The only reason I give it 4 out of 5 stars is simply just because their prices tend to be a bit higher than other places. With that being said, I still choose to come here because it is convenient and also a bit pricier I can always find what I am looking for, it’s clean, easy to navigate, and their staff is pretty great. I have never had any issues anytime I have had to ask about something or just in general. I’m usually able to get in and out unless it’s ski season and well you aren’t going to find a place you can get in and out during this time. I love their rewards program, and they seem to always be having great sales on everyday products.

They are in a vacation area and they offer through their Safeway website online delivery. Which seems like a great option until you find out last minute that large portions of what you ordered are not available and the system does not let you pick substitutes for yourself.I called and they were completely dismissive of me.Now I missing multiplekey ingredients for two different dinners. Never again Safeway!

For years I have used Safeway pharmacy because they have the best caring customer service. Today was the exact opposite. Emily? gave me shifting stories about a nationwide insurance breakdown and was uninterested in helping. She told me to overpay for my meds or don’t get them. The pharmacy I transferred the script to had no such problems and I was charged correctly. This person is not up to the previous high standards of Safeway steamboat pharmacy

Let’s start with the good. It’s big, close to the mountain and it’s open late.Now the bad. Really sad quality of produce. Not a single ripe banana in sight. Although technically the store is open until 11, when we arrived at the deli counter at 8:45 PM, we were told flatly, “we’re closed.” Checkout was similarly unhelpful. We had bought a lot, were one of very few people in the store, and yet the checkout representative could barely lift a finger to help us bag the groceries.

This place is awesome. I'm from Hawaii and I found Ahi to make fresh Poke. Their fish department isn't huge but it has a good variety of regional seafood including lobster, clams, mussels and shrimp from down south -

This safeway never has what is on sale. Peaches for .97 were gone the first day and they didn't get more. Petite sirloin steak, 4.+ a lb. Never saw any. Ask for the manager and the employee laughed? What is up? City market has better selections

I have never interacted with a ruder more aggressive cashier in a self service line ever. Judy kept saying “shut lady!” Then going “that’s to the machine not you.” She was double discounting clearance items even when I explaining only one item was an issue. It was a horrible experience.

The SAFEWAY in Steamboat Springs is awesome! There is everything you can ask for. I am particularly excited about the bakery, which has a very nice dounut section.So glad to have everything we needed in one store. They are upgrading some flooring, which looks very nice. The only suggestion I have is not stocking the shelves in the middle of the day. But, it's nice to see the shelves full for sure.

I feel very blessed to have Safeway in town. Using the app I find makes the prices reasonable for a resort town and there is a wide selection of organic and gluten free options (more than most grocery stores around the country). It’s impressive too that the staff is long-term, allowing for relationships to develop and store knowledge to grow.

I’m surprised by the 4 star reviews. The staff are super friendly. That’s true.The selection is poor. So many things are sold out consistently. I’ve lived in far more remote mountain towns that had much better selection. Oftentimes the produce is rotten or on the verge of it. The store is small for a town the size of Steamboat. When busy parking is terrible.

We picked up the last flavor of a special ice cream; the package was damaged (missing about a 1/4 of ice cream)I walked it to customer service. Monday, 6:30pm. No line and store not busy.I asked the rep if he could double check if more was available. He replied he ‘didn’t have time for this’ and walked away. Then he entered a small office to the right of the desk, then slammed the door.

The fruit selection was great and the bakery items are made fresh daily. The meat selection was good. The biggest thing we didn't care was the price of isle items. The steak season was $2 more per container at Safeway compared to City Market. Several other items were just like that.

Your average grocery store with all of your needs Under One Roof! There are a few special things I go here for, one being the best Meats, two being good sushi.. everyone is super friendly and will help you if you can't find what you're looking for.

The lines here are longer than any store I've ever been to. I like to get food from the deli get but it's always cold after the 20+ minute wait in line. It makes me curious why they have 5 check-out lines if only two are ever open? They are always well staffed at the self check-outs too. It's odd how making a buck comes before quality customer service at Safeway.

It was okay there were quite a few essentials they were out of that I needed. The deli looked nice and had a good selection of chicken wing flavors. Me and another lady were both lost trying to find pancake mix.

The pharmacy was very accommodating in getting me my prescription that I left at home. It only took them 3 hours to contact me after navigating through the medical pharmacy system and getting authorization. The store had all my needs.

Was traveling through and had a hard time finding a product. Asked an employee who just said I don’t know. It took 2 locals to point me in the right direction without even asking them for help. Must had a lost look on my face.
