Booked in advance for memorial weekend, they just canceled my reservation because they didn’t have the canvas tent back for repairs asked for a different site or something else and lady said no owner is having other issues and don’t know when they will open. That weekend is not a weekend you can just book later it has to be booked way in advanced and now we are stuck with ruined plansThanks 😡

Dog park has nice grass and a poop shovel. Campground is well kept. Staff is friendly. Sites are tight and on top of each other (no privacy, make friends with your neighbors!). Short drive to some great hikes, lake and Bishops Castle (100% must do). We discovered a nice loop hike up the hill. Not very well marked, but a fun little adventure. Small store with some basic stuff and souvenirs.Nearby activities: Bishops Castle

Beautiful little campground, nestled in the mountains. Close to a lot of attractions, trails, fishing and every day conveniences. The owner and staff are absolutely amazing! This little gem nestled in the mountains just 2 miles from San Isabel lake, is a must visit. We will definitely be making future trips to this campground.

We booked Aspen Acres because we couldn't find availability anywhere else and we are so incredibly glad we did!!!This little nugget of nirvana is nestled in some of the most beautiful scenery!!! The lake is close by and the mountains were as magical as Bishop's Castle. The service was awesome! The staff was so sweet to our little pup and very helpful! The bathhouse was incredibly clean even though we had a bathroom in our camper, we used the bathhouse once in a while. You know how it is in a camper, right? The views around the campground were gorgeous! Deer came into camp and grazed. The hummingbird feeders had many little jewels zipping around and even did fly-bys as we sat in the swing and watched them. The chipmunks were scampering about and all that was missing was a bear or an elk to meander through to make it a historical moment for us!The dog park was kept clean and tidy. People with dogs cleaned up after themselves which is something you don't see often. The establishment is incredibly pet friendly! We had an amazing stay for the 6 nights and while we didn't plan on being disconnected from the world, it was nice to reconnect with nature and each other. We hiked, did some kayaking at the lake, went to Bishop's Castle and made some beautiful memories! We stayed in spot 45 last week and met some amazing people in the campground. While we did not utilize the recreation room, we found the gift shop/store to be intriguing and brought some goodies back with us.We've decided that this would be an annual trip as long as Aspen Acres is in business! Next year, we're bringing our grandson!

The new owners of Aspen Acres went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. My husband works remote and even when the office was closed, they made sure to come and unlock the rec room for us every morning so he could work. They gave us space and privacy but also checked in occasionally to chat and offer us fresh coffee, popcorn, and to make sure we were comfortable. They are the kindest people and we were sad to say goodbye to them. They took special care to make our toddler feel welcome and always took time to say good morning and chat with him. The campground itself is beautiful in the Fall, with aspens changing color throughout the grounds, it felt really magical! The facilities are also very clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again! It felt like we were home! Again, I want to stress how incredibly amazing the new management is here. We've been on the road for 3 months now and the folks here at Aspen Acres have definitely set a new bar- they are absolutely wonderful.

I stayed here Sun-Wed and it was great! It seemed like it was a bit busier/crowded on the weekends. Since I was here during the week it was extremely quiet and peaceful. The showers + bathrooms were cleaned everyday plus the water quality was amazing! I didn’t interact with the staff too much. When I did they were helpful & really nice. The site was only allowing propane fires due to wildfire risk; and provided propane fire pits to rent $25/night. I rented one and had no problems. I would stay here again!

Aspen Acres has become a great place for our family to go for a very relaxing time. The spots are large, the store is adequate and the grounds are fantastic. The owner and his hard working family are super nice.Nearby activities: There is plenty to do nearby

Very impressed by this campground! Things I liked: the cleanliness and maintenance of the common areas; the recreation room with comfy seating, lots of games, and a full kitchen setup; and dozens of DVDs available for checkout. The owner and his team manage the facility in a professional and friendly manner. He even helped me with an issue on my RV!Lake Isabel is about 2 miles down the road. It is a beautiful lake, very clean and peaceful. There are lots of trailheads close by, and Bishops Castle (a must see!) is about 5 miles down the road.I met many fellow campers who were return customers, for good reason - it's a great place! Thanks for the hospitality!

My family of 6 stayed for Thanksgiving. It was beautiful! Jennifer has been so helpful and stayed in great communication with us before and during our trip. We are already planning our return trip. Everything was clean. The cabin was warm and cozy. The grounds are kept really nice and neat. Thank you Aspen Acres Campground for an amazing holiday!!

Beautiful campground, clean and well maintained. We discovered an issue with our RV shortly after we arrived. The lady at the office went out of her way to assist us in finding a mobile machanic in this remote location. Her willingness to help in any way she could over the course of 3 days turned, what otherwise would have been a very frustrating time for us, into an enjoyable stay. We will definitely be back!

Worst cabin rental trip EVER! Worst hospitality management EVER! They lack people skills and customer service skills. The campground lacks upkept ammenities. The owner was riding around on an ATV at almost 11 pm. It was so loud it woke us up. We'd just fallen asleep. USE A CAR OR A GOLF CART! So much for quiet time at 10 pm.The cabin was so unlevel we woke up with headaches. The front corner support was falling out.I really wish I would have listened to the previous reviews instead of the owner's rebuttals. We learned that the employees he backs are his daughters. Obviously they come before bad customer service. The plumbing in the men's restroom was STILL messed up. There was sewer coming up on the floor. The men in the campground were using the women's restroom to avoid the grossness of the men's room. The sewer was also coming out of the septic system out front. It smelled HORRIBLE! We will all be reporting them to the county. We'd rented all of the cabins and not one of the porch lights worked. My mom fell down the steps because she didn't see that she was going to miss a step. The campground just hadn't changed the blown bulbs. The parking arrangements for the cabins is a MESS!! Being handicapped this place creates HUGE challenges! I will be writing a letter to the ADA.The rec room was SO hot that it literally melted our cheese trays and the wedding cake before the reception even started. They said there was no air conditioning. This is NOT a good place for a venue! The owner ripped my sister and her fiance off! They said we could use the rec room due to the rain. One hour before the wedding he came in and said it looked like a $5,000 dollar venue and charged her an extra $1,000. Her credit card was declined so she scrambled to borrow money from friends. They'd already spent thousands to bring in the wedding party and family and friends. At the last minute, due to my decorations, he wanted more money. He gave her no choice. We couldn't move the reception at that point in time. He ruined my sister's day. This family does not have any business being in the hospitality industry.

Our family hadn't been camping in over 7+ years, so this was a great re-entry into tent camping, given that there is a really nice shower/bathroom and lodge complete with ping pong, along with free popcorn and coffee (BYOCup) at the general store. All the RVs and tent visitors respected the quiet hours and the campground was spotless. Very helpful and friendly staff - we were arriving after they closed, but they waited for us to show and even kept a rental propane firepit aside for us. The one minor complaint was that our tent site in site #2 was at a slight angle, but we still managed to get our tent set up fine. Loved how the tent sites are nestled in a grove of aspen - it was so pretty to wake up and see the tall aspen against the blue sky through the roof of our tent. The final icing on the cake of how great the staff is was when we called after having checked out on a Sunday to ask whether they'd found a disposable camera we'd left, and they had it at the front desk waiting for us - they also mailed it back to us right away. We so appreciated their kindness and going above and beyond! We will be back for sure - but this time, we will be trying out a cabin!

We love this campground. Very clean facilities. The owners and staff are all very friendly and hospitable. It’s a beautiful place to spend a couple of nights and escape from the city. Very dog friendly as everyone follows the rules and keeps their pets leashed. We have camped here four times over the past couple of summers and plan on staying there more in the future.

We had a great time staying in the Outfitter tents while the in-laws enjoyed staying in cabin 8. We spent most of our time at the cabin with them as it was a much more secluded and shaded area. The Outfitter Tents were great! Lots of space inside and it was nice to have a light and water at the site was a nice bonus. There is also a flushing toilet for the 4 OT’s and the tent site in this area of the campground. The kids enjoyed playing in the big grassy areas and going on adventures in the trees. Day trips to Bishop Castle and Lake Isabel are close and fun.

I called the office to ask if they offer RV water fill up. Staying at a camp site near by. Common at other privately owned sites to offer to fill up your RV with water or even charge to use the dump station. First call the office girl could not say if they did or didn't but offered to call back with an answer to that question. After a second call to ask the same question after a few hours, got a call back and was told that "he"( the owner) would charge $1 a gallon to fill. Great. Arrived at the campground only to be told "she"( the owner) said they would not fill. "Had to be staying at their camp." Made a trip with no water in the tank thinking I could fill as a paying customer when I arrived, fill and go on to my camp site. Had to scramble to find water when I could have filled my tank before leaving. Put a damper on our trip needlessly. Is"she" the owner or "he"? The hospitality was nonexistent. The locals who came to my rescue did not speak highly of the ownership of this camp site. Disappointing to say the least. I am Southern Colorado native and the people working that camp site as well as San Isabel lake area are not Coloradoans and it shows with the poor attitude I continue to experience from these out of staters.

We recently stayed at beautiful Aspen Acres Campground. There are so many good things I could say about our stay (beautiful views, clean bathrooms, great little cabin) but the thing I want to say the loudest is that the host gentleman was the bomb! Somehow I missed the part about there being a fire ban and did not plan for not being able to grill on a charcoal fire. The host gave us his personal propane grill to use for the 4 days we were there. We also saw him offer other guests items they were in need of. Over and beyond hospitality would be the words to describe the attitude at Aspen Acres Campground.Side note: hiking is awesome there, Lake Isabel is marvelous and Bishop Castle is spectacular!!

I was ready to give this campground a really good review until the last couple days we stayed there. Several of us came in from various cities in Colorado for 3 nights/days of camping. Pro's: Easy to get to. Beautiful green surroundings and very nice workers (except for 3rd night). Nice dog park. For the most part it looked like people picked up after their dogs. Some campers did not have showers and restrooms in their trailers. The campground showers and bathroom were out of order the 2nd and 3rd days we were there. The office/gathering room did have a restroom available as long as they were open. The desk person decided the 3rd night it wasn't busy enough so she closed early, before 7pm. The hours are posted to be open until 7pm. Folks were walking down to use the restrooms. Nope. Closed! Knowing the facilities were out of order a portable potty should have been brought in. No playground for kids. Cell service is pretty much non existent unless you are right by the office building. I have T-Mobile and got excellent connection at the building.

We were there October 19th and there was only one other guest there that we saw. Manager was very friendly and helpful. Rec center had several games and lots of books. Night sky was very dark- first time I've seen the Milkyway in many, many years. Bishops Castle is just down the road a few miles-a must see!

Aspen Acres Campground was amazing. We decided to stay about an hour away from Cañon City to enjoy the mountains. We had no issues whatsoever and any questions we had the staff was available to answer them all. The place was quite and relaxing and the noise from us and othe guests was was part of the camping experience. Props to our neighbor in spot 41, she said we were her best neighbors she has had in a long time. Thank you neighbor. We will be back soon4 star was my choice for this trip but I'm sure our next visit will be our 5 🌟

We stayed at Aspen Acres in June of 2022, and thought the campground looked very nice. In the morning after our first night we stayed there my family drove into town for some supplies. When we returned from town and went into our fifth wheel we found that our large back window had been broken out by the lawn crew operating weed eaters between the rv sites. I immediately went to the office and notified the staff. The owner Doug Pollock happened to be in at the time and he went with me to check out the damage. I wasn’t upset because I know things happen and Doug said he would comp our stay as well as cover the cost of replacing the window. He and his employees helped us get the glass cleaned up and cover the opening with plastic to get us home. The window was replaced and Doug asked that I email him the invoice for the repair. As of September 12th, 2022, the bill has not been paid. I have left countless voice mails on Doug’s cell phone with no attempt on his part to call me back. I have also left messages with his daughters and other staff at the campground office and have been told that they will have Doug get in touch with me, which he hasn’t.I have a large family that all own rv’s and like to travel thoughout Colorado and sadly I have advised them to steer clear of Aspen Acres Campground due to this interaction and their inability to follow through.

5 stars. I really enjoyed my stay at Aspen Acres. Doug and Paul were excellent hosts; flexible and accommodating especially with a winter snow storm and 7 degree temps on the horizon; making it easy to shift from tent camping to heated cabin. Well maintained across the board; very clean shower house. Interested and accommodating to the sportsman's needs. Thanks so much. I hope to return soon. Todd Woods

Aspen Acres is a great location for beautiful hiking, fishing, and site seeing. The grounds are kept very clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. If you stay at the cabins located at the top, it is a bit of a walk to the restroom/showers so don't wait until the last minute lol.

When I arrived at Aspen Acres campground I was thrilled. The campsite was lovely and they have an awesome large recreation room with a pool table, ping pong, foosball, fireplace, kitchen and restroom. The next morning the restroom and shower facilities were closed due to a sewer problem. That was understandable. Because the recreation room closed at 8:00, PM, we had to walk a long distance to an outhouse like facility which did have a flush toilet, but no sink. That evening I (August 18) some friends and I arrived at the Office/recreation area at 6:15 looking forward to another game of pool but the door was locked. Eventually the gal at the desk opened the door but said they had closed it as no one was using it. She said "sorry" but her attitude was hostile. Not only did we not get to play pool, but had to use the unfriendly bathroom .....a long walk and also up hill. Costumer service was not a priority.

Aspen Acres was a great campsite! The staff was very hospitable and welcoming. They catered to our needs when we had to leave our RV there overnight because of mechanical issues. Full hook-ups are great! Close to the lake for fishing. Hiking trails are nice. We definitely will be back!

This was a great location with great staff (new owners May 2020). They keep it all very nice, have level sites, and the staff is available and responsive. While the sites aren't secluded like I would prefer, you don't feel like you are on top of each other. Maybe that is because of the way the sites are built up into the elevation. On that note, I saw a new camper driver back up too far and collapse a corner of their rig into the hillside. Be careful.I'm torn on this next subject: WiFi/VZ data. While I am looking to escape the distractions of normal life, it would have been nice to have connectivity. I think. It is nice that WiFi is available at the front office and they have a nice porch you can hang out on. The service seems to reach into the first 1/3 of the sites but unavailable further up the hill. This made it difficult to research the area, activities, weather and trails so I will need to find a solution for that going forward.Bottom line, you won't be disappointed at Aspen Acres.

What an awesome campground right up in the Rocky Mountains. It’s easy to get to. Each campsite has beautiful views of trees and mountains. A great place for the family. Staff is very courteous and always wants to help. This is the 28th campground we’ve been at, from the Atlantic to the Pacific definitely one of the best.

I just spent three nights at Aspen Acres with 7 other ladies (each had own campsite or cabin). While our sites were nice and most of the staff we visited with were friendly and helpful, we had a couple issues that are worth mentioning. Four of our party depended on the shower and restroom facilities of the campground while there. Two of the three days of our visit the bathhouse was unavailable due to an unforseen problem they were trying to get fixed (still not fixed when we checked out). We could use the office restroom but only during the hours the office was open (8am-8pm). Otherwise it was a long walk to the only other restroom in the other campground area. It was disappointing that they did not provide porta potties in our area of the campground. On our last night there some of the ladies wanted to play pool and went to the office/game room well before it was due to close. The door was locked and the employee inside said since no one was there she closed the building early and would not re-open it. Poor customer service IMO. I was also surprised there was no playground for the kids since this seems like a family oriented campground. And disappointed fires were not allowed. It's a shame that we never saw the owners of the campground. It would have said much for customer service and goodwill for them to have personally visited the guests and let them know what was going on

We stayed July 3rd and 4th and had a wonderful time. The campgrounds are immaculate, our cabin was clean and Jenny made sure we were taken care of. Views of mountains and Aspens were beautiful. San Isabel is close by for kayaking and fishing and many trails to hike. We will be staying here again!
