We stopped here in early November based on a recommendation from another local business owner and enjoyed a wonderful respite from our long day on the road. The cheeseburgers and chips were excellent. The staff welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed. After a late lunch, we cruised the little store and bought bags of dried apples and chunks of homemade fudge, both of which were superb. Our timing calendar-wise was great since Berg Harvest took a winter break starting Nov. 20, 2021. Seating is on a deck that can be closed or opened depending on the weather. The view from the deck of the well-cared-for apple orchard made me feel like I had stepped into New England. We enjoyed the old pieces of equipment indoors and outside with educational signage. It feels like Berg Harvest has a great sense of pride in what it does. I hope we can come back some day. This would be a fun stop in the middle of a summer wine-tasting trip to Paonia.

Had the chicken fried steak sandwich and sweet potatoe fries. This is your average small town diner. Fries were good. The chicken steak was dry. Nice setting overlooking the orchard. Small store adjacent to the diner selling honey and peaches and other souvenirs and hiking maps.Friendly service.

At Berg Harvest Mercantile the roast beef and swiss panini was very good. I liked the outdoor seating area with views of an orchard and surrounding hills. The soft serve ice cream was ok.

First of all there is no Verizon internet coverage (that we could find) in Paonia. This restaurant has wi-fi but we had to ask the server to sign in for us. My wife had a chicken sandwich that was tasty but a little generic. I had the chicken wings which were very good and they gave just drumettes like I asked! The only seating area is on the covered deck in the back which overlooks the orchard but is open to the outside temp. The peaches were good inside but the cheeto like butter toffee puff snacks were just OK.

Too bad not opened all year round, but I will take whatever open hours they have. Great food and atmosphere. Can get a little busy, but worth the wait in those times. Pizza is fantastic! Staff is super friendly but can seem a bit overwhelmed at times. And I haven't even mentioned the fresh fudge offerings, shakes, soft serve cones, and breakfast. Nice.

We stopped by to get the kids some ice cream for their weekly sugar high. They had a great time. Great views of the mountains, great service, great owner. Lots of great products. There's a nice balcony area in the back where you can enjoy a few drinks and the orchard.

This is a great place. Spent a few days in Paonia with a local who had never been to Berg's. I ordered a 12" pepperoni and sausage pie. I think it was the best pizza I've had for a long time. Crust was perfect, flavor awesome. A little too much cheese for me, but it was good cheese. I've had mozzarella on pizza that was like chewing a tire, this was not. Everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly. The only downside for me was the seating. It's all patio, covered, ceiling fans, and big open garage style doors that look out onto an orchard. It was in the 90's, which is no big deal when I'm outside doing things, but a little hot for eating. Regardless, I'd go back.

We were camping in the area and had Berg Harvest recommend to us by a local. They have fantastic food and excellent service. We went back several times during our trip, had the pizza, breakfast burritos, smoothies, cinnamon rolls, fudge, and of course, some fresh organic cherries and peaches. Everything was EXCELLENT! Family friendly and will definitely be back the next time we're in the area!

Rude staff. SUPER long wait. Subpar pizza’s. The sauce tastes like nothing but tomato paste and it’s doughy in the center. The veggies seemed fresh so that’s the only positive. Huge disappointment.

Great place to stop and relax after a long day of driving. Enjoy sandwiches, cold drinks, and ice cream. Interesting little tractor farm next to it with antique tractors to walk around and see. Easy parking. Sit out on the front or back porch and enjoy your meal.

Lived in Paonia nearly 2 years, and never been into this lovely local store.I had a coffee caramel frappe and a Turkey Panini with fries. Very fast pleasant service. Sat at a lovely outside table with views of the mountains. Water for my dog.I also purchased some home made fudge. Delicious. Clean & friendly place. So happy to have discovered it. Thanks guys
