We had a wonderful experience at the Teller House in September this year. We arrived at the hotel on a day when the town was booked up, and the lovely host, Shirley, did her utmost -- spending over half an hour on the phone -- to obtain clearance to accommodate us in a room that had been previously reserved through Expedia by a no-show guest. We had a back room with snowshoes on the wall -- dark, quiet and very comfortable. In the morning, our car wouldn't start, and Shirley sprang into action once again, making calls and knocking on doors to find someone who could help us. Teller House is an elegant old hotel -- clean, comfortable and full of charm -- and worth a stay for those reasons alone, but what we will most remember is the spontaneous, generous and resourceful kindness of our host.Walkability: On the main street, close to all amenties.

I haven’t had the pleasure of staying here yet- I had planned a trip that unfortunately did not work out very last minute. But Shirley went out of her way to help accommodate me, and problem solve, and stayed in communication with me for days while we resolved my issue with making the trip happen. She has got to be one of the most friendly, helpful, kind people I’ve ever talked to! Shirley, even over the phone, is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever encountered!! I look forward to making this hotel my go-to stay in the future. Thank you, and hope to stay with you soon!

The absolute best hospitality I've ever received, Shirley went above and beyond. The passes were closed for two of our four night planned stay and she refunded us completely for those two nights along with texting me weather and Colorado DOT updates on when the roads should be opened. Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and complete tour of the Teller House. The inn is full of history and interesting books to read about the Teller House and the surrounding area. I can't imagine any of the other places to stay in Silverton offer what the Teller House does at such an affordable price. I hope to come back next winter!

I would caution anyone staying in a room here that faces the street. I just visited in August and stayed in room #1. It was unbearably hot and not conducive to good sleep. Outside the window was a street lamp that was on all night, so if I opened the window to cool the room down, the room would light up and I had bugs fly in as well. Even with the windows opened it was still horribly hot. I didn't sleep for two nights. Also, every door I used sticks. To enter my room I had to practically ram the door. To summarize -- it was very upsetting to pay for such poor sleeping conditions. All I needed from the Teller House was a place to rest my head and it most certainly was not that.

I’m a little bias.. I grew up in Silverton.I have history with this town and this hotel. So I loved staying here, the beds were comfortable & the coffee was good!I ALWAYS bring my own fan to Silverton and as always, I’m glad I did! I Slept like a champ! There is no hotel with AC in Silverton, so come prepared for hot summer nights or be sorry 🤷🏻♀️The hotel is upstairs and has ceiling fans, but the little plug in fan won’t keep you comfortable if you run hot.

Beautiful decore, good location, and an indescribable ambiance all make this one of the best hotels I’ve enjoyed. No, there is no color TV, or jacuzzi tubs; it’s VICTORIAN… Don’t know who Victor is? Victorian means the hotel is designed to follow stylistic cues found around 1820-1910, specifically english. Shirley runs the show, and she’s so utterly delightful that she makes Mary Poppins look like Sgt. Slaughter by way of comparison.

Beautiful-Beautiful-Beautiful to say the least. The staff was welcoming and helpful with all the friendliness entailed. I would stay here again and again. Don’t expect a TV….you don’t need it with a place like that and the bathroom in my room had the best view!Talk about, going #2 with a view!Keep it up Tellerhouse! You’re doing it very well.

We stayed here a few weeks ago for 3 nights. The hotel was closed for a year and I believe opened earlier this year (2021). The rooms were beautifully remodeled. It was quiet, the beds were comfortable and there was a mini fridge in the room. The room was a bit hot at night and did not have its own thermostat so we just left the windows cracked the second and third nights. There is a community bathroom with a shower available FYI. The staff was helpful and even left a vm on my phone stating that we needed to move our cars for the plows. We would stay here again.

This hotel is very quaint and clean, however- BEWARE- under new management and they do not offer any customer service. If you are unaware that your room doesn’t have a bathroom, they will not upgrade you. They don’t have hangers, breakfast, clock, tv, radio, microwave, fridge- most of which is advertised to be in room. There is no concierge, front desk service, or restaurant. They advertise free parking- which is actually for anyone. Stay at your own risk. The owner is not on site and her young daughter is left in charge. She has no inkling how to run a hotel and does not seem to care about customer service which in this venue should be prized. The owner is very rude and not accommodating. This is too bad because this could have been a very pleasurable experience. Just be aware.

An old fashioned hotel right along downtown main street. Room was decorated nicely. Ceiling fan made the temperature comfortable plus you could prop the window open if you wanted. Very quiet hotel. Nice Restaurant on bottom floor. I arrived in the early afternoon. Wanted to work on computer but could not get Internet to connect. Could not find anyone around all afternoon to ask about it. During the evening I call the phone number on the brochure and left a message about it. Rudy fixed the issue and came to by door. Nice place to stay.

This was a super quaint, perfectly located place that offered incredible views and super friendly service. Sydney (the manager) was hospitable and kept this early 20th-century inn clean and tidy. The views were hard to beat, too. One note to folks staying during the summer months - there's no air conditioning, but there were two fans and a window that opens, so while it was a little warm in the afternoon, by evening it cooled down quickly. Next time we're in Silverton, this will be our home-away-from-home.

What an adorable place! We stayed in Room 3 (single queen, private bath) and it was great! It was a bit warm on this summer night, even with the fans provided. The mattress is quite firm and it would have been nice to have more sleeping pillows. Would stay here again!

On priceline, all rooms are advertised as having private bathrooms. Without doing extra research, that is not actually the case. I was not giving the choice to get a private bathroom when I made my booking which would have been my preference. The room facing the street has no real window coverings on it and not only was it very bright but the sun coming in late in the day, now the street line is on and shining directly in my eyes.I usually inspect the pillows and mattress for stains and I have to give this room a one-star rating for not giving me the heebie-jeebies. Had I paid attention to this earlier, I would have went to the store and bought some duct tape and a black plastic bag to cover the window so I can get some sleep tonight, but I guess that's not going to happen. In the photo I posted, that is not the Sun shining, that is the street light shining through the inept blind.Just because this building was built in 1896 doesn't mean you can't put blinds on it that block out light or have clean bed sheets and pillow cases. It also doesn't preclude you from accurately describing what you're offering.

Overly strict in my opinion. Made reservations 3 months in advance for lodging durning a motorcycle trip. 5 days prior to checking in weather forecast was for rain and rock slides on the million dollar hwy. As a result I needed to cancel my reservation. They still charged my credit card $214 despite calling 5 days in advance, stating they're cancelation policy is 7 days prior. I would have appericated some understanding. I hope they needed that $214 because when I do make the trip I won't be staying with them!

Clean and cozy. No a/c, no TV, last minute booking (full campgrounds,) into a single queen-bed room with no bathroom (community down the hall…) Since we were 2 dudes on an overland trip, they provided a blow up mattress so we didn’t have to share a bed. Kudos.

A historical place with such an unique atmosphere. Very clean and the hosts are very friendly and are very knowledgeable about the hotel, town, and its history. Located right in the middle of the town and all shops and restaurants are within 5 mins on foot. Check-in and rooms are all on the second floor. I will definitely stay again.

This is a very nice clean hotel. There is no air or TV. We had the room facing the street, which you had to open windows for air so you got to hear on the noise on the street. Its a self check place so if you need anything ask the housekeeping in morning.

Wonderful experience. Attentive staff, great rooms, coffee served in morning. I'm a 4 or 5 star hotel kind of girl and was completely satisfied. Make sure to be prepared for breakfast. They don't serve any so bring your own or visit the coffee shop next door for some homemade treats.

Staff was great, room was immaculate, bed was comfy and warm, nice roomy bathroom and shower. The only problem I encountered, which was my fault, was handled by Rudy rapidly and without any complaint or hesitation. From here on out, whenever I come through Silverton, Teller House is where I'll stay.
