I recommend the multitude of Rovers or the other dog boarding facility (Wag-n-tails) over Alpha Dog. They are much better at communication, less expensive, more flexible and way friendlier.

We're so thankful to have Alpha Dog in our community. Our dog loves it there and we feel very comfortable leaving him for overnight stays when we travel. Jackson the owner is very kind and welcoming.We've never had any issues here like at other kennels. The facility is very clean and the rates are extremely reasonable. Thank you Alpha Dog!

Poor Customer Service and Communication. Received a call from Alpha Dog Care's owner 4 days before start of overnight boarding reservation that our dog was no longer welcome at facility. This is after our dog had been at Alpha Dog Care on three separate occasions and no issues ever reported to me at time of pick ups. In addition, a staff member commented how much she loved our dog. Last minute cancellation on part of the owner caused my family to have to cancel a weekend getaway due to being unable to scramble for plan b pet care.

Took great care of our somewhat nervous pup. She ate all her food and had no readjustment issues. We cannot thank you all enough! Great facilities, ability to go outside and stay inside, and also allows the pups to play but gets set break times in the day!

The staff here was really great! We called to see if they could take our two dogs for the day so we could get out and do a days hike without them. When we dropped them off I let the staff know that one of the dogs was not very socialized with other dogs and asked them if she could be kenneled away form the other dogs. They put both of our dogs in a separate part of the kennel where they could run and play and visit with the other dogs through the fence. When we went to pick them up they were happy and well exercised. We will definitely use Alpha Dog Care the next time we are in the Salida area.

Such a fun environment for your fellow fur friends. The owner is incredibly down to earth, sweet family guy who is ready to have a great day with your pup. Definitely recommend this place for day stay or overnight, you can rest assured that you dog is in fabulous hands!

Excellent clean spacious facility with friendly staff. Options for every pup to go outside as frequently as they like. Great location too by the brewery. Our 2 large dogs had a positive experience while we rafted the Arkansas river. 5 stars!

We opted to try Alpha Dog rather than leave our 7 month old pup in his crate at the hotel while we hit the slopes. We're so glad we did too! Our little dude had a blast! And, the guy (I assume the owner) was so sweet when we picked him up. He told us how our pup did and even mentioned that he kept jumping in his lab to cuddle when the owner would sit down. Our pup is like our baby so it made us feel so great that someone was showing him attention in addition to all the other super sweet pups he got to play with. We will definitely take advantage of Alpha Dog the next time we head to Monarch to ski!

We had a great first experience here. Jackson was super friendly and as far as we can tell, our dog had an epic time here playing with all of the other pups. We’ll definitely be using Alpha as our go-to for boarding.

My mother took her dog there for 48 hours and it ended up costing $100. They charged for 3 days of 'daycare' even though she was boarding her for 2 nights. Meanwhile I boarded my dog for the exact same amount of time half a mile down the road for $40. She was not quoted for the time the dog would be there nor was the pricing explained. This came as quite a shock to someone on social security. They lady just kept saying the price is on the board. How about spend the extra minute to give the quote and explain the price? Skip this place and head to Wag-n-tails. Less than half the price, better service and excellent communication.

My dog Rye just turned 1 a month ago. He was really shy and not so confident as a puppy. I took a gamble for him with taking him to Alpha Dog Care and he came up Aces! They know what they are doing with the dogs and have such a cool atmosphere for them. I live in BV and when I get to Poncha, Rye starts to do the happy dance (Thunder Pig) and I love it. Super happy that they are there for the Ark Valley dogs. 😀

I am so grateful that this facility exists! I was passing through Buena Vista, CO to visit some family on my way to Oregon for a cross-country move. Alpha Dog was in a perfect location. They were thorough in their information and made me feel completely comfortable leaving my doggos for a couple of nights. It gave my boys a great chance to expend some energy, make new doggy friends, and be in a safe and friendly environment. Thank you for a great experience, Alpha Dog Daycare!!!

From the first stay my dogs came home happy but what really counted was their enthusiasm for the second drop off. They were happy to return. These have been overnights only but in the near future it will be a week. Fingers crossed. They are big dogs who need to burn energy and it looks like the setup with running around with other dogs for the bulk of the day is plenty. They come home tired which is the best condition for them. And us.

We were very pleased with the way Jackson took care of our dog, Izzy. She was very frightened at first but he had a solution for that. After awhile she ran and played with the other dogs. We will definitively use their services again. Great people!

This is hands down the best place to keep your dog if you are in Salida or the nearby area. Our dog "Biscuit" had a great time and got to play with other dogs while she was boarded. Your dog will not be locked in a box while you leave them there. Your dog will have every opportunity to play with other dogs and just be a dog. I can't say enough great things about this place.There was another option in Salida, but when I spoke with them on the phone about a boarding, it was like I was inconveniencing them. The manager told me she would "Get back with me" on reserving a spot. I left my name and number, and I am still waiting on that call back.Go to Alpha Dog for your sake and your dog's.

The dogs loved it! Great place to leave them while we went exploring the area on the RZR or tubing the Arkansas. Highly recommended. Take them to Gone to the Dogs for a self wash before heading back home.

Could not leave our dog who could be agressive in this environment. All dogs allowed to be left in a common area (risky?). The kennels cage is small with only chain link fencing between the next neighboring dog!The other kennel was full.

Alpha is 🔥. The only place that I am aware of that lets the dogs play together and every time my pup comes home. He's worked out and relaxed. Great place for board for sure.

Insure your dog is fixed. They don't ask when you set a reservation. It all ended well after a 3 hr drive to get them there Wagntails just a 5 min drive had a spot for my babies.
