What an awesome group of guys they have at this shop. Our engine fault light came on while we were headed home to montrose. We were worried if we could make it to a big city. I called them up and they put us on a computer to run a diagnostic right away. Luckily it wasn’t anything that needed immediate attention and we were on our way. Thank you for taking the time to help us out. This is how businesses should be run! Good people doing great things.

Had a early 2000s Subaru with manual transmission issues. Shop did good work. Some projects have more glitches than others. Shop adjusted for anything and was fair and prompt. Problem was repaired. Will use the shop again when I need to hire a mechanic.

Ryan runs a tight shop out there on the western slope, I wouldn't hesitate to refer anyone out his way to his shop. Ryan is honest (man of his word), stands behind his work and gives you it to you straight, he's literally driven from the mountains to Greeley to help on something with an engine I purchased years ago and got it all done in a timely manner.

Terrible customer service. Non communicative. I had to call multiple times about parts that he was supposed to order for a job he had to do twice because the first repair he made failed. This happened on two separate jobs. The exhaust system and the suspension. The suspension still wasn’t right, but I refused to have him repair it a third time. There are much better mechanics around.And he’s argumentative if anyone has a bad experience they decide to share. My original review was given before CM did any work on my car. I was told I would get a discount if I left a positive review on FB. So I left the review and spent the following month trying to get CM to order parts and commit to a day to make repairs. I have multiple texts from that time highlighting what a difficult time I had trying to get CM to follow through. Once the job was finally complete it failed and CM had to redo the job. The exact thing happened with the next job. Two repair jobs and both had to be redone. I opted not to change my original review of CM to avoid the argumentative stance that was taken once I finally changed it. All of the work completed can be documented via saved text messages and emails.

I have a 2002 wrx and the motor sadly went out 😕 I looked around and friends told me Carters mechanix did superb work, especially on Subaru’s. Ryan (the owner) has always done great work on my car from the high end rebuilt transmission to a hybrid swap motor. Ryan has always communicated clearly with me and been honest and straightforward about my whole process. The business is hands down the best i have ever used and the only shop I will ever use. Had them look at my truck several months ago. I was sent a quote for 3800 dollars to replace turbos and the throttle body. Was told one turbo was failing but you should always replace both at once. I asked how much to replace just the throttle body and he said it didn't really need replaced. (But it was in the quote) He also said if I was looking to sell my truck he had been looking for one like it. I opted to wait on repairs and not sell him my truck. Fast forward to now....my friend ran a diagnostic for me....code showed throttle body actuator. $129 dollar part, half hour labor and my truck runs great. I operate an ambulance company that was working on the fire outside of Parachute, CO. When our ambulance needed work, he got us back up and going immediately!! Instead of taking advantage of a customer that was far from home and desperate to get fixed, he went above and beyond to do honest and fair work. Ryan and his guys are amazing. I bought an 05 forester xt that had a motor that Ryan had just built. Since then I’ve been by twice and Ryan goes above and beyond every time. It’s worth the drive from grand junction to know my forester is in good hands. Ryan eats sleeps and breaths Subarus and I wouldn’t trust anyone else on the western slope. I bought a car and found the best mechanic around too.

My husband and I were driving from California to tour Colorado for 2 weeks. On our 2nd day we had just done thru parachute and our truck overheated bad. Long story short. It wouldn't hold water. We called Carter's and was able to limp back to their shop. It was closing time. They figured out the bottom radiator hose had blown open. They ordered hose for next day. Gave us a ride to a hotel. Fix it by 1:00 the next day. Picked us up again and we were back on the road. I can't say enough about this shop. They saved our trip. Thank you so much for your kindness and help. We feel fortunate that it happened where it did. Cheers to all of you!!!!!

Good, honest mechanic that saved our trip gone very bad. Both front bearings went out in De Beque on our way to Denver on a Friday afternoon. Besides being closed on the weekend and losing those two days, they got the parts and made the repair on Monday in time for us to pick it up first thing Tuesday on our way back. Price was exactly as expected from our research online of the Colorado labor and material standards. 👌

Cannot recommend them enough. Some of the kindest, most compassionate humans run this business. My friends and I were visiting from out of state and got stranded in our rental van on a the side of the highway. Calling around for local auto help, Ryan and his team were beyond incredible, giving us a tow and even driving us to our destination in Grand Junction. I brought my truck here in Feb. I was told my engine needed to be replaced. After paying the shop/owner Ryan Carter in full $5,194.00 he made excuse after excuse on why the engine hadn’t come yet. He did not want to provide a tracking number on the engine build because it wasn’t ordered correctly and on time. My money was used by the shop for personal expenses and when my wife and I caught him after some investigation he had nothing to say. I can provide anyone with the information to prove how truly awful this shop is and how dishonest Ryan Carter is. Oh and the kicker is I never needed an engine replacement at all, just a cam, lifters, springs. Less than $2,700.00 completed. These so called mechanics either 1. are absolute thieves and knew what was wrong and chose to try and fleece my family for money or 2 they are just awful mechanics whom don’t know how to diagnose an engine properly. Do not take your vehicle here, I have never left a review in my life and just want to save families from heartache and wasting their hard earned money.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

If you are wondering where to take your car to get repaired/serviced - there is no one better in the area to get anything done. I’ve been to a lot of mechanics and never had an experience like this one. Our car got stranded on I-70, we needed a tow and repair, and these guys dropped their day to get out there within 15 minutes and tow us back to their shop and get us back on the road again. As a group of 5 women on a road trip, this was a pretty scary experience but they came out and handled it and helped us beyond their means. I mean it when I say these guys are good all around and prices were absolutely great. Thanks again for your guys help!

I don’t write reviews but please for the love of God if you are going to take your vehicle here, go get a second opinion, request receipts of the owner “ordering your parts” and expect a long time for your vehicle to be in this shop.The owner is extremely dishonest and makes excuse after excuse. It’s runaround after runaround with why he can’t provide any information, dates, tracking numbers for your own part order that your order. It was a messMy husband ended up withdrawing his vehicle from here after waiting over 2 months without his truck and took it to a place in Grand Junction that had a complete different diagnosis and provided all information up front with prices, detailed quote, recieprs and tracking information on parts that he paid for like a real shop should do. Mr. Carter would let weeks go by before giving us an update and then it was that “something got lost” or “another 4 weeks”. The financial part of this business is not professionally done and made us feel super uncomfortable as customers. Again I never write reviews but we’re so disappointed with how we were treated here.

Me and my four girl friends were on a road trip when our rental car broke down 30 mins away from our destination. It was going to be hours before the owner could drive to meet us and after not being able to reach Triple A one of our friends looked up mechanics in the area and gave Ryan a call.He called us back right away and said he would drive over to take a look at the car. Once he got there the car was toast and Ryan left to come back and give us a towe.Not only did he towe our car, he had his whole crew and amazing wife help us in our situation. They got two of their own cars and drove us 40 minutes to where we were going.When we tried to pay, he said we were all set.Ryan and his crew our LIFESAVERS and just really shows their are still good people in this worldTHANK YOU SO MUCH!!
