What a great fly shop! The owners are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about fishing and rivers, taking time to answer questions and explain river conditions. The retail shop is fantastic, I can always find unique gifts every time I go and they also have a great fly selection. And I highly recommend you have Colin take you on a guided trip! Will keep going back again and again. Give some love to this locally owned shop in Salida next time you’re in town!

We have visited the Next Eddy multiple times on our visits to Salida. Love the store and the staff. We got to do some family fly fishing over the holiday weekend. The owners were extremely helpful with gear and fly recommendations, as well as tips on great spots to fish. Next time we will be booking their guided trip! The ATV/Razor experience sounds awesome. The Next Eddy is truly the best Fly Fishing shop in Salida. Their shop is very well stocked and everyone is so helpful. I have fished with them a couple of times and it was awesome. If you want the Colorado Fly Fishing experience I would highly recommend them.

Great fly fishing shop right in downtown Salida, CO with excellent guides. Went fishing in the winter and caught several fish and the biggest rainbow I’ve ever caught. They also do cool events like fly tying nights. Highly recommend.

If you're looking for great fly fishing experience in Salida, look no further than The Next Eddy. My wife and I booked a guided tour with Sam and it was nothing short of spectacular. The Arkansas River is raging so it made for some tough conditions to fish, however Sam was soo patient with us and navigated multiple spots for us to maximize our experience. Sam is also a wealth of knowledge around fishing and all things Salida. This review doesn't even begin to showcase how great Sam and the entire Next Eddy team are. My wife and I will definitely be back fly fishing with them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a great time!

I highly recommend The Next Eddy for booking guides. I booked a 1/2 day trip for my family. My wife and two teenagers had zero fly fishing experience and they had a great time all three caught fish. Colin and Liam were great instructors and very positive. We went to a nice easily wadable place with plenty of room casting. All three want to go again!

Had a really good experience here today. Dropped in and asked for some advice on where to fish the Arkansas and the guy behind the counter was extremely helpful and insightful. I bought some flies and Tippit. The store has high quality gear and a really good staff.

Did a 1/2 day fly fishing trip down the Arkansas River with our guide, Sam. The entire process from booking to the actual trip was a breeze. Sam was an incredible guide, and a great guy to spend the day on the river with. We also scored and had the best day of trout fishing of my life. This is a trip I will never forget. My wife Susan and I had a fantastic 1/2 day guided wade on the Ark with The Next Eddy and our guide Tanner. Sarah and the office team were great to work with, and the clear communication continued with Tanner. He listed to our questions and was a wealth of knowledge on all things fly fishing. His roll casting instruction and knowledge of the river biology and fish behavior answered our questions, which will make us much better anglers. Thanks so much! Had a morning float last week with my buddy. Colin was our guide and was absolutely amazing. He knows the river, is an excellent oarsman and a pleasure to be around. Most importantly, he put us where the fish were and then gave us the scoop where to go for the afternoon. The shop is stocked well with everything you need to be successful on the river. An excellent experience, will go back again...thank you Colin!

this shop is amazing. it is certainly one of my favorite fly shops in the country. the staff is super helpful and friendly, they have excellent flies for the nearby rivers, and they share information freely. it is really a wonderful shop.

I went in clueless asking the dumbest questions. The owner spent nearly an hour explaining everything to me. With this, he didn't push the most expensive option. Instead, he found an option that was high quality without blowing it out of proportion. By far the best shop I have been in.

Not POC friendly!!! Stopped in here this weekend to look for some terrestrial flies and was completely ignored by the young woman behind the counter...We get that there is a certain inherent blanch racism to CO but pay attention Salida, this is not good for your business!

Was referred to the shop by our son. So glad he did! Erin and Colin were incredible - took the time to answer every little question i had. We booked a half day trip to a private pond in order to introduce our 7 yr old granddaughter to flyfishing. Tanner was our guide and was perfect for our excursion. He focused on our gd and by the end of our 4 hours she could roll cast with the best of them and even caught and landed a 16” and 20” rainbow. Needless to say - she’s hooked!! Highly recommend this shop for the whole experience. Oh - and i love that they carry some ‘off’ brand fishing accessories. I love my Pendleton bag and fanny pack!!

I popped into the store while shopping in Salida. We are moving to Buena Vista soon and I want to get into fly fishing. I asked some questions, but the guy there acted as if I was a major distraction for him. I tried to get some information about a guided trip for fishing/teaching for me and my adult son, but again he had little interest. I gave up and left. I guess he doesn’t need the business that bad. I’ll see what Buena Vista has in the way of guides.

We stopped to rent waders for my first time wade fishing. Sarah and Collin were very knowledgeable about the local water and gear. They gave us some suggestions on where to go and we had a successful day fishing. The store had a good selection of fly fishing gear and also some really cute clothes, gifts, and hats. It's my new go-to place in Salida!
