I’ve been meaning to write a review for The Lodge at Poncha Springs for a long time, and just hadn’t gotten around to it. But I still want to say, I stayed there for a work trip one night a little while ago and had a great experience! We were received by Dawn (the owner) and her husband and they were both so kind and sweet, and they had cold beers and sparkling water waiting for us! The rooms were very nice and clean, and soo cute (each one had a different theme; moose, bear…). Dawn recommended places around the area and we just had a great time.On top of everything, I left my computer case in my room, and Dawn so very kindly mailed it to me!!I will definitely stay there again whenever I have the chance and 10/10 recommend it! 😊Thanks for everything, Dawn!! 🤗

My only complaint is that I had to leave. What a gem tucked away in the most beautiful place in the Rockies.Fun, relaxed, and comfortable, this lodge is filled with design quirks that spice the place up in a way that I have never seen in a motel. In addition, the location is unbeatable. Any mountain activity we wanted was at our fingertips. Plus an early morning food truck next door for coffee and food before a hike!We will be back many, many times.

This is a great little lodge right between Salida and Buena Vista. The rooms are very cozy with cute and funky touches. Everything was squeaky clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. A great jumping off point for our favorite part of Colorado. We can’t wait to go back!Rooms: Clean and cozy with comfy beds.Nearby activities: This lodge sits at the base of the collegiate peaks which means endless hiking opportunities. Downtown Salida is 10 minutes away and there are 4 hot springs within 30 minutes.

This place is really worth it. Never thought I'd go to Poncha Springs.. but I was very pleased to have stayed here. I can't say enough about this place. Really impressed.Rooms: I'll be honest, I booked the room solely because of location.. we were traveling and due in late. My expectations were not great.. but was I way off. It's a beautiful little place, with stunning views. The room was expansive and incredibly comfortable.Food & drinks: There are many food options nearby.. we walked over to the IronChest Steakhouse for an awesome meal.. then had a great breakfast in the morning at FlaminGo next door.Noteworthy details: The innkeepers were incredibly helpful and welcoming. We would stay here again 10 out of 10 times. Really worth it.

Needed a place to really rest with my wife, we ended up deciding on this cozy little lodge. The owner was a very nice man, very down to earth and easy to talk to. Not even an hour into our stay we had a funny little problem with our bathroom that had locked us out of it, though the owner was very nice and quickly prepared to help us. The problem only took a few minutes for him to fix luckily and we were back to our business. All around this was a really nice and quaint experience, I'd absolutely recommend staying here if you are needing a place to rest near Poncha springs!Rooms: Rooms are rather small, but cozy. Very homie look and feel to them. Comes with an ac that keeps the room pretty cold, a HD 42in TV, there are plenty of outlets, a coffee maker, a small bedside lamp and a bedside table. There is also a small closet with a few hangers in there. The shower is actually a decent size with decent water pressure, there is a few cleaning products for you to use I would recommend getting your own soap and shampoo.Safety: The door was double locked with a regular door lock, and a chain lock. The chain lock survived me mistakenly whipping the door open with the chain lock in.

We had a dreamy summer vacation this year, I’m so happy we stayed atThe Lodge at Poncha Springs! The Lodge was such a welcoming home base for all the fun things we got do in this gorgeous area. From shopping in Salida, riding bikes, running trails, rafting the river on a family friendly float, there was somethingfor all of us to do during the day and the coziest beds to come back to at night. The Lodge rooms were quiet, clean, and spacious. The Nest was the perfect space for all of us to spread out, & to have foods we needed close on hand with a fridge and kitchen space, separate rooms for the kids, there was even a bathtub for the baby!I love the Lodge at Poncha Springs, I plan to come back with my family every year!

This is a fantastic small lodge. The owners are hands down the best I've ever met. She actually checked with all the guests each morning to make sure we slept well. It's absolutely clean and just a really neat place! The best part is you get to meet all your neighbors and they have a small patio where you can take your drink and socialize. I will absolutely be back!

My son and I stayed at the Lodge for 2 nights and had the most awesome stay of our 12 day vacation!!! Dawn and Jimmy are extremely accommodating hosts and are doing a fantastic job as the new owners of the Lodge!!! They are busy remodeling the entire property and I encourage anyone that is planning on staying in the area for any amount of time to book your stay at the Lodge!!! You won't be disappointed!!!(P.S. Don't forget to text me pictures of all the flowers 😊)Rooms: Comfortable and cleanFood & drinks: There is a great little walkup eatery and food truck right next door to the Lodge, both of which offer very good food that is reasonably priced

My husband and I were visiting the area with our 15 year old daughter so we were extremely pleased to find out that we could get a room that had two rooms in it. Our daughter's queen bedroom was separated from ours by a door and she appreciated the privacy (and her own TV). This little motel has the most adorable courtyard with a fire pit which was a nice way to hang out and make s'mores after a day of rafting. And the owners were incredibly kind and accommodating. It's a good location too. We were blocks away from a grocery store, pub and a surprisingly great restaurant across the street (and I'm picky!). And there is a food cart next door with breakfast and coffee. Only a few miles from adorable Salida.

We had an amazing experience with The Lodge. Dawn was extremely helpful from check-in to check out time. she was extremely accommodating to any needs that may have come up from the stay. The "water room" was extremely cozy, clean, and well equipped. The bed was amazing and super clean and comfortable. When we come back to Colorado, we will definitely stay here again. Please don't pass up the opportunity to stay at The Lodge.

The wife and I broke down on Monarch Pass in our RV and ended up hitch hiking (no cell service) down to Poncha Springs and thankfully found this lodge. With all the drama going on, Jimmy and Dawn (proprietors) were a light in the darkness for us. They luckily had an opening and put us up while I made arrangements to get the RV repaired on the pass. Dawn drove me to the local auto part store to get the necessary part. As a AAA member, I called to get a ride back to the RV, but was told they weren't in the ride business. Argh. Jimmy offered to take me up (23mi) and helped me make the repair on the pass. We were back on the road in 45 minutes with Jimmy following me back to the lodge. After spending time with Jimmy and Dawn, I don't think this is out of the ordinary. They are genuinely nice and caring people. It's obvious, while staying at the lodge, they care about the detail of running the lodge AND enjoy interacting with their customers. You're in good hands while staying with them.Rooms: Clean and everything workedNearby activities: All outdoor mountain activitiesNoteworthy details: Rooms where clean and attention to detail

We loved this place. Dawn and Jimmy are just the best hosts! We travel alot and it was such a pleasure to stop here. From the clean rooms to the comfy beds, you just can’t ask for more.It is also all the extra things that they do that make you appreciate staying here…. Who puts ice in a cooler so you can have a cool drink when you return from being out all day??? They do!!! Amazing people! Do yourself a favor and book here!!! We rebooked in September to come see the changing leaves!!!Rooms: Nice decor, clean, air conditioner, extra blankets, soft sheets. This place is an old style but renovated and cared for by the hosts.Nearby activities: Hot springs, beautiful views, short drive to St ElmoWalkability: Fun to walk in the courtyard and sit and relaxFood & drinks: Great steakhouse across the street. Food truck and Bar B Q place next door were excellent!Noteworthy details: Quaint, old fashioned relaxed atmosphere. Quiet. Great social area with a fire pit (bring marshmallows!!!) great ambiance!

5/5 it was so refreshing to feel welcomed by a business. In Colorado the tourists can sometimes become exhausting, so a lot of businesses treat you like they’re doing you a favor when you patronize their establishments. That wasn’t the case here. The front desk agent/owner was kind, accommodating and welcoming. The room itself was comfortable and clean. Can’t say enough about this place. Highly recommend!

Where do I even begin? Dawn and Jimmy are absolutely lovely. I have stayed at their cozy "hygge" lodge twice in the last 2 weeks, and I will be back again this summer. If you are looking for a warm, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere, this is your place! Truly, the best service I have ever received; they made me feel like I was part of their family. Both Dawn and Jimmy work tirelessly to remodel this charming lodge and give it a cool friendly vibe. The beds are brand new and so comfy! The rooms are super clean and cozy. The lodge offers an inviting courtyard with a fresh water stream, firepit, fresh flowers (lots of Lavender!), plenty of tables and chairs for enjoying a cup of tea or a cold brew. I love sitting under the massive spruce and Aspen trees with my book, or eating my breakfast burrito from FlaminGo next door. Sometimes other guests will strike up a friendly conversation, or Dawn or Jimmy will stop by to chat. I love that and making those connections.I highly recommend The Lodge at Poncha Springs where the "beer is good" and you can experience genuine Colorado hospitality and charm.
