Excellent community supporter, and advocate. Prices tend to be across the spectrum, with many items at or less than traditional grocery stores. High end items can indeed be high however. Staff is very helpful, friendly, and the peeps up front are very kind & knowledgeable! Excellent selection of natural and organic items as well!

We've been regular customers of KGS for decades and were worried when Brian told us that it was up for sale. To our delight, the new owners have been very kind and eager to please. They've continued to offer Brian's Good Eats burritos, which have become a staple in our household over the years. Try the new boba drinks too. We love KGS!

I stopped in there for my favorite expensive. 4 inch burrito and found out that It is now $7.75 Up $2.50-$3 and there is no more taco Tuesday, and the new owners are from India. Congratulations, Brian.

Super cute mountain store. They have everything you need from gas to grocery items, to coffee and deodorant 😉 they also have a small kitchen area where they offer tacos, quesadillas, and burritos. Being from south Texas our standards are super high when it comes to tacos but they were so pleasant, they get a 5 for effort 👌🏼

I’ve gone in several times since the new owners, (I live in Kittredge and have been going here for eight years) and unfortunately I’ll be going into Evergreen from now on. Loved this store under the old owner, but understand his need to move on. Everything is overpriced, staff no longer talks to ANYONE going inside and the place smells like a smoke shop with smoking paraphernalia everywhere. I also noticed one guy laying on a beanbag on the floor behind the counter. I asked him a question and he just stared at me.This is a small town where almost everybody knows everybody. You might want to start talking to your clientele and at least try to bring back the family friendly feel to the place.

The new owners are not friendly! They don't even try to build rapport with the long time customers and have raised the price on every item in the store. The burritos, Brian's original recipes that were included with the sale of the station, are smaller and inconsistent. I've purchased burritos for my family every Christmas for years and years. We went there tonight to get them and for the first time in I couldn't tell you how many years we will NOT be enjoying Brian's burritos for Christmas breakfast. SAD, this little wonderful store in the hills will not be on my radar anymore.

Edited to two stars: the store is under new management and I won’t be going anymore. Prices are much higher and I’m irritated that they put in an air machine. Not as friendly as the old staff either. It’s too bad. I used to love this store and its old crew.I moved to the neighborhood recently and this store is one of my new favorite places. Love the convenience of having this well stocked store and gas station down the hill from our house. And taco Tuesdays are now a thing at our house. We absolutely love their tacos!!! Great local store!

About the coolest Mountain General Store I have been to in the whole state. The variety of grocery items is pretty incredible and so is the variety of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. You must try Taco Tuesday and also the homemade burritos they sell. Everything is always so fresh and delicious. I believe the sign says they have sold over 300,000 of them! They are also very bicycle friendly.

My friends and I stopped by this store when we were going to do tourist stuff. As soon as we entered we were given a warm welcome by the store staff. Everything here is reasonably priced and the employees were so nice and helped us find whatever we needed. If you're passing through Kittredge and need to make a quick stop, I highly recommend stopping by the Kittredge General Store!

Had the most bizarre experience here! My husband and I were on a drive (separate cars-I had our 9 month old and he had our 2 year old). He needed gas-and I didn’t, so we put the nearest gas station into the gps. We both pulled in-I looked for a parking space, but didn’t see any legal spaces clearly painted anywhere in this tight station off a busy road, so I parked between 2 of the pumps, in a way to ensure that someone could pull in from either side and use either the pumps (my husband was actually able to pull his car behind mine and use the pump). We were the only 2 people at the gas station when we arrived. We tried filling his car up at one pump, but the credit card machine didn’t work so he moved to another. Someone comes out of the gas station and starts yelling at me through my window to move my car, being incredibly mean/degrading and telling me how rude I am for parking at the pump instead of in a space. Note, I strategically parked in such a way as to not block either pump, so I was confused by his rage entirely. Regardless, I profusely apologized while I scanned the parking area looking for a spot, still seeing nothing, and he continued to be rude and angrily walked back inside. Anyway, not sure why the guy couldn’t have just kindly re-directed me to a spot vs yelling at me and my 9 month old. I gladly always prefer to park in a legal space, but if your establishment doesn’t have any, or they are unmarked and not intuitively obvious, have that as a blip on your radar. We own two small businesses, so writing a review feels silly to me, but I’m glad to see that this doesn’t seem to be the norm. We by no means meant any ill will! Just another day of watching bad Denver attitudes infiltrate what used to be some great small town vibes.

Taco Tuesday! We're from out of town and were riding through on Motorcycles. Saw the Taco Tuesday sign and gave it a go. Good ingredients that were very tasty! Good guacamole. Kind staff that were very pleasant. A nice, unplanned excursion that made the day noteworthy. Recommend!!

Great staff and atmosphere! You'll want to stop here on your way, for gas, drinks and munchies. If it happens to be Tuesday, don't forget to get some of the best hand crafted tacos you can wrap your taste around - carnitas, chicken, or fish :P

Nicest staff! Every one of them. Also, one night I needed chicken broth, taco seasoning, sour cream and canned parmesan cheese and they had all of it. I was so surprised. :-) Being able to get decent lettuce and tomatoes and avos this summer in a pinch was also nice.

Taco Tuesdays are phenomenal here. I have the fish tacos (made from swordfish)... I actually schedule my hair appts on Tues so I don't miss out on the BEST FISH TACOS IN THE STATE. They have other tacos, too that are just as tasty.

Last summer I saw Brian (the owner) give some money to a backpacker that was making his way across the US. His breakfast burritos are awesome and Taco Tuesdays are excellent, but good hearts are always most impressive to me.

True community hub. Brian is every bit as generous a soul as he is a fantastic cook (breakfast burritos and Taco Tuesdays are destination food). Examples: He collects money to help struggling locals, hosts annual tri-tip barbecues (Santa Maria represent!), and hires awesome people. Kittredge wouldn't be Kittredge without KGS.
