This has -always- been the LAST place to go for hardware or lumber. It's where you go when you don't have time to go to Alamosa, and you're willing to pay double for the convenience. People new to the area think it's great compared to Texas and Cali prices, that's where a lot of those 5 star reviews come from. Locals know it's the most expensive place with the least selection. The women that work here are chronically snobby and rude, but the guys are always friendly and polite.

Very nice and helpful ladies. My husband sent me in to get a list. Funny, that's like me telling him to go to Clair's and giving him a list. He would not have a clue. I had no clue, but two ladies went out of their way to make certain I bought exactly what was on his list.

I moved back to the area in June and every time I've been there the staff has been friendly and knowledgeable. My dad and my uncle both did business with the LJ Trading Post and never had a single complaint! I agree with them!

1 consistently terrible employee - a goomah? - taints the entire experience. Why work in customer service if you're going to be rude to everybody? They tax everything & their quality isn't up to All-Pine standards, plus the disrespect? I would love to give them my money, they're local, but the higher prices, lower quality, & the terrible customer service, makes me drive 5 hours to any place else.

I've been doing business with the trading post for years. Prices are better than surrounding hardware stores in the area. Store is clean and employees are friendly and knowledgeable. Also they deliver lumber for a decent price in the valley. Also I've tried all hardware stores in the valley and la Jara trading Post has the straightest boards better not copped warped and have few knots.

Had wood pellets delivered to my house today. The delivery guy was so helpful! He helped me stack the bags, made sure no garbage blew into our yard, moved pallets so I didn't have to. It was freezing cold and windy. Thank you so much!

NOTICE: THIS BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENT IS NOT PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING, OR ENFORCING THE USE OF A MASK BY THEIR CUSTOMERS!!They don't have public restrooms because of the pandemic. Even for active customers. That's fine, but when you're reasoning IS the pandemic, and over HALF of the customers aren't wearing a mask, then maybe you should rethink your customer service priorities. I live an hour away, came to YOUR store to purchase something, and I can't use the bathroom. So I left, and will not go back

Somehow this place has the highest prices AND worst quality lumber I’ve seen. I’ve been to every lumber yard in the valley and this place is easily the worst. Owners/managers should be embarrassed. I live five miles away from the trading post, but I’ll drive to the other end of the valley rather than go here.

Poor customer service I had went in there today to buy some propane and stood there for 10 minutes why two Store clerks discussed over key set when a customer came up he helped him first because he was a regular then went back to help the girl with the keys made eye contact twice and still did not ask me if I needed help and then a second guy came up and was a regular and took care of him at one point then I said how come I'm being blown off when I've been standing here the 10 minutes and I haven't been asked if I needed help at which he said that he did not notice me when he made eye contact with me three times

The service here is horrible!!! The cashier was very rude. I didn't get the guys name but because of him I will not be returning here ever!!! He watched me wait at the wrong register for 20 min and dint say a word!!! And to make it worse everything here is over priced!!!
