Feel so fortunate to have been able to take our sick dog to the Silverthorne Veterinary Hospital while in the mountains on a ski trip. We were able to make an appointment right away over Easter weekend and our pup was seen right away. The doctor and staff were extremely caring and compassionate and diagnosed and treated the problem. Our pup received a full evaluation and a few recommendations unrelated to his illness. Highly recommend and happy to add to the chorus of deservedly strong reviews. Thanks again.

I have gone to this vet for years and they are always absolutely amazing with my pups. I had a husky pup with cancer and they were always amazing with her and helped treat her through her end of life. I have a puppy and they fit us in when it is urgent and always help take of her mishaps :).

I was blown away by my experience at Silverthorne Veterinary Hospital. After discovering an unusual mass on my dog, we contacted several vets in the area. One other local vet immediately recommended intensive surgery, but couldn't even get us in for a biopsy for weeks. Dr. Justin at Silverthorne Vet Hospital was able to get us in quickly and worked to get us answers quickly.Dr. Justin was so patient in explaining what could be going on and walking us through our options. His kindness and attention was so appreciated during what was a very stressful and scary time for us. I will never visit another vet in Summit County - Dr. Justin is the way to go. I trust him completely with my pet's care.

I’ve been taking my cat, Lola, to Dr. Justin for the last 6 years. He has been great! He is knowledgeable, friendly, and always answers my questions. Dr Justin has helped me solve behavioral problems at home with Lola. He’s operated on her tooth and always recommends the best care. His staff are also extremely nice and helpful. I’m so happy to have a vet close by I can count on.

Great service and wonderful staff. We have an Irish Wolfhound who got pneumonia while we were in Colorado and had rapidly become severely ill. When the staff learned about the emergency situation, they were able to get him into the vet that afternoon and gave immediate treatment, plus a continued prescription for antibiotics. The staff were very nice and helpful and saved our dog's life! I would highly recommend this clinic!

We recently moved to Summit County and unexpectedly needed to see a vet after our puppy had some health issues. We found Silverthorne Veterinary Hospital and have mostly worked with Dr. Justin. He takes the time to listen to my concerns, thoroughly explain everything, and talk me through our options. When I'm in the office, I never feel rushed. He's also been very responsive to my worried emails and phone calls.We've seen different Vet Techs and Veterinary Assistants as well. They've all been wonderful - caring, compassionate and great to my dogs.We will continue to use SVH as our vet.

I highly recommend looking for a different practice here in summit county. The owner Dr. Justin is very verbally abusing to his staff. I’m shocked he still has a staff that works for him. While I was there I could hear him screaming and yelling extremely rude things to his staff members. I will never return.Edit: The blatant disrespect in the hospital managers response to my feedback clearly shows the unprofessionalism and disrectful mannerisms of this establishment. I came in for a routine checkup for my dog but didn't stay due to the erratic behavior that I could hear from the second I walked into the lobby. I will once again repeat myself, TAKE YOUR BUISNESS ELSEWHERE! Rude supervisory staff through and through. Stop making excuses and do better.EDIT #2: I lived in Oklahoma, I moved to summit back in January. I assume you got that information from stalking my Facebook? And again, I was a walk in customer. How could I possible be in your system when it’s THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER WALKED IN? I’m sorry if I just walked in at a bad moment when that commotion was happening but that’s why I left, and that’s why I posted this review.

I cannot recommend Silverthorne Veterinary Hospital or Dr. Brittany Duellman enough! Dr. Duellman had personally sat down and spent the time to thoroughly examine my pup, listen to her rather complex history, and fully listened to my concerns regarding an acute problem that we had brought her in for after having a negative experience at another vet in the county. The vet tech was also very compassionate and thorough as well. Best experience we've had at a vet by far, and I know that she'll always be in good hands with Dr. Duellman.

Dr. Justin and his staff are hands down the most kind, compassionate and knowledgeable team of vets I've ever worked with. Their follow-through is excellent. Dr. Justin has had to deliver some tough news in the last couple of weeks for my dogs and I'm so grateful for his patience with my questions, his honesty, and his obvious love for these animals and their owners.

I am very picky about vets and when we moved with 3 dogs over 13 years old I was worried. That is until I meet Dr. Justin, he is fantastic. He takes his time, always up to date on reading new studies and finding better ways to keep the best quality of life of my senior dogs. Unfortunately, we are moving and now we are leaving with 3 15 years old dogs thanks to the excellent care.The whole staff at this clinic is great! Dr. Brittany is great too. Hillary in the front of the office is always so friendly and attentive. We will miss this place.

We have a 2nd home in Silverthorne and were there this week. Our 12 year old dog Trooper collapsed and was having trouble breathing yesterday after hiking with us in the morning. I found Silverthorne Vet Hospital online, and the receptionist was so kind and helped me calm down, and told me to come right in. I was met at the door by a nurse who took Trooper immediately and started an evaluation. Within 15 minutes Dr. Justin met with me and explained what he had found so far. He ran more tests to rule out dangerous scenarios and treated him with care and efficiency. He even did a follow-up call today to see how Trooper was doing. Dr. Justin and the staff were calm and thorough, and we were so thankful for their immediate response and for such good care. If we lived in Silverthorne, this would be our vet! We highly recommend this veterinary practice!

Dr. Milizio and his team went above and beyond when my dog needed emergency life-saving surgery. They squeezed us into the schedule last minute and monitored my dog closely, saving him more than once during his stay at the hospital. They were compassionate and intentional with his care, and even after he was discharged, called to check on his recovery often. I was so impressed by their professionalism as well as the personal touch they brought to our situation. We are forever grateful for them!

Hands down the best Vet in the area. They were kind, compassionate, understanding and patient! My Sophie dog is a bit timid around new people, but with treats and calm voices they made her very comfortable throughout her entire visit...even when she was in the back having her nails trimmed without me! Going to my old vet in AZ was something I dreaded, because it would cost me a fortune and they didn't actually care about my dog...but here it couldn't be more opposite! They fully detailed out their recommendations, but never pressured me into making a decision they knew I had time to make. I'm relocating to the Denver area but would honestly drive back into the mountains to come see Dr. Milizio & Manager Zuber! They were fantastic, the whole practice is! Thank you SO much! Dr. Justin is the best vet we have ever taken our dogs to. First off - he knew about Shar Pei's and their medical crazy! He really listened to what we were saying when it came to our Shar-Pei. He took our past experiences in to account when he was addressing a current issue. He gave us options and didn't forrce us in to any treatments or medications we weren't comfortable with. We chose not to give our Shar Pei allergy shots throughout the winter and they were okay with that because it was what we, as the pet parent, wanted to do.He and his staff are very friendly and compassionate. They were respectful of our other dog who is nervous around new people and in enclosed spaces. They would ignore her and focus only on Rumpy, which is amazing and much appreciated.They are awesome and I recommend them to everyone that has a pet in Summit County.

While on vacation from out of state, we had to visit as an emergency for our dog who had a cancer diagnosis prior to our trip. We met with Dr Justin M. and his team (Alex and Jordan) about what we knew was inevitable. I primarily only write positive reviews on Google, but because my experience at Silverthorne Veterinary Hospital was so painful, I am compelled to write about it.It has been almost a year to the date since my ordeal and it has taken me that long to be able to write this review. My precious 9-month-old kitten Mowgli suddenly stopped eating and I had to take him to the Silverthorne vet clinic as they were the on-call office that day. In my opinion, the veterinarian I saw was knowledgeable and accurate about my kitten's condition which he believed to be a fatal congenital liver defect. I was shocked because Mowgli had just been neutered at my regular vet and deemed to be in good health. I was completely heartbroken. Mowgli had rapid deterioration and I had to make the gut-wrenching decision to put my kitten to sleep the next day.Unfortunately, Mowgli and I received ZERO compassion and instead I received a "lecture" about having a purebred Persian and that quote "we don't see these things in shelter cats."No one at that clinic knows me, or maybe they would have known that I have a dog who came from the Shiba Rescue in Loveland and another Persian who was rescued from the markets in Kuwait and left to die on the streets. They don't know that I had recently lost my 15-year-old Persian during an extremely difficult time in my life and how devastating his loss was for me and that I just wanted another Persian like him when the time was right. They don't know that I spent months searching for a kitten (yes, even at shelters), but nothing felt right until I found Mowgli. They don't know that I spent months researching and found an extremely reputable breeder who has placed hundreds of healthy Persians with families all over the country and that I flew during Covid to pick my Mowgli up from that breeder in Missouri. They don't know that Mowgli was my SAVIOR during the lonely Covid shut down and how bright he made my days away from adult children in Texas, alone in my house in Breckenridge.They don't know that Mowgli's breeder cried with me on the phone, that she was as upset and shocked as I was and has honored her healthy kitten guarantee.Not only was the veterinarian completely devoid of compassion, but so was the technician who worked with me and the entire staff. I don't know if the staff's attitude was influenced by their employer. During what was a very dark time for me, the veterinarian and staff chose with their words and mannerisms to shame me rather than show kindness or compassion. I have wondered many times if they treat owners of purebred dogs purchased from breeders this way, or is it only owners of purebred cats. Yes, shelter animals are wonderful and yes I know in Summit County we are encouraged to adopt instead of shop. I HAVE adopted and I have also shopped. I did not know the latter made me a bad person who does not deserve kindness. My kitten certainly did not ask to be born to a breeder and did not deserve anything but love. Silverthorne Veterinary Hospital showed us nothing but indigence. :(

I started using Dr. Justin in 2014? when he was working in Denver. He was great then! When I moved to the mountains and realized he had his new practice I knew exactly where to take my pup. My Shiba Copper was an absolute handful and Dr. Justin always did so well with him. (Thanks Justin!) Fast forward many years and he’s seen our newest Shiba and lab Lilah. We feel so comfortable and trust Dr. Justin and his team whole heartedly. Thanks for all of your loving care during Coppers life and after!

Silverthorne Animal Hospital saved my dog’s life and they did it with kindness, compassion and excellent care and communication. Our dog Zeke had a freak accident while on a hike in the forest that was very serious and potentially life threatening. It happened at around 2pm on a Monday and when I called another veterinary hospital in Dillon they told me that it was “too late in the day” for them to treat my dog for this emergency, despite my telling them that it was life threatening. When I called Silverthorne Animal Hospital they responded with a willingness to treat him immediately. They worked into the evening providing emergency surgery that saved him. Everyone there was so kind and helpful and I knew that Zeke was in excellent hands. Thank you especially to Dr Justin who did the surgery and his assistant Alli who provided follow up communication with me about Zeke’s care. You are amazing providers and were Zeke’s angels that night. Thank you - we are so very grateful!

Dr Milizio and CVT Alex provide the very best Veterinary care we have ever received (and we have been to many different Veterinarians over the years from small town to University teaching and emergency care), they care for our animals with much compassion and expertise. In my 23 years of Vet care in Summit and Eagle counties, there was never a DVM that ever came close to the high quality care given by Dr. Milizio. Like other reviewers have said, don't bother going anywhere else!

We needed a follow-up bloodwork appointment while on vacation out-of-state following our pup's first chemo appointment. From the time I called to ask if they would accommodate our needs since we were traveling from Wisconsin, the entire staff treated us with patience, compassion, and genuine care. Corey helped us determine an out-of-state visit was possible, Ali helped with ensuring they received our records and then also met with us for our actual appointment. Dr. Justin did a great job explaining everything and providing insight to Berkeley's condition and results. I could not have asked for a better experience from start to finish, I am so very grateful to everyone we interacted with. Highly recommend no matter what your needs are - you will be treated with great care!

It was at night and after hours and my dog was violently dry heaving and retching. After calling several other "24 hour" area vet clinics with no answer, Silverthorne Vet hospital picked up right away, listened to the symptoms and had me rush the dog in. They saved my dog's life. The service was extraordinary and the doctor/tech were extremely informative and confident and walked me through each step. The cost was not extreme either. Highly recommend.

This place is amazing! We were in quite a bind when our dog and another dog got entangled in a freak accident. We do not live in the area and this would be an emergency situation. The receptionist was kind and compassionate to our dire situation. Luckily, we were able to get there and Boomer was seen right away. He did require a minor surgery, but the doctor and her staff were so accommodating to our sweet pup. We are forever grateful to this clinic and are so thankful they helped Boomer out in our time of need. They were very transparent about the cost of the procedure and what we needed to do toMake sure Boomer would be okay. I would not hesitate to call them again for any of our veterinary needs.

I can’t thank this practice enough. Our 8 week old puppy was very lethargic and started having muzzle and eye swelling shortly after getting home. We had no idea what was going on and thought it was an infection or bite. Turns out she had a super rare case of puppy strangles and they diagnosed her the second day of symptoms. Thanks to Doctor Laura and Doctor Justin, Brandy got the meds she needed to get on a quicker path to recovery. Although it is going to take a while before she is 100%, we now know how worse off she could’ve been if Dr Laura and the team did not immediately identify her symptoms as this rare form of dog cellulitis. A misdiagnosis of this rare disease could have greatly impacted the puppy’s physical body and health. Thank you for helping Brandy enjoy her new life with us!

I live 30-45 minutes away and will gladly make the drive so Dr. Justin can be my pets vet! Staff is very friendly and nice! Dr. Justin is very knowledgeable, understanding and actually cares! My dog swallowed a sock and instead of saying he didn't know what was wrong and sending us out the door he didn't let us leave until he figured out what the issue was. Stayed late to perform emergency surgery and kept me updated throughout the night and even the next day when I went to pick her up! I will definitely be coming back! Thank you guys so much for being such an amazing team!! If Google gave me 100 stars I would click all of them! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
