Delicious vegan gelato and ice cream options here! There were 5 to choose from when we went in addition to the many dairy ice creams. The owner is absolutely delightful and so proud and caring about his store, family and handmade products. I got the vegan Orange Grand Marnier gelato and it was a flavor explosion. Very creamy. Great spot all around with a sweet little thrift store area in the back!

Excellent ice cream. Very nice employee/owner. Very sweet to our young daughter who was being a spoiled brat. But she loved the ice cream and the waffle cones very delicious. I had the cookie dough!

The ice cream at Here's the Scoop is the most amazing ice cream we've ever had! We are from out of town, but will be back every chance we get. I had the Wild Blueberry and it's unreal.

Don’t be fooled by the antiquated ambiance. Sure, it doesn’t have Lord Huron on in the background, corrugated metal accents, or airplants scattered about, but the ice cream is excellent. The fruit ice creams are clearly made with real fruit whilst the more decadent options are delightful.I am surprised by the existing reviews- in my mind this is a clear 5 star establishment, 4.8 at the lowest. To me it is all about product. And Here’s the Scoop delivers.

Three of us Mom's took our 9 kids to Salida to swim. When that fell through, we looked up ice cream places. This was the only one open on a late Sunday afternoon. The owner was so kind, friendly and helpful. We chatted with him the whole time. He told us how makes the ice cream so creamy smooth. It was delicious homemade ice cream! We will definitely be back next time we're coming through! Thank you for your hospitality!

This place is fabulous. My family and I found this gem a few months ago when we were trying to find a good milk shake under $9. You know one that was worthy of a price tag that steep maybe made with HOMEMADE ice cream. Well I'm happy to say we found it! For less then $6. The staff are always nice and the ice cream is to die for. Try a coffee toffee shake, you won't be disappointed. Or my kids favorite Blue 🌙 plenty of flavors to choose from and always rotating. A must stop if you're ever in Salida.

My husband and i decided to have a little roadtrip and we went to Salida. Ive visited this ice cream place before and i had a great experience, a lady gave me samples and they were pretty good, so we decided to come back last saturday. I thought i would have the same experience again. But no i didnt. When we went inside we were never greeted by the old man. I brushed it off its okay because he was serving someone. When he was done he didnt say anything to me nothing at all but then he greeted the girls that just came in, mind you im asian i have brown skin and they were white. He was so happy to talk them and he completely ignored me even though i was there first. He offered to give them samples and all and he pretended i did not exist even though he saw me there looking. So i backed off and told my husband to just leave because i cannot stand another minute to be disrespected like that. I would give zero star but i guess one star will suffice. People would say dont make it about race. Just because you never experience it doesnt mean other people havent.

First time here. We just ordered two milk shakes and I have to say they were one of the best milk shakes we have ever had. I mean absolutely creamy. Real milk and ice cream. Hands down one of the best. We plan on going back to try it again!

Take a step back in time. Wonderful place classic ice cream flavors. This is what ice cream stores used to look like in year gone past. Always a treat to stop in and get a cone. Store has real character and whomever gives it a bad review is just a crusty impatient person who doesnt like puppies and kittens.

I really, really, really wanted to try this place. Google said it opened at noon, which was a little late anyway, as I had to hit the road. But I wanted to try the ice cream here, so my friend and I decided to kill some time browsing in stores before we had farewell ice cream. After spending some time in other stores, my friend went to sit and wait outside Here's the Scoop while I ran over to another store to pick up one thing. When I got back to my friend, he pointed to a handmade sign hanging on Here's the Scoop's door saying they opened at 1pm. Major disappointment. I couldn't wait another hour .We ended up getting ice cream somewhere else.

Great scoop of ice cream. Super friendly staff. We were 8 ppl and they were patient with tasters. You can get a free solo cup of water, and a nice seating area outside.

Great ice-cream. The checkout was the only thing that was weird. We had 5 things. Told the cashier what we had. She asked us about 10 times what we ordered. After that, she keeps saying "does that sound right?" We had the ice-cream right in front of her. Maybe just a off day. I'll still review 4/5.

best ice cream around, and the service, the old fashioned style - or maybe it's the black and white floor tiles that bring some 50's fashion. Anyhow, go get an ice cream you will enjoy. Kid sizes cones available.

I'm not sure what happened but the ice cream was not as rich and creamy as it used to be last summer. In fact it had a bit of a bit of a chemical taste. Maybe it's because it's the middle of October and we got the dregs of the vacation season.

Me and my wife visited Salida from out of town. 7/7/2018. We stopped at this ice cream shop thinking it would be good but it wasn't. the chocolate ice cream tasted like frozen yogurt! Very disappointing! Over priced for what you get. We won't be going back!

Just amazing. Service is outstanding, all of the flavors are excellent, and prices are reasonable. Peach and Banana Walnut were delicious. Can't wait to come back.
