These guys are more like covert scam artist than a thrift store. I bought 1 kids shirt from there today that was from Walmart with a $1 clearance tag still on it. They charged $2.17 for it. I won't be shopping here again. I'll just grab things at Walmart when they are $1 clearance items

I have been going to this thrift store for at least 15 years. Current management has lost site of the community and has once again turned the store into a high priced hoarding house that turns down donations from lack of storage room because they are not turning over their inventory, but instead holding out for months to sell an item for a few dollars more instead of making multiple dollars on multiple items by turning over volume. Colored tags with a weekly sales rate for the color makes shopping more interesting and turns more items for this community non profit than playing high ransom games for donated articles. Also have personally seen the managment claim donations for themselves before they even hit the sales floor at prices of way less than they were asking for similar items on the floor. Does not seem to being run ethically, and their governing board soon forgets their mission by listening to high apple pie in the sky promises and greed rather than the actual reality of what the function of this charity actually is! If you like seeing high prices and the same stuff week after week , this place is for you!

Not enough flat screens TVs and not a lot of trans in lgbtq plus place of stuff. Too much Jesus music. Great grandpa Willie got bit by a child browsing the lamps. And their prices are really high and they don't serve good soup and the crackers are stale

My husband and I found this gem of a thrift store a few months ago and have driven the hour and a half drive back several times because we have found numerous great things every visit at true thrift prices and all the staff has always been friendly. I do understand the profits go back to the community but today's visit really changed what I had considered a five star thrift store. We were both really surprised how much the pricing on things had really gone up. Yes they still have the sale colors but our little gem of a "thrift store" became just like so many other thrift stores..... That's sad!!!

It has been worth the hour and a half drive and always made for a fruitful excursion, but over the last two weeks, prices have risen to the point on some items that we will have to rethink traveling there. I know that they have a mission and the proceeds go to a great cause, but there's no fun in finding treasures and then feeling like your being taken advantage of by the high price they are suddenly asking. After all, they pay nothing for the items and there was a steady flow of items arriving while I was there. I'm also sure that many people shop there because they NEED to shop there and higher prices is not helping them at all. I heard other customers complaining of the sudden price jumps as well. I expect higher prices at some resale shops, but not at a thrift store. Canon City is on our driving loop when we visit Salida and has a great reasonable thrift store and sadly, even their Goodwill provided better finds at better prices this trip. If things don't change, we will just make Canon City our destination for our treasure hunting trips. I will say that the staff has always been very friendly and the selection of stuff is some of the best around. That's what makes this review so difficult šŸ˜ž

i could go on and on about how amazing this place is, but i’ll try to keep it short. <31. it is very clean and organized- i think that this might have been the cleanest ā€œrealā€ thrift shop i have been in. (by that i mean not consignment or vintage). the racks are organized very well in neat lines, the floors were very clean, and the racks upstairs were organized by color, which is something that i personally love. you can really tell that the owners take amazing care of their store and prioritize cleanliness. another thing i feel i should note is that i didn’t notice any major stains or rips in any of the clothing.2. friendly staff- the gentleman that rung out my purchases was the SWEETEST. he was helpful to the customers, and he would check the prices and tell them to me (plus any discounts!!) again, probably the best experience i’ve had at a thrift store.3. prices- prices are something where preferences varies from person to person, but i thought that the prices here were great. i walked out of the store with five things and spent less than twenty dollars.4. selection- the selection here was really great. seriously. i found tons of things that i loved throughout the whole store. plus, they have both home goods and clothing, so it should fit most anything you would want to come to a thrift store for! they had CDs, records, and books too. and as for the clothes, there were things that i, (a teenager) liked and things that i think would appeal to all other generations too. vintage items and newer. love it.another thing i should mention is that any of the tips go to local charities, which is always so awesome to hear.seriously, i had a really great experience here and will definitely visit again whenever i come back to salida. i truly loved everything about it.

I am very disappointed in this store. I was there last year and it was clean and organized but now it smells and it's so cluttered that I cannot find anything. I also cannot get around with my walker because of the clutter. Also the prices are a o high ant the cloths I can by cheaper at Walmart. Also if there are any treasures they are ti difficult to stay there for hours and go thru everything. Very very disappointing store to be a non profit store

I love this place. And the new owner has done serious work on organizing and cleaning it. I get almost everything here. Books, housewares, outdoor gear.

This place was my favorite place in salida when I lived there. The owners are friendly and helpful, they put their efforts into the community and they really care.I love the different colored tags they have for everything and the little sales they run. When I was in a rough spot I was able to get my cats food, look for local jobs, get blankets, jackets- the owner even helped us by randomly paying for our items. The best part of Salida BY FAR!

This thrift store is very large. They have a little of everything. Anytime I am in Salida I stop in. It is clean and well organized. Great selection of furniture on our last visit. Priced fairly to a little high.

Caring & Sharing has performed a very good restoration of the building. I would say the merchandise is on a par with Goodwill and ARC if not better. The folks at the donation dock (it's in the alley) are courteous and helpful.

Great place for resources if you're in a rough spot. Shawn is the guy to talk to there, and he is awesome! They can help with vouchers for clothing, supplies, gas and motel rooms for qualified individuals, amongst several other benefits. For the needy only, please.

Quite possibly THE best "thrift shop" in the world ... amazing and always helpful staff, not to mention the best prices on just about anything you need, want or can imagine ... I highly recommend Caring & Sharing, and thank you to C&S for all that you do for the community! I ā¤ļø Salida

Stopped to donate 3 bags. Pulled up and just then the dude pulled out a sign that said, come back tomorrow. Asked him to take my donation, he said "lady I'm closed, come back tomorrow ". Wow! No, I won't be coming back tomorrow. Will find another place to donate.

Senior programs, respite care, free groceries - this is why I only donate here! They are a lifeline in our community.

In my opinoin what this place has turned into / use to be was to help the community and not try to profit on what ppl drop off, for free! To give to ppl that has the need for it . Granted the prices are cheap there. But to the morals of what Care and Share use to be are long gone dead . The jewelry is mostly fake besides the couple items they have .

There is always something interesting to check out here. Their assortment is great for a resale store. Great deals on clothes. I always stop when I have time.

Love the selection but the prices have gotten too high for most items. $20 for a set of used sheets….really?

A bit of a surprise for such a small town to have such a wonderful thrift shop. It is amazing the things that turn up in this shop, truly amazing.

I was at Caring and Sharing about a month ago and one of the male workers came outside after a mentally handicapped guy..the male worker told that guy that "if he ever catches him stealing again he would kick his f@$ing ass"...it was clear that the customer was severely mentally handicapped..I was saddened to see this.
