Great little shop for outdoor gear and clothing as well as some unexpected treats, like Zapp’s New Orleans Kettle Style Voodoo potato chips! The staff were outstanding as well - courteous and friendly - they went out of their way to help us with our questions. Highly recommend.

Great shop for outdoor gear and outdoor advice! My family has camped near Leadville twice in the last several years and this shop has friendly and helpful staff and a good selection of gear given the size of the shop. Their prices are the same as what you find online, so they aren't price gouging even though they are in a small town with hardly any other options for outdoor gear. That's the kind of good business ethics that should be respected and rewarded.They can tell you about local hiking options and have maps to help as well. I will continue to shop there when we return in the future.

This place is the best. While it is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, it is also a perfect stop for the souvenir shopper or for those that appreciate a well crafted retail experience. The staff is so welcoming and thoughtful and most of the time you get to hang out with a great dog. I go there every time I am in Leadville. They are a great winter equipment rental shop as well!

Last summer almost exactly a year ago I needed a camping chair to take to the Rainbow Gathering. We had been looking all the way from Austin Texas through New Mexico and finally found it! Just perfect!! Greatest place to shop.

Loved the atmosphere and service provided at Leadville Outdoors and Mountain Market! Grace assisted me with my purchase of some Black Diamond trekking poles and was so incredibly sweet! She took the time to answer my questions and couldn’t have been more helpful. I will definitely be returning if I find myself in Leadville again! :)

I recently had a camping trip right outside of Leadville and stopped by Leadville Outdoors to grab a few items that I forgot to pack. The store was well stocked and had everything that I was looking for - not to mention an AWESOME staff that went out of their way to help answers some questions about gear I was needing. I would HIGHLY recommend stopping here to grab outdoor supplies you need (or even just to check out how neat the store is)!

Even though this outfitting so is small it is packed to the brim with useful stuff for humans and dogs alike, which are allowed inside. The knowledgeable staff answers any of your tough mountaineering questions and points you in the right direction if you aren't sure where to start. I personally overheard a gentleman and his friend ask about avalanche conditions for a trip they were planning upon Mt. Elbert and were directed to this site by someone else because the clerk was very experienced and knowledgeable of the conditions and routes. Despite it being winter, there are plenty of summer equipment there too. I noticed that because of how crazy Colorado weather is they are prepared to get you what you need regardless of weather. All of the staff is plenty nice too! So weather your skiing, snowboarding, mountaineering, hiking, walking with your fur buddy, preparing to survive an avalanche, brushing up on reading or hearing up for the next 14er these guys should be your one stop shop.

Such a good resupply for dehydrated meals and isobutand during my motorcycle camping trip. When asked about disposing of my mostly-empty fuel can, the woman running the store offered the "free bucket" by the door, to which I was glad to contribute. I'll gladly come back if passing through Leadville again!

The BEST place to get high quality and brand name gear here in town, even better than all of the stores in Summit IMO. If you don’t see what you need, they’ll order it. Good prices, friendly and knowledgeable staff. I pop in here quite a bit, had my touring skis mounted here and got them back within a few days during season. Couldn’t ask for more!

This is a real great store. The prices aren't bad and they have quite a variety of outdoor necessities you might have forgot. The nice woman who worked there was very knowledgeable in the products that are in the store and very helpful. My husband got a pair of la sportiva trail running shoes and he loves the hell out of them! We will be going back for new shoes for me and a different pack for my husband!! We love these local stores!!

Great selection and atmosphere. I rented skins from them for an avalanche course last weekend, and they were incredibly accommodating and understanding when I had some issues getting them returned. I felt more like I was dealing with a friend than a business. It was pretty cool! Thank you!

First class service at a good price. They were recommended to us by another outdoors store down the street because their snow shoes were more suited for our adventure (back country backpacking). They got us outfitted quickly and easily. When my girlfriend got altitude sickness and we returned a day early, they graciously allowed us a refund of the remaining day on our rental. Highly recommended and I will return to them again!

Went in looking for a men's puffy jacket. This was a last minute decision since I didn't have a good, lightweight, compressible jacket for Mt. Elbert hike. The staff there don't seem very knowledgeable about the merchandise they're selling. The staff were happy to sell me a women's jacket saying it was a men's. It was almost as if they operate this way on purpose. We did get to Leadville right before store was closing. I was told it was a men's jacket. It wasn't.

The staff and owner are great people with excellent customer service. The shop is on point with working towards having gear and supplies adequate for each season. If they do not have something in stock they work with you in finding an alternative or just ordering it. All around great shop with great employees.

This places is absolutely NOT wheelchair accessable. Also the selection is extremely limited which is understandable because it's so small. The prices are insane on items and it's clearly not a place for your average blue collar/ball'n on a budget types. It's a place you'd find some rich Liberal Denverites who have some how taken a wrong turn into Leadville and keep coming back. I was going to give 3 stars but the employees make up for.it for always being very nice and helpful.

Best option in town if you’re looking to rent basic things like snow shoes and cross country skis!Knowledgeable staff for all things Leadville recreation.Good selection and high quality gear. Not recommended to rent from for your typical day at the downhill ski resorts though!

I’m a Colorado Trail thru-hiker that got caught in the rain and decided to make a detour into Leadville to dry off. I’ve never used trekking poles before, but after 12 days on the trail, I’m finally understanding why people use them. To make a long story short, I bought the wrong size poles thinking that they adjusted. When I realized my mistake and brought the poles back the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly with the exchange. I bought the correct sized poles that were actually cheaper than my original purchase. They refunded the difference and I was out the door in just a few minutes. The shop has lots of really high quality gear along with fancy beer and wine for folks going glamping. Definitely check them out!

This place is absolutely wonderful. Had everything we were looking to get to do a 14er tomorrow. The staff was really helpful and nice along with nice tips on what else is in the area. Definitely stop here if you're looking for supplies or some where to spend a little time. Also really clean with hand sanitizer too! A+
