Grooming department overbooked their day and cancelled my appointment for my 2 rescue dogs!!!! i had booked my appoint a very long time in advance, they canceled it the day i was to bring them in. Manager Heather and Groomer Lexi have issues with sweet Rescue dogs!!!!! Gave lame excuses why they couldnt groom, stating that i booked them wrong online. Horrifing! i have 5 dogs my real groomer couldnt get them in. I feel they were rude and made up excuses to not groom them. they over booked their day, and my dogs took the hit. will NEVER go to petco grooming ever again! If they were going to weasel out of grooming they could have at least given me time to find someone else before christmas. AWFUL!Laurie Ware

Came and got some fish and the Manager seemed to know what he was talking about and even helped me find a better fit for the fish I have. He was super friendly and glad to help me find what I needed, Thank you petco for hiring the best of the best😁😁

I told the girl my dog has a sore hip. She only came in to get her nails clipped. One of the ladies held her in her arms while the other clipped her nails. They were so nice to make sure she was comfortable.

I drove an hour to this store to get supplies for my new puppy. I was shocked when I walked in the store. There is merchandise everywhere. A lot scattered all over the floor. The shelves empty, pallets full of merchandise all over the sales floor. I could not even get to some of the items to look at them. Unfortunately, they did not even have half the stuff I was looking for. Common items that are found in every other petco. My mother was with me. She has worked in retail for 30 years. She was in shock over the sales floor. The lady that checked me out asked if I found everything I was looking for, I said no and asked her what happened to the store. She just said we are doing the best we can. I don’t know what else to say, other than I was really disappointed. I can’t imagine being an employee and working in that mess. It has to be so frustrating.

I'm not a huge fan of big box pet store corporations, but the staff at this Petco are very friendly and approachable. Honestly better than PetSmart in my opinion. However I do wish that they will clean their bathrooms better, because the last couple of times I was there there was toilet paper on the floor and it was dusty. I get that the store is old, but it should still be cleaned. The animals sold here are decently cared for. I got a budgie parakeet from them named Marley and he's my buddy. Hopefully he lives with me as a companion for the entirety of his lifespan.

It is our fur baby's birthday and went inside to pick out a new toy. Marica was awesome. She pointed out where the toys were for small dogs and we picked out 2.

Very helpful and nice, they are a little understaffed. I waited in the fish area for about 10 minutes waiting for an employee. It is always full of boxes and crates in the way.

Visited recently to pick up some supplies for a new pet and its your standard-issue Petco. The cashier was very friendly but we learned that the entire staff has covid and the manager has "walking pneumonia" but forced all their employees to work anyways. Everyone was coughing and generally miserable. Management should not force sick people to work. Poorly run and managed, sad if this is how they treat their employees, they deserve better.

This store is so chaotic. I used to go 2-3 times per month for dog food and every time the store is a mess. There are always, every time without fail, dozens of pallets stacked high with in stocked merchandise and blocking the isles. You can barely move a cart around. I’ve started going to murdochs for pet food because this Petco is stressful even to walk into.

I absolutely love the fact that I can use my big plastic tub over and over again to refill our kitty litter. I despise single use plastic. Plus friendly, helpful employees

Pet Co is a great pet store in Montrose Co. They have a great selection of pet food for all types of animals. There selection of grain free dog food is really nice. They have a pet treat bulk section. A huge selection of fish, turtles, lizards, snakes and rodents. Pet toys and pet beds. Everything you could possibly need for your fur baby.

Trying to contact someone regarding grooming is next to impossible. I have left messages for call back over the last 6 months. They have never answered the phone or returned my call.

Mixed feelings about this location. The clerks are friendly, and when we get talking, they genuinely want to help me provide the best for my pets. I appreciate their passion! But some downers:This location is frequently understaffed, and I feel like I wait a LONG time before I get help. Someone "must" remain at the front, so they can't come help me. And others are up on ladders or pushing pallets, restocking shelves. Please don't make me feel like I'm interrupting your work when I finally find you and ask for help -- I am the customer, and I'm supposed to be a priority over your restocking tasks.Pet and Product knowledge -- I'm having a problem coming in, asking for advice / education, following the info I've been given (or using the product suggested), then when my fish (plural) die and I come back for a refund, I'm told an entirely different set of advice, like I've done it all wrong. One tells me the fish needs no heater, no filter, no bubbles, no water treatment (that sounded fishy to me, pun intended). When my betta appeared sick, I came in and, after being scolded about how people don't understand they're a tropical fish, spent $80 on a heater, anti-biotic, pH testing supplies, water conditioner, salt, thermometer... I accept that these are the proper tools/supplies that I need to make a good home for my pet, by why isn't the entire staff trained to give me the proper info in the first place, and CERTAINLY not treat me like a rebellious child who doesn't deserve the responsibility of caring for an animal because (despite following the advice given) I messed up my pet's environment? This further occurred when I got a larger tank, and wanted to create a community tank for my betta. I researched proper tank mates on-line, then spent half hour with staff choosing who could go in the tank. First, everyone got sick because the instructions that came with the store brand's tank say to set it up and run it 24 hours before adding fish (staff later explained ammonia and nitrite spikes, and that it should run up to ONE WEEK with no fish). So when I brought back ALL THE FISH THEY SOLD ME -- WHICH HAD ALL DIED -- I was told (by a different clerk) none of these could be in with a Betta, and I had ALOT of preparation to do with the new tank before I could add fish.CURRENTLY: The male Betta lives by himself in the small tank, and he's happy, and the chemistry is all good. The 10 Gallon is a Betta Sorority (all females) with a loach & pleco. They all do great. But I built this community WITH FISH FROM WAL MART, because they're so much cheaper, the return policy is the same, and because the Walmart staff doesn't know ANYTHING about pets, I don't get conflicting advice. (I get no advice at all, I just keep reading posts from successful fish-keepers on-line.)CONCLUSION: I'll still come in. I still like the staff. They need more training, and a focus on Customer Service. But I'll probably buy fish and supplies elsewhere, hoping to skip the different advice offered by different clerks.

One star is too generous considering the patronizing manager. He has the store looking like trash, boxes and crates and unopened product all over, and then cries because he only has 6 staff members? 🙄 Sounds to me like everyone needs to pitch in and stock. Feeding people lines of bull just to deflect from being lazy and not taking accountability for failure to accomplish tasks.

The staff is pretty great the store it's self however needs some serious work....merchandise everywhere!!! On the floor,s in carts that are just left in aisles, and The live reptile food is usually old and only lasts like a week when I get it home. It isn't rotated regularly I understand that shipping is a thing but when it happens regularly there's an issue.

As a prior operations manager for a Petco store, it's really sad what this store has slowly dwindled to. The shelves were not stocked, there were tons of product on the floor, and most shelves and hangers were empty. This location was so poorly stocked and conditioned, made me question if the store might be closing soon.. My main reason for going into this store, was to look at fish, which was disappointing. The representative working in the fish area gave me a horrible excuse of the unhealthy looking fish tanks, and tried to why his tanks looked the way they did. I took pride in all of the fish tanks when I worked for this company, and constantly received nothing but compliments. I have to take some of the initiative in the compliments I received because I cleaned most of the fish tanks myself, so I knew that the were spot on with fish health, cleanliness, and overall tank condition. I suggested to the representative about moving some of the algae eaters into some of the other tanks so that they could help assist with the algae buildup which would help keep the tanks looking clean, but instead he gave me an excuse that he's waiting for a shipment to come in to go into specific tanks, which might be partially true, but not an excuse that's acceptable because algae eaters could and can go into most fresh water tanks. 🤯💨 With him not knowing my expertise in fish, and because he tried to fudge around that pathetic excuse of the conditions of the fish tanks, that prevented me from buying anything from that store pertaining to fish, and that is on two separate trips to this location. This also is after traveling over an hour in each dorection to get to this location hoping that the tanks looked somewhat decent as I remember them to be. I'm sure they're understaffed, but having dead fish floating in most the tanks is completely unacceptable. The new front end cashier was amazing, but he can't make up for all of the other shortcomings of the store. That 100% falls on the store manager who was not seen anywhere on the floor. I used to take pride in working for that company, as well as in the condition of the store even as the operations manager, and I know for a fact on my worst day, my store never, and would never look like this store did or I would have cleaned it myself. Sadly, this is the only place I know of to get fish in the area, so I'll have to travel 2 1/2 hours to another store that hopefully has better looking tanks, no dead fish floating, and has a knowledgeable person working in the fish department that won't feed me a line of BS regarding the preventable condition of the tanks that customers are peering into. A well deserved disappointing review.. Where is corporate, and why are they allowing this to happen, because this store could/should be a very profitable store, if ran correctly.. This one clearly is not and I'm sure they're losing money, and clearly it doesn't need to continue to be a negative profiting store, or an eyesore for people who visit this location. It truly is an embarrassment to the company, especially with only one of it's kind in the area. 👎👎👎!!

It’s really disappointing to see the same pallets of merchandise blocking entire isles and shelves for over 3 months now. I’ve gone in looking for my fish tank filters multiple times since June and encountered the same disorganized chaos and exactly zero filters stocked. Empty shelves everywhere. Merchandise laying across the entire store. I know this isn’t a reflection on the employees, but the store manager. Please close the store for a day or two and have all hands on deck fixing that mess. I would hate to work like that every day with no direction from management and irritated customers. I’ve had to take my business elsewhere due to never having the items I need stocked. It’s a bummer to see the store like that for so long.
