Things are a little expensive for food. I'm not sure if this is normal or because of inflation at this time. Very nice fruit tho. Great prices on meat as well. It's a small community market which has a nice atmosphere, and the employees were very friendly in my experience.

Prices are a little steep but it's to be expected of a small town grocery store of course, but their meats are priced correctly and they do run specials quite often.

The prices are great in the selection is the same. As far as the clerks go in the front, that could be a lot better. They need to be more friendly. They need to treat you like you're a customer and not an obstacle. They're knowledgeable on the items they have and where they're at but they don't act like they care if they give you the information about it or not. They're not necessarily the nicest people in the world.

An amazing family owned store that really supports the entire community. Their meat and produce departments cannot be beat. Thaxtons just may be the best small-town grocery store in Colorado if not the nation.

The selection is limited. I would not like to buy produce here. It is always very crowded with long lines. The prices are astronomical... I would say AT LEAST TWICE as much as any other grocery store. A friend, however, did point out that he prefers to get his meat products here since they are cut fresh by in-store butcher.

I love this store.. they carry items you can't find anywhere else.. they have a cooler across from western union that always has something good in it.. AND they carry green kool-aid which is actually hard to find in this area..

A little expensive. We all understand why. I grew up with Brent and I know he does the best he can. With the price of gas I think it evens out. Service is good and workers are friendly and helpful. Thank you to the lady worker who realized I was working with one arm due to injury

Nice small town grocery store. All the staff are polite, friendly, and helpful. It is a little more expensive than say Walmart, but it is better to support small business as much as possible. Plus, it's local.

It's unfortunate that a little neighborhood grocery store that's so convenient and liked by so many hires the ,rudest, indignant cashiers I've ever seen. The two women that currently work there act as though they are doing you a huge favor by them just doing their job. It's not just me either. My neighbors say the same thing. Walmart is a bit further but at least they do train their employees to have a little tact and class when dealing with the public. . The owners should address this issue asap

Thriftway is a chain store that has proven itself to be a bit overpriced in other areas but this location is at least well-stocked.Friendly staff who are quick to open new check-out lanes when needed.The stock/floor staff I have dealt with were knowledgeable about the entire store's stock and are friendly and quick to help.

I will never step foot in a thaxton's market again after the treatment I just received from one of your Fowler employees at the Ordway store and one of the Ordway employees the young man from Fowler when I asked him why he was parked in a handicap spot was the rudest person I ever met and then when I asked the clerk for the number to the Fowler store the clerk informed to me that she didn't know it didn't even know the Ordway number well that's unacceptable you can offer to retrieve the number for your customer

Love that small town market 😁very good produce with decent prices! I got some great bananas, apples, avocado, and a giant 🍅 for some salad yummy! They also do money orders if you're looking for a place and the post office is right down the street on 6th!😁

Very friendly and helpful staff but their cuts of beef when I went for 4th of July shopping were brown and gray. I think I might have gotten food sickness just from looking at them! 🤮

Prices way too high, zero customer service, mangers never there, bunch of kids running the place, looks like the circus came to town... You know circus folk, carnies, small hands, smell like cabbage!

Workers should be on the same page and know the current laws. Was denied a WU transaction because I didn't have an ID with my current address on it. Just moved here and made the 1st available appointment with dmv and it was scheduled for 2 months out, for their FIRST AVAILABLE. And if I'm not mistaken your given 60-90 to change your ID/address. Girl was RUDE.

After living in Las Animas for a year now, I can tell you this is not a good store to shop. Groceries are on average 30-40% more than local dollar store prices. Although meats, cheese and produce are reasonably priced, fresh bakery items are non existent. Furthermore at checkout don't expect to get cash back from your debit or credit card purchase. They do not give cash back. You'll have to use the ATM and pay a fee of course. For a small town with an annual median income if less than $26k per year this store is anything but the pride of the community. I recommend traveling 19 miles west to La Junta where you'll find a Safeway and Super Wal-Mart.

I was impressed with the selection of products the store carries the place was clean ( including floors) the staff was friendly the prices were good whole experience was nice.
