I've gotten a rough cut opal and a Tommy knocker. Fun place to shop. Informative staff, not salty. You'll see museum quality work as well as whimsical wows for all ages. Locals know about this spot...time you shopped like a local.

Awesome local place and the guy behind the counter was more than helping. I was there for a specific piece I was looking for and before the front door even closed he had a display out of exactly what I was looking for. A person who runs a jewelry shop in Twin Lakes Colorado recommended this place so I drove from Twin Lakes and it was well worth the quick trip. Very affordable and TONS of merchandise, stones, gems novelties and the whole other side of the shop was packed for off what looked like professional stone sculpting equipment, grinders, lolichers all the equipment needed to hunt rocks and gems on your own. Super cool place and I will be going back next time I'm in the area. I recommended this place to my friends in Grand Junction who are rockaholics and one of those places that is truly a diamond in the ruff. Go check it out!

Stopped in today on a whim.. Was more than impressed! Such a breath of fresh air to see someone take such pride in displaying and selling mineral specimens. I’ve been to one other rock shop that impressed me on our cross country road trip, and this one still far surpasses it! Great prices, great selection, and awesome ownership. We will be back for sure :)

We've driven by The Rock Doc for years saying "we should stop there someday". Finally we stopped in. What a treasure both in the inventory of jewelry and mineral specimens but the couple that helped us (the owners I assumed) were friendly and helpful. Plan out some time to browse, you'll need it.

I don’t usually take the time to leave reviews, but I had to this time! We spend a lot of time in the BV/Salida areas, but have never stopped by. I have two elementary-aged kids and they both love rocks and minerals. I regret not remembering her name, but the woman (I’m guessing the owner?) chatted with my kids and got them SO excited about geology. Her passion really came through and what I assumed would be just a side stop ended up being a fun educational experience. She even gifted my kids some sand dollars on our way out. She is very knowledgeable, especially about local geology. We will be back!

Had everything i need for gem hounding and gold panning. Super friendly staff. Making sure not to ignore anyone in the store while also giving me advice on what to buy as a beginner and gave great advice. I loved their selections of different things that are available. The Rock Doc is my #1 go to Rock and Prospecting shop, I am always in awe of the amazing specimens the ladies have there and the friendly atmosphere and conversation is always so fun and welcoming!! Thank you for making my visits so special! Your shop is one of the first large Rock Shops I ever visited with my grandparents as a kiddo and the ability to keep coming back and enjoying my hobby with my husband now is just priceless!! Today was our second time in the shop. The Rock Doc was so kind and helpful and she got us on our way with all the gear we will need and some great pointers for hounding in the area. The selection of rock and minerals and gems and fossils was amazing. I wanted one of everything. I can't wait to come back and get new treasures for my curio cabinet!

A long, narrow building with many beautiful rocks and some pretty jewelry. Great spot to pick out some gifts and something pretty for yourself! Bought a smoky quartz necklace and I thought most of his items were reasonably priced. Helpful man behind the counter was friendly and kind. Even when there was a kid touching and breaking stuff, he kept his cool but also control over his establishment. Respect!

An absolute legend of a shop. Nothing but great tips and tricks, immense knowledge and awesome prices/items. From moon rocks to dinosaur bones and arrowheads, you can find it all here. The woman we spoke with was very sweet and had an awesome trick to keep our little 3 year olds hands busy while in the shop (so as not to touch anything) VERY clever. Much love for the rock doc. Will be back.

This place was small but the woman is so nice. Beautiful selection of rocks,fossils and minerals. If you're nearby you should check it out. Even if you're not into rocks there are still neat things to look at. She has some from all over the world.

I took in some rare crystals and specimens and she acted like she didn't know what they were. They were worth thousands of dollars found out later. She gave me a couple hundred dollars. She's a dishonest person and took advantage of my lack of knowledge. Do not trust her . She only cares about money not people.

Great store for all your wonderful crystals, stones, geodes, pretty jewelry, and even gold panning or lapidary equipment. Amazing staff who are friendly, educated and helpful! If you're driving past here it's definitely worth stopping and checking out all the beautiful pieces that are in there especially if you're into rocks!

This place is awesome! I drove by dozens of times without stopping and I regret it. You could spend hours in here looking at all the beautiful minerals and their prices are very reasonable. I travel all over the country and stop a a lot of shops like this. Rock Doc is by far the best. I told Cindy I was looking for something really specific and she kept looking for months to find me exactly what I asked for! I can't say enough about this shop. They definitely have a customer for life!
