told her that I appreciate transparency that they didn't provide and to stop services. She said I’m sorry I can find you some low cost clinics near by. I reiterated that it’s not that, it’s the lack of transparency. I walked out and walked back in to get her name and she provided her card stating she’s the manager and that I would end up talking to her anyway.I’m closing, City Vet is engaging in unfair business practices by misleading customers on the price for services. This should have been communicated upfront instead of pulling a bait and switch the last minute.

New vet office for us and our senior mastiff! Entire staff went above and beyond to make sure he felt safe, was happy and well cared for. Everything including the bill was explained in great detail. Glad I found this place and switched! So is Moose!

I was very happy to learn we had a reptile vet in Thornton! Having our tortoise taken away for the exam was a little unnerving. I would have preferred to have him examined in front of us. I’m not a fan of my pets being taken from me at the vets and not having met the vet yet was concerning as well. That being said, Dr F was nice and seemed knowledgable.
