Seriously the best local market and best meat counter in Colorado. Denver has nothing on this place. I always look forward to my next time there knowing it's the best meat locally sourced in quality and fair in price.And they have all kinds of niche brands from other states and suppliers that I would absolutely hand pick myself. We loved the location and assortment of products at Charlie’s. We were surprised at how much they had but loved looking around. The store was super clean, the location in La Veta is amazing, and the Cesar salad was legit delicious. The staff were great, the shelves were stocked, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We highly recommend Charlie’s! Disfruta/enjoy! 🥗🍳🏔️🌞

I grew up here. This is a wonderful Hometown grocery store. If you get a chance, go in and check out the ice cream soda fountain.

A quaint grocery store in downtown La Veta. It has a deli in the back that makes fresh bread. And a wide variety of groceries. They also have an old timey ice cream parlor stand. A great stop for last-minute camping needs. Prices are a bit more than average, but you're paying for convenience.

I would love to give this store a 5 star review. For the most part the staff was friendly and the ice cream was incredible.The guy that works in the deli however has the worst attitude I've encountered in a place of business. He was rude and very unpleasant when we tried to order our lunch. He was also very rude to other customers in line as well. Totally uncalled for!!! We will not be ordering anything if he is present.

Terrific small town grocery store with a full service deli and the best ice cream around. Truly a community gathering point and resource for events in the area. We stop here every time we go through La Veta. Friendly and helpful staff make every visit a pleasure.

Customer service here is horrendous. The young man behind the ice cream county has the personality and social skills of a rock. What should have been a quick stop for ice cream turned into a 20 minute ordeal. He told me I had to pay first so I went to the checkout to pay and while walking back over, he walks away. The lady and man at the checkout continued talking and taking stuff out of a cart while I stood there. I guess they think since they're the only game in town so they don't need to treat people with respect.

Will not recommend this establishment to family and friends or anyone else that inquires about it.We stopped for some ,what we hoped would be, a cold sweet icecream cup or cone .As we walked in an elderly couple walked out with their icecream cups in hand . As we approached the icecream bar the associate proceeded to walk away from behind the bar without a single word of acknowledgment. We were left standing there forquite some time before being told that the store would be closing in 4 min.This being while there were customers still shopping and some coming in. I'm not sure, but last time I checked money spends the same no matter what race ,or color one is .I have read some of the other reviews about how friendly and helpful the employees are ,apparently all that was lost with me and my family .Extremely disappointed !!

Apparently our money wasn't as good as the folks that came out as we walked in at the cream counter. We approached the counter immediately after they exited with their ice cream. The young man working behind the counter looked at us, saying nothing as he proceeded to remove his gloves and leave the counter. He then began to playfully argue with the other young man at the register about who was going to help or talk to us. I guess they decided as the first young man came and told us that they were closing and actually the entire store closed in 5 minutes (although there were a few other customers wandering the store). The closing hours isn't what was offensive, but the behavior of both young men was appalling. Seems that the employees here need some customer service training. The first young man could have politely addressed us immediately as we approached the ice cream counter to say they would no longer be serving customers. We won't be returning or recommending this business in the future.

Love to shop here and support small businesses when we stay at Circle the Wagons RV park. They have a little bit of everything and a great meat counter, and of course have to have an ice cream from the old Soda Fountain Bar.

I love this grocery store. As a private chef, this place is well stocked with those specialty items you may be missing... the butcher shop in back is well run by some friendly, helpful staff... check out the deli section there too!... there is fresh, scoop ice cream for you, anytime of the year... friendly checkout folks at the store’s front end... you can create some great meals out of this wonderful, little store!!... conveniently located on Main Street...

Produce area good fresh salads, treats & good deli. But as a local who can afford to shop here will no longer shop here as prices go up weekly! Its not about convenience its about greed. Its a shame as the locals are the ones who support small businesses in the off season as well as year around but not at these prices! eEven with gas prices high its cheaper to drive to Trinidad Walmart or Safeway. Ridiculous

Stopped in for something to eat. Left with wings from the deli, General Tso's. Wings were great. Also grabbed a big slice of German Chocolate cake plus a Coke. Help behind the deli counter was personable, friendly and quick. Store was clean. Can't go wrong here.

What a great selection for a small town neighborhood market. Nice butcher counter. Staff was super helpful. This was a pleasant experience an we were able to stock up on necessities while camping in the area. I recommend them highly.

Cute little hometown store in a quaint Colorado town, and still has the original marble ice cream counter from 1947! Good quality meats, and deli items. Delicious hot items and sandwiches daily. The best ice cream in Colorado, with generous portions!

We drove to this little town to eat at the Legends on Main; however, they were closed for the season. So we went to Charlie’s Market and they make fresh deli sandwich. We ordered our sandwiches and they hit the spot!

Employees at the Deli were very polite in assisting us with our sandwich order. Store was neat and orderly as a small town grocer should be. Reminded me of the grocery stores I went into with my mother as a child. Ate our sandwiches on park benches out side on the sidewalk. You must do this.

The attendants on the Rio Grande Senic recommended this place to us during the layover at La Veta. They made a great choice because the ice cream was amazing and the grocery store part was also well stocked. The soda fountain was also cool.
