We stayed here driving through town on our way to Durango. It was easy to find and check in was very smooth. We got upgraded for free due to someone else's cancellation which was very nice. The room had a cabin feel and everything we needed. The only downside was the bed was very firm, it was a bit uncomfortable.Rooms: Cabin feel rooms, small bathroom with a regular size tub and shower. Parking right outside our room. The hotel is right off a faster road so it can be a bit noisy but not terrible.

Great little lodge with pet friendly cabins. Stayed with 2 teenagers and our dog for 5 days to ski Wolf Creek. Perfect place to stay. Cabin was rustic, clean, cozy and set up nicely. The owner, Jose, was super nice to speak with, and is a veteran. Hard to beat this place.Stayed here again over New Year’s 2023-24. New owners, but same great value. Pet friendly, south fork location near the slopes. Definitely not The Ritz, but it is really cozy and family friendly when it’s more about the alpine skiing and riding than it is where you’re staying.

Well. I understand new ownership. Hoping it will get better. We camped here 4 nights for 4th of July weekend We were told you could see fireworks, No. Not even a glimpse. Our two reserved spaces were taken when we arrived. We were discounted and moved into other sites Mosquitoes were so bad. No one was outside very long,,rarely saw people outside except to walk dogs. Location is across the street from river, by an irrigation ditch. Not sure if they can spray. Noise from traffic constant. Some tight awkward spaces.So. I would probably not stay here again. Manager was very nice.Bachelor loop was beautiful, not too rough. Just go slow in cars.

Shannon was such a great host. She went above and beyond to make our stay nice and even helped us out with a ride when we had car trouble. We met some great people there and shared a campfire with families who have been coming there for years. Linens are new, and very soft. The facilities ( bathrooms) are very clean. We really enjoyed the people running this site. Thank you Shannon and Tom. We will be back soon.

Was allowed to do an early check in with ease. They offer complimentary tea and soda in the office. The room was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The room stayed quite warm even though we had the heat off so we slept with the window open the whole time. We let them know and check out and they seemed to get right on it though. It is right on the main road so a little loud at night, but just bring ear plugs and all is well.

Ute Bluff Lodge is perfect for what it provides. Safe affordable lodging and a steppingstone distance to Wolf Creek Ski Resort. My wife's comment, A little noisy from adjoining rooms so earplugs may be helpful. Water is hard so soap won't foam.Enjoy

Very casual place. Office was closed but a key was left in an envelope with our name, also just stick it back in the key box when you check out. There are free cokes in a cooler for tenants! A recreation center, a very nice hot tub area, and overall a very nice area. Only complaint would be our toilet wasn't working properly. But I was thoroughly pleased with this quaint lodge.

Ute Bluff Lodge was exactly where we needed it to be after a long drive west from Kansas. The small double-queen room had all the amenities: good memory foam mattresses, microwave and refrigerator, table and two chairs where we ate dinner and reviewed our day, excellent water pressure in the shower, coffee maker. There is a hot tub and the host told us to take all the ice we needed for our ice chest. We were on the highway end of the building but the double-glazed windows shut out the traffic noise. All for less than half the price of a room at the large chain whose clerk told us we had to book because we had no other options.

My friend and I booked a room at the last minute due to travel plans abruptly changing. We were very happy with our room which was clean, good-sized with a microwave and coffee maker. Beds were super comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. Got to sit outside in the early morning and watch the hummingbirds feed from the flower baskets hanging outside the rooms. No air-conditioner which is probably a bit of a shock to travelers not familiar with how cool Colorado nights can get, but they do provide a fan. Would definitely recommend this place and would be happy to stay there again.

I wish I could give 0 stars as this experience was absolutely terrible. If you want a nice relaxing getaway in south fork there are plenty of places to stay, however THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM! Do not waste your time as we did. The website and Google information are not accurate and have false information. There were 0 operational hot tubs on the property being a major reason we booked this location, it was our anniversary and wanted to definitely utilize the tubs and have a relaxing time. We weren't very interested in the property after that seeing as the main amenities that we booked for were not operational. The front desk lady was very uncaring of the situation, did not see the problem with anything and would not give a refund for the half deposit we already made. This would not have been as big of an issue had the situation been handled differently and the lady apologetic in anyway. Then after checking in and realizing there was a huge stain on the sheet, we went to pull the sheet back to see of further stains and take the dirty top sheet off the bed, to our surprise white powder was coming off the sheet and blankets in heaps and upon further inspection was all throughout the bed. It seemed like someone was pouring sugar packets on the bed. The microwave was filthy on the inside with food remnants and just overall the room was not as clean as you'd expect as well. We went to discuss the issue with the very rude front desk person who blatantly told us the housekeeper puts carpet powder in the beds with no concern or anything about it! We were disgusted and appalled. She offered no resolve for the situation instead just pushing us out and now offering a refund at this point which we asked for to begin with. Such a shame the property is very charming but clearly the owners have issues that need to be resolved if they care about their customers which was clear they don't in our experience. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

Christian and Margareta are amazing people. We've been family friends for years, and we just spent last Christmas with them at Ute Bluff Lodge. They treat you like family and they are also very professional. They actually were able to take care of our entire family, which included around 30 people, which is no small feat. We stayed with them for 3 days or so, and they were nothing but giving and hospitable during our stay. Their well water there is fantastic. In fact, all their accommodations are great. We plan to visit them again in the future to experience more fun and adventure. Highly recommended.

My family and I stayed at Ute Bluff Lodge in our RV and we didn't want to leave! We felt like we were Family! The hospitality was Fantastic and the owners are the sweetest RV campsite owner's we've ever met! They are very friendly and helpful. They helped us find a place to eat locally for Thanksgiving and suggested places to visit. They offered to get games, movies, etc for my daughter. The wifi here is the best I've ever had at a campsite. They have two clean and working hot tubs - I saw the owner dump the water and scrub one while we stayed. They have a rec room with a bathroom and kitchen in it that you can use if you need one. While we didn't stay in the cabin or any of their lodging areas. The owner said he had just bought all new mattresses, bedding material, towels and fixed up a ton of other things. I love how I'm always seeing them working on projects at the lodge. You can tell they are hard workers and that they truly care about the lodge as well as your stay! It's great to see!I am recommending Ute Bluff Lodge to all of my traveling friends and we'll be back next time we have to come this way!!

My husband, 2 y/o daughter and I stayed in Cabin 8 “Winter Retreat” at The Ute Bluff Lodge, Cabins & RV Park over the 4th. I really hate to give such a negative review, but had I seen the reality of this “cabin,” prior to booking, I wouldn’t have stayed here.To be clear; I don’t have a problem with staying at a dated place; however, our room was not only dated, it was extremely dirty. To the point I didn’t feel comfortable not wearing shoes while in the room and I was concerned as to whether the sheets and towels had been cleaned as I knew the room hadn’t been.Examples of lack of cleanliness:1. Large stains all over the carpet and couch.2. The room reeked of marijuana half the time and just stale/dank air the other.3. The eating table was sticky as if it had a film over it.4. The bottom of the shower curtain was moldy5. The caulk between the shower and tile wall had disintegrated and there was mold all around the tub.6. Dead moths all over the carpet in bedroom7. A FINGER NAIL left on the floor next to the bed.Examples of lack of general maintenance and upkeep:1. Curtains over the windows had holes in them.2. Door handle on fridge broke off and not replaced3. No plate over light switch leading to exposed wiringFor some, these may not be a big deal; however, I had expected a clean place to stay with my family and instead I was concerned about bathing my daughter in the bathtub because of the mold. And if the cleaning staff can’t pick up a fake nail, I’m concerned as to whether they did any cleaning at all. Also, this is not a “cabin,” it is a motel. I was under the impression that it would be a standalone building but it wasn’t. This was also important to me because my daughter sometimes cries and I didn’t want to disturb and shared wall mates.

Beautiful lodge in a quaint little town. The owner was so friendly! He gave us recommendations on things to do and was so welcoming. He made our experience even more memorable. The rooms were very clean and the two outdoor hot tubs were a great bonus. Would definitely recommend this place.

I was just traveling through and needed a place to crash. It was after hours but the staff was still very accommodating. The room was very clean and price was excellent. Even scored some home made caramel . Even though I was just traveling through the lodge in general was very nice and it would be a great basecamp to explore the area.

Wife and I travel full time in our F-450 and Grand Design 380-FLR 42Ft. 5th wheel RV. I'm a retired veteran, currently work as a VOIP IT Tech and remote work full time - We booked this site about 3 months prior to arrival. Google Maps (Street view) doesn't give this place any justice. We booked our stay for a month. First off, the staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodated our needs everyday, mail, fantastic conversationalists, etc. This Tuesday we start Pot luck suppers, they have chocolate cookies at the front counter, a rec room and a host of other things around the lodge that give it that clean rustic look and home town feel. This lodge can accommodate a LOT of people in their cabins and RV park. In the middle of the property there's a gathering place that can easily hold 50 people and fire pits and soon to be resurrected, a Tee-Pee. The prices are VERY reasonable for this area. Internet is pretty descent 35Mbx10Mb over Wi-Fi. We were in the middle of the Park and signals for AT&T and Verizon had 5 bars each. Our RV site was about 60 ft. long, compacted gravel and the property is well maintained. When we backed into our spot, we are right up against the bluff, it is SO serene. RV Park has full hookups 50/30 AMP, sewer hookup and water is fresh and clean. So far, we've seen a LOT of deer grazing early mornings with some frisky chipmunks running around, Magpie birds and a few walking trails on the property that you can climb to the top of the bluff. FANTASTIC views surrounding the properties and the Rio Grand River is across the street. Water is COLD.. South Fork local stores and restaurants aren't too abundant but you're a hop skip to closer larger cities for larger grocery shopping needs. I need not mention how beautiful this place is, we're in Colorado. We HIGHLY recommend this place, it's a hidden gem.

I spent two summers at Ute Bluff Lodge, Cabins, and RV Park in my RV and loved every minute of it. The owner works hard and goes the extra mile to make sure all the guests have what they need and feel like part of the family! The park is small and beautiful and very well maintained. From Ute Bluff you can easily travel all over the region or you can float, fish, hike, ATV, and drive the NPS roads without leaving South Fork area. There is so much to see and do here that even spending two whole summers was not enough to do everything! I highly recommend this resort for any season for a wonderful Colorado outdoor living experience!

We had a bad experience when we went to south fork Colorado in July 2017. The cabin we rented for a week was terrible. It wasn’t nothing like what we expected. So we checked out and we had our lab with us so we didn’t know what we were going to do. We thought our trip was ruined. Then we called Ute Bluff Lodge and they allowed pets and we checked in. They were so awesome and super nice people. They helped us get a cabin and even gave us a discount for the terrible experience we had with the other cabin that they didn’t have to because it wasn’t one of there’s. We take a family vacation to south fork every year and we will never go anywhere else but Ute Bluff Lodge. Great people and very clean cabins. The only thing I wish was different was the privacy on the cabin. They are right next to each other but everything else makes up for that. My family and I can never think you guys enough for what y’all did for us. Thank you guys again for the awesome visit we had. Hope to see you guys in 2018.

I stayed here for a week this summer (2017.) I was very happy with my room - there was a king bed with a new memory-foam mattress, a good, clean bathroom, and a medium-sized fridge. The owners are friendly and helpful and the staff are efficient and unobtrusive. There is a large community room with a full kitchen, tv area and tables. There are books and games. Outdoor grills are available in various parts of the park, which includes rooms, cabins and an RV park.It is an attractive and comfortable place to stay. I would definitely go back. I especially liked the birds, most particularly the hummingbirds, which seemed to like the gardens and flower baskets.

We stayed a week here and loved it. The staff was so friendly and helpful, giving us a map and suggestions of things to do while in the area. They also have a hiking trail behind the rvs that has a great view! The rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much.

This weekend we got the chance to stay at the Ute Bluff Lodge for a family reunion and we were not disappointed! Both the rooms and the camper lots were very accommodating! Christian and Margareta were very nice and helpful with any questions we had! Will definitely recommend and stay again if we are ever in the area!

The Ute Bluff Lodge is a rustic and charming place to spend a night or two. The rooms are basic, but comfortable. The communal kitchen in the rec room is very convenient, as are the multiple propane grills located around the property. Two outdoor hot tubs shaded by a timber framed shelter make a great place to relax after a day on the slopes or the trail. There are pet friendly rooms available, and some friendly pets (two dogs) to greet you at the front desk. There are DVD players in the rooms, and a large selection of titles are available in the office. Traditional lodge style rooms, private cabins, and a full service RV park are all accomidation options.Margareta & Christian are wonderful hosts, and definitely go the extra mile to make sure that their guests are happy and comfortable. I highly recommend a visit to the Ute Bluff Lodge. Also, the breakfast pastries with green chillies are delicious.

We stay in the RV Park and have been coming here to spend the summer (June thru mid-Sept) for about 5 years. Christian is a wonderful host. We have a beautiful spot up against the bluff and have great mountain views. Unless something happens to us we'll be coming for many more years!January, 2020We stay at the RV Park, but there are nice motel rooms and great cabins. There are beautiful views from here and it's a great base to stay here and take day trips to lots of places, or you can take a beautiful ride in the mountains. Maybe we'll see you there this summer.

Quaint lodge, pet friendly, clean rooms and comfy beds, very friendly staff. The oxygen bar really helped, i didnt realize how much the altitude change would affect me, I highly recommend. There was an annoying tapping in the room we stayed in that kept me up, beware if you're a light sleeper. Staff was super nice, would love to stay here again in the future!
