The room was not ready when we arrived to check in at 3pm. We went to eat and came back at 4:30 and we were allowed to check in. the room was clean enough, but heat was provided by a gas (LPG or Natural Gas) radiant heater. It glowed bright orange, and I think it was a safety hazard since loose clothing could catch fire if too close.The main problem with the room was that the heater emitted fumes which gave my wife and I a headache. I would also question whether this heater would provide heat to the separate bedroom.We talked to the manager/owner, and since there were no other rooms available, she agreed to give us a refund and we left.Later, we found out she did not give us a full refund, but charged us for the first night. This was after she gave me a document showing we would get a full refund. After that, they never answered the phone or returned calls.Other problems were mostly cosmetic. There were large holes in the bedspreads and some clutter on shelves and cabinets.Pro Tip: Bring a hair dryer and shampoo.

My husband and I recently stayed at Rainbow Lodge for a night, and our experience was a bit of a mixed bag.On the positive side, the room was incredibly spacious, providing ample room for us and our large dog to move around. Additionally, the affordability of the lodge was a definite plus.However, there were several notable downsides. The room's decor felt severely outdated, which clashed with the contemporary touch of the LED mirror in the bathroom. We were surprised to find there was no hand soap provided, which we consider to be a basic necessity.One of the most disappointing aspects was the size of the beds. They appeared to be full-size, making it a tight fit even for a slim couple. The water temperature was inconsistent, allowing for only one hot shower at night. In the morning, we were left with cold showers due to the water not heating up.Cleanliness was also a concern. The coffee pot, towels, and other essentials were not up to standard, prompting us to use our own supplies. The deadbolt on our door was non-functional, which raised security concerns.Moreover, the thin walls made it difficult to escape the noise of neighboring conversations, disrupting our sleep.Rainbow Lodge offers a spacious room and an attractive price point, but falls short in several crucial areas. With improvements in decor, maintenance, and amenities, this lodge has the potential to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable stay for guests.

Rented their #5 cabin through Airbnb. When we arrived I immediately noticed how filthy the main office was which had a very strong odor, which was my first red flag. We were given our key and we left to find cabin #5. We parked in front of a cabin with a white #5 next to the door and let ourselves in with the key. Moments later, Joshua the front desk clerk barged in the room and rudely let us know that we were in cabin #15 and the one in front of the five had fallen off and had not yet been replaced. The key we had let us into the wrong mislabeled cabin. This was our second red flag. We made our way to the correct cabin and it had a broken refrigerator that was de-thawing on the front porch. The cabin was filthy upon entering our “correct” cabin. There were stains on the sheets, the bathroom was filthy, and overall a dump. I have attached pictures in my review. When I went to complain to Joshua, he was a complete a$shole and provided no help. Thankfully Airbnb returned my money and canceled my reservation. I had to still dispute the pet fee charges with my credit card.DO NOT STAY HERE!!! It is a filthy dump and Joshua is a sad, pathetic lump of a man…Rooms: Filthy and disgusting. This place is a dump

Great rate. Great location. Friendly and engaging staff. Very clean. I got a 2 bedroom for $70! The view is awesome and 30 minutes from Wolf Creek.Best value proposition near Wolf Creek. I loved it so much I stayed another night.And what a view from my room!!

This place fulfilled my two biggest needs - it was open and it has cabins that allow dogs. I was just there for one night and for that it was perfect. It was clean and warm and quiet. The bed was comfortable. There was a bottle opener for my beer. The woman at the front desk was lovely and helpful.But for multiple days, it would not be ideal. The pipes are so old that the tub is stained with rust. I had my own water for drinking. The "well stocked" kitchen did not appear to have a decent set of pans for cooking on the stove. I was there in April before things are busy.The cabins are situated near the entrance so in the summer, every camper is going to drive right by them. You would probably want the windows open and then noise and dust would come in.Bottom line - if you just need a quiet place to sleep for one night with your pets, this place is perfect.

I stayed here after being badly let down by the Quality Inn and Suits down the road. Had to wake up the owner at 2am who cheerfully provided a room without fuss.Great wifi, clean room with all the expected appointments like fridge, microwave and coffee machine. Complementary water is a nice touch too.This may not be the most modern hotel but this is more than made up for with attention to detail and service provided by someone who obviously cares about her business and clients.

Nice basic motel room. The decor is dated, but I come to Colorado for the mountains, not the motels, so I'm barely in the room. The staff is great, very willing to accommodate requests. The cabins are quite comfy. My parents have rented a cabin here every September for 20+ years!

My wife and I parked our camper here this past summer season from July until October. Let me start by saying that Sally is truly one of the most amazing people I have ever met, I knew her 13 years ago when my wife and I got married here and lived here and she hasn't changed one bit. She has always been this sweet caring mothering inspiration of a person secondly Danny is so quick to fix anything that is wrong and maintains the park and hotel like a true worker! The rooms are so clean and the professional cleaners they employee wash every sheet and comforter for every stay no matter what! I was run asked to leave 13 years ago from another RV place because we worked late hours and came in later than the guests liked. The RV family at rainbow opened their arms and welcomed us right in with a cold margarita and a warm smile. Mayor Larry and his man cave/ city hall made us feel right at home! The rec hall is really neat and nice place to hang out, fish cleansing station is a plus, laundry facility on site, liquor store within walking distance, wifi is fast, and mostly the HOT TUB IS THE PERFECT way to unwind and just watch the sun go down! I SAY all that to say this ! THE price for this place is the cheapest you will find, the quality of staff and your stay is unbeatable, and you will not find a better place to stay or make memories within 400 miles of Mrs. Sally and THE RAINBOW LODGE! TELL em Brad sent ya and treat Sally and them like family and they will do the same !!

Our stay was really pleasant. We liked the rooms there was new furniture and stuff. Room was very spacious nicely done interiors. Old couple running the place were very helpful and privilege was ours to talk to them. As there is a saying older and wiser. Will definitely love to visit again.

All I can say is "WOW" Big shout out to the new owners, staff & management! Great coustmer service!! Big change from past ownership! These guys care about their guest!Rainbow Motel is in a great location right off the Hwy. It was convenient to have the Rainbow grocery & gas station next door.We rented 2 of the UTV side by side. Had a blast! Their rental price very reasonable for an 8hr rental. Trailer drops at different trail locations also offered, Helmets provided. Talk to Steve he has lots of knowledge on numerous trails & site's to enjoy the day on. Their UTV/ATV are in great condition, clean well kept. If your looking to ATV or UTV on the trails this is the place to rent them from! Again prices are reasonable!! I will recommend an definatly return, already looking forward to our next trip down from Denver!

The couple who ran the place where very delightful they made my stay there even though I was there to work very comfortable. The surroundings are beautiful great landscape not very much to do in town but you don't really want to when you're comfortable and peaceful in a place that's not home house my home for three months and I'd go back anytime.

You get what you pay for...and a little more (in a bad way). Bring a sleeping bag because you'll want to sleep on top of the comforter. This place is run down and unkempt. On our final day there (we spent 2) I was cleaning up our clothes and thought I saw a sock under the bed, nope, it was a pair of Spider-Man underwear that someone had defecated in and stashed for some poor patron to find, I'm not kidding, I couldn't even make this up. Also, it wasn't too hard to miss, particularly if you're a cleaning lady and your job is to clean rooms. so that speaks to the level of sanitation of this place. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!

Lousy. The woman behind the desk was barely civil. The sink and tub both drained poorly. The toilet needed a couple flushes to work. No toilet paper holder. No tissues.Generally run down and unkempt. Wouldn't give me a room away from the highway noise even though the motel was practically empty. Now I know why it was practicallyempty. Avoid if possible.

Great little place behind the grocery store and gas station they own. The grocery store is a Home Depot, sporting goods and camping mixed into one. Simple and down to earth place. Lots of nice regulars and friendly people.
