The Happy Beast Keeps my Beast happy!They are the best animal store i have been too. We found this unique shop and well we go in weekly now! They actually carry my dogs food, and all the beast add ins and extras.They talk to you and explain things. They have their own fresh treats & eats for your beasts.Always something to chew, it really is something to sniff out for yourself!Shop local!They beat the regular big brand dog shops, dont believe me!? Stop in and find out for youself.Prices that are completley mind blowing.Thanks to The Happy Beast, we have one stop shop for oyr beloved corgi boy.Also instore there is a reward system on the food and few other things.Highly suggest!

I had a fantastic experience here! I recently adopted a challenging kitty and it was recommended to me to try some Beast Feast treats. Natalie at The Happy Beast was incredibly knowledgeable with suggestions for the new kitty’s treat routine, and toys to help get her tired. After less than a week I’ve noticed an improvement in troublesome behaviors and even my other kitty has become more accepting of our new family member. I am very appreciated and grateful!

Finding The Happy Beast right in our neighborhood a little over 3 years ago has been a blessing! This local, natural pet store has become our go-to for everything our dogs need, from healthy foods, treats and chews to toys, leashes, collars, beds and more.Their commitment to providing the highest quality foods for dogs aligns with our desire to offer our pups the best possible nutrition. The Happy Beast believes (and can share why!) in feeding as much non-processed food as possible (like raw, dehydrated, freeze-dried and air-dried food options); and we've seen the benefits firsthand. We have two dogs, both of which were foster fails, including one that arrived from a reservation in New Mexico in dire need of nourishment and a need to build a healthy gut foundation. The guidance and wisdom shared by Natalie and her team have been invaluable for our two pups & all the other puppies we've fostered over the last 3 years, each with their own unique set of needs.Additionally, I love how they offer locally sourced options for food, chews, toys, etc... and highlight where products are sourced, when providing options, as another factor to consider when thinking about purchases.The knowledge and passion Natalie and her team bring to their work are unmatched. They truly love what they do and are always eager to share options that meet our budget, educating us on the trade-offs without the pressure of breaking the bank. Their prices are not marked up, and they offer free recycling for any bags/containers from products you purchase from them.Our pups are incredibly healthy, vibrant and energetic, and we credit their diet as one of the most crucial factors behind this. The assurance that anything we purchase from The Happy Beast is safe for our pets gives us immense peace of mind. They've even started making many of their chews in-house, which is so cool!We are so grateful for The Happy Beast and their dedication to our pets' health and well-being. Two of my kids and I went here yesterday to pick up some birthday treats for one of our dogs. It was a very disappointing first visit and we will not be going back. First, we were hardly acknowledged when we walked in nor asked how they could help. This alone wouldn’t be cause for a negative review but it was just the beginning of our poor visit. There were two cats in the main part of the store roaming. My three year old son gently pet one of the cats and it was fine. When we went to check out he went back to pet the same cat and it bit him and made him bleed. My son did not make a scene but was very shook up by the event and was shaking/fighting back tears. When I picked him up at the register the woman working the check out, said absolutely nothing to me about it. After a little while, I said “the brown cat just bit my son”… her reply was “she’s old and sometimes doesn’t like to be pet”. I asked if the cat was up to date on its vaccinations and was told she was. My challenge with this whole encounter is that this cat should NOT be left out in a pet supply store if it exhibits these behaviors that are well-known. At a bare minimum, people should be warned of this cat’s behavior when they walk in. The lady working the check out exhibited zero concern for my son and barely offered an apology as we were walking out the door. It was so upsetting and disappointing. My son was very sad and said nothing on the drive home.

The only place I’ll go for quality, ethically sourced food for my fur babies. It’s important to me that animals that are used for food have a good quality of life, and these folks go the extra mile to ensure that’s the case. Love this place!

We’ve been on the hunt for a good pet food and supply store for a while. We are transitioning our puppy to a raw food diet and didn’t know where to start. Luckily for us, this store exists and…more importantly, the owner, Nathalie, was super awesome in helping us understand how to make the transition. She spent at least 45 minutes (maybe more 🤣) walking us through everything she had to offer, and explaining how to go about integrating raw food into our dog’s diet. We left feeling excited about our decision and relieved that we can offer our pup something other than dry kibble.Of note, we live an hour away from this store! We definitely think it’s worth the drive because Nathalie was gracious with her time and gave us a bunch of resources to further our raw food education. If you’re on the fence or curious, I wouldn’t hesitate on at least checking out The Happy Beast! Thanks Nathalie!

I've been to a number of pet supply stores between Boulder and Lafayette, and this one is, by far, the best. When I was transitioning my cat from dry food to canned to raw, I had a lot of questions and the owner spent a generous amount of time educating me, asking questions to understand my cat's situation further, and she stayed patient the whole time. Not even my vet experiences have been this good! Since then, I've called a few times with questions and I've consistently encountered knowledgeable, patient, and friendly staff. They also have a great selection of natural food options for cats, their prices are reasonable, and their return policy is fair. I only wish I lived closer, because I'm a 25 minute drive each way which prevents me from supporting this business as often as I'd like to.

I have been coming to this pet store for years but my review is gonna be based on my interaction the other day because I was absolutely taken back. I have young children under the age of 4. We all walked to the pet store to get the dog Some bones before the snow of course we use the restroom before we left but by the time. We got there which was quite a long walk My son had to use the restroom again he's 3. Had to use it so bad he was doing the dance in the store and asking if he could pee outside on the wall... I understand that most of these businesses don't allow public use of their restroom. But being he is a toddler and he was in so much distress. I asked if we could use their restroom and actually I did not say we I said can he. Pointing and looking at him doing his dance and holding himself. The lady told me no we don't have restrooms open to the public. I was so upset I grabbed him by the hand and walked directly next door to the veterinarian clinic and told them I apologize but my. Son needs to use the restroom so bad and we are right next door and they won't let us use their restroom. They said wow that's crazy of course he can. We used the restroom and then I walked back to that place to let them know how disappointed I was in that response. Now this does not affect the products they sell obviously and has nothing to do with the products they sell but the absolute Rudeness I'm not letting a toddler use use the restroom in that kind of situation. I should have let him pee on the wall like he was asking to do atleast it would have been outside. So disappointed I won't be returning.

Good for Happy Beast for having a sign hanging up explaining that they love puppies and that’s why they don’t sell them! It’s nice that they give back to our community by fostering cats. We regularly buy the No Hide Chews bc they are easy to digest and do a good job removing tartar from our dog’s teeth.

I visited this store in search of a very specific cat food recommended by my vet, and was so pleased with the care, attention, and information I was given by the very friendly and helpful staff.I will definitely be a longterm customer. They were honest, educated, and gave me some very helpful tips on how to transition my cat into a healthier diet. Highly recommend.

It pains me to say this because I have had a long standing relationship with The Happy Beast and sad to say that relationship is over due to experiencing rude and dismissive customer “service”. As a disabled mother, I require more help than others, and there have been countless times where I’ve needed car side pickup due to being unable to get into the store. Was very grateful for those times. Today was different. When I went in there I felt they acted annoyed I was there and appeared bothered to want to help me. I saw many staff members before the store manager finally said hi to me. Having gone there for a while, and gone through numerous staff, I never once saw them respond this way to any other customer and felt I received absolutely ridiculous ableist treatment from the staff. Grateful for a kind person who helped me outside the store during a moment of need. As a customer of years for all our animals, we unfortunately will not be returning.

This review has been a long time coming as I have been a customer of Happy Beast since they opened. What a fantastic pet store for all of your pet needs! The owner and staff are so knowledgeable, accommodating, friendly, and willing to work with you on ensuring that your pet is receiving the best from what they offer. The prices are extremely fair and if they do not have an item in stock, if they can, they will order for you ASAP. I am a HUGE fan of The Happy Beast and am so grateful that they are in Lafayette. The best pet store in the area. Owners are super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.Our cats were problem peeing around the house and we couldn't figure out why. Tried everything we could find. Nathalie recommend we change their diet and boom! The peeing instantly stopped. We call her first for all of our pet questions. She's amazing and has saved us hundreds in vet visits.They have good sales with meat of the month and a great customer loyalty program.

This place is great! Natalie and Chelsea are both very friendly and knowledgeable, and are always willing to answer the many questions I come in with. They regularly order specific things for me that they don’t have in the store and are flexible if my pup doesn’t like something. That being said, my dog typically loves all the treats and chews I get from here. Highly recommend to anyone with a cat or dog in the area.

I love this pet store! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and the selection is extensive. Lots of reasonably priced treats, toys, leashes, collars, food, etc. When my puppy had a UTI, I called and asked for recommendations. Sarah gave me multiple natural options to help and spent ten minutes advising me on how to address the issue. This store is 100% local and I am so happy that it’s in my community!

The Happy Beast is my friendly neighborhood go-to for anything dog related. Whether it's a comfy new harness, a bag of frozen bones or our regularly purchased bags of dog food, they have a wonderfully curated selection. I love supporting a local business that takes times to learn about my needs and addresses them accordingly. The staff is always helpful and courteous. We frequent the self-serve dog wash area in the back which is clean and always well stocked and it's such a great thing to have nearby.

The staff always remembers my dog's name even if he's not there with me. They seem knowledgeable about the food they sell and even helped my boyfriend figure out the proper amount of calories to feed his cat when we were underfeeding him. I appreciate the fact that their product line and general attitude leans towards sustainability. They also have a fair return policy on their food if your pet doesn't like it.

I’ve been shopping for our pets at The Happy Beast for years now. Natalie and her staff are always knowledgeable and friendly, and work to meet your needs in the best possible way for you furry family members. I can’t imagine what I would do without this incredible resource.Also, can’t spread enough appreciate for the do-it-yourself wash tubs in the back of the store. I wouldn’t dream of bathing my Great Dane at home (that’s a lot of wet dog smell in a little bathroom), and the tubs make it painless.
