I was lucky enough to stay here while the owner was in town, a VERY nice and friendly man. Although all of you may not experience this as he is not always in town, while the owner is there, the hospitality is absolutely amazing. We wanted to grill some stakes but had no materials to do so. The owner personally went into town, bought us charcoal and lighter fluid, brought us some of his own plates and silverware, and was the most attentive and helpful person throughout the entire stay. If you ever get a chance to meet him, you are in luck!! Aside from that, the room I was in was very spacious and clean, the view and location is amazing, and unlike many lodges the hot tubs are open 24/7!! I will admit I was slightly disappointed by the breakfast, but I believe for what they charge for the rooms you are still getting quite a bargain. Overall, my experience was great and I am very satisfied and pleased with my stay. I do not wish to try any other hotel or resort in Ouray, The River’s Edge Lodge can consider me and my family long term and loyal customers.Rooms: I was in a larger room, so I cannot fairly speak for all rooms, but my room was very large and spacious and clean for its price. All rooms have easy hot tub access, parking, and a great view.Nearby activities: This lodge is located right in the center of the town, but still very peaceful. Every shop and store in town is a small walk away, not even worth driving. The view is incredible from most rooms, and the location is very convenient.Safety: All rooms are keycard access, and can also be dead bolted from the inside. I felt very safe and comfortable there. The community and location in general is a very safe and quiet area anyways!

River's Edge Motel was very friendly. John who runs the establishment was very hospitable and caring. Our room were clean and neat with all that we need for us to be ready for the great views around Ourey. Hot tub was a relaxer for and the complimentary simple breakfast bags made our hikes allot easier to bring and enjoy. I highly recommend coming here for anyone that wants to enjoy the mountain life with a good rest.

This place is super cute and comfortable. The room was very clean, SPACIOUS, and well appointed. We used and enjoyed the hot tub, the chairs overlooking the river, and the free morning coffee.You can see how much the owner is putting into improving the place and making it comfortable.Easy walk to all the downtown things. We didn't touch the car once we checked in and made 4+ trips to the main drag.

Great location, price and grounds. Beautiful place with the river running right beside our room. Lots of grass for the dogs and an off leash park right behind the motel. Easy walk to downtown also. The room is big and clean with good TV and bath. We would definitely stay here again. CON, there is no breakfast as advertised and do not say anything to the desk girl, she gets very offended if you do.

Nice seating area by river and hot tubs with river and mountain views too.Walkability: Very nice river walk trail right around the corner and can jump to Perimeter Trail ifrom it if you're so inclined. Short walk up to the main drag and shops, restaurants etc.

Rooms are a little dated but are being upgraded from the construction going on currently. The staff is doing a great job taking care of guests. The views and the proximity to the river are awesome.Walkability: You are close to everything in town. You can definitely walk to all the attractions and restaurants

This place is amazing! They aren't technically a motel. They're changing their name and the place so neat. They were dog friendly and the dog park was right in the back. The hot tubs are available for use 24/7 and were GREAT! The hospitality here was off the charts. John and his daughter are so sweet, thorough and are doing an amazing job. Will DEFINITELY stay here again!!

Really like the location. Room was a good size. Enjoyed the hot tubs near the river. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean though somewhat dated. Beds were not the most comfortable. The to go breakfast wasn't much a small muffin, orange, egg, and a bottle of water. Would probably stay here again.

The rooms were very clean, there was a microwave and fridge so we could bring our own food to heat up. Shower was really nice and stocked with shampoo and body wash. Although we aren't big TV people, we still found it nice to browse the guide and found something to relax to. Close to everything so we walked basically everywhere. Beautiful view right on the river. Hot tubs were 24/7 and that SOLD us because I love to soak when we take these climbing trips. I completely messed up my days and they still made it work for us. They still are serving small breakfast items. John was SUPER friendly and we much prefer to SUPPORT LOCAL, SMALL, FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS. Thanks guys! We WILL be back!

This is an ok hotel with rooms that are dated but comfortable. Don't expect much interaction or help from management whether it is cleaning your room, quieting the dog in the room next door or furnishing a hot breakfast as advertised. We had a dog barking in room next to us and the breakfast is a cold breakfast in a bag that fluctuates daily mostly consisting of bottle of water, energy bar, yogurt and coffee. The hot breakfast advertised on the brochure and their website was immediately crossed off when we checked in. Their false advertising is as follows- "Full Hot Breakfast served dailyFeaturing assorted juices, make your own waffles, hot and cold cereal, breads, bagels, English muffins, donuts, and biscuits and gravy with sausage." NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!!!!!!

Creekside beauty here! Lovely place to stay, we were there in November with no snow but cold nights and it was perfect for us. We were walking along the creek in the grassy area taking in the beauty, when I looked down a path and thought I saw a fake deer! But it was a real mule deer that walked up to us like a greeter. We were able to get it on video and it was a magical moment for us. The grounds were very well kept our room was clean and very nice, like our own cabin getaway.They offered a hot tub and fire pit outside for us to enjoy if we wanted. They had a grab and go lite breakfast. The lodge is pet friendly which is how we roll with our poodle, Jolie Fleur!You should know to be bear aware in the evening.Close to everything, Ouray is a very small town. In the off season some businesses close early or for the season so be sure to check out current hours.I highly recommend this motel its more like a lodge but we did enjoy our stay!

This place is awesome! Super super cute. I enjoyed walking by the river and the firepit at night. Rooms were a great size with comfy beds and a full kitchen. The staff was great! Very responsive and friendly. I was surprised and impressed they offer breakfast bags during the pandemic- other major chain hotels I have stayed at this year haven't offered any breakfast so it was cool to see River's Edge go above and beyond while still keeping everyone safe. Would definitely recommend and stay there again! :)

This is a great hidden gem in Ouray! Clean rooms and an excellent property right by the river. Our stay included enjoying a great fire pit and clean/well maintained hot tubs outside under the stars. There are adorable little touches everywhere, and you can tell the owner John puts a lot of love into this property. We had an excellent stay and would definitely return!

My family loves this place! Laura is very kind and laid back. They are dog friendly. The rooms are slightly dated but very comfortable and clean and the grounds could be in a magazine. If you want to sit out next to a fire or want to soak in a hot tub they have both to sooth your soul if the beauty of the surrounding mountains didn't do the trick.

I loved this place! It is dog friendly, right on the river and has a great venue from the hot tubs! Laura was very nice and helpful. You can walk from the hotel to hike the perimeter trail. Love the location. Ouray is so beautiful and I love it there. Will definitely return when there is less snow and I can complete more hikes later in the summer.

We stayed in a double queen with a kitchenette. This was the most amazing stay. The hot tub is 24/7 and sitting there watching the snow come down was the absolute best.Everything is within a block and a half of the motel room. A small grocery store, multiple different small shops, a chocolate shop, liquor store, brewery and kitchen store to name a few! While our room came with most of what we needed for a few days, the kitchen store in twon was also a blessing.The shower was super hot, all appliances worked, the room was wonderfully warm, and we couldn't ask for a better place to stay. Best birthday ever.

We have been to Ouray several times, and stayed successfully at other locations. This was by far the worst lodging that we’ve experienced in Ouray.The owner is not on property and has left his inexperienced daughter and her boyfriend to run it.They didn’t have multiple rooms ready for check-in on the day we checked in. We thought ok, not a big deal as the weather was great and sitting outside wasn’t an issue.Our breakfast was supposed to be hot, and ended up being a brown sack with a water, small bag of mini muffins, a small size granola bar, and a cutie.We were also supposed to be given hard boiled eggs, but that never happened.We were never offered compensation for the lack of breakfast, and could never find the daughter.The drain trap at the bathroom sink had a horrible odor coming out of it which indicated lack of cleaning.My husband reported it to the boyfriend, and he acknowledged that he was aware of it, but never in our 5 days there did he come to fix it.The property has reached the point of needing some TLC, and maintenance issues addressed, and I doubt that this young couple has the experience, or the incentive to get it done.It was really disappointing, as the location is great, and the property certainly has potential........no one seemed to care.

I was only there for a night so didn't take advantage of the trail by the river. The to-go breakfast was well planned and the hard boiled egg was perfectly done.

Outstanding. So glad we found this place. Friendly staff, amazing landscaping, very clean and comfortable. The dual hot tubs next to the river are awesome. 2 blocks from "downtown" Ouray, so everything is in walking distance. Will absolutely stay again. Love this place!
