It’s really sad to see a cool local company be optimized for profit over community and lose its focus on customer experience, brand, and personality… I would not have hesitated to give this place 5 stars because of how they were operated and set up with a focus on customer experience… from the cookies and coffee in the lobby to the moving truck offered at move-in to the fair cost for insurance. Instead, it seems they’re no longer local, have gotten rid of all the unique local feeling perks, nearly doubled the prices for insurance on the units, gotten rid of the free month, and made their prices higher with the lower promo prices that expire. Overall this has become another corporate entity where making a profit isn’t enough, it needs to be absolutely optimized to extract every single cent from its customers and that’s sad to me as one of its very formerly appreciative customers. Really… I get the truck but you could’ve kept the cookies and coffee. I loved that perk. I will no longer be recommending this place to friends and family.

I started renting from Blue Mountain Storage in November of 2022, because it had great reviews, amazing staff and realistic policies. NEVER had ANY problems. Until Extra Space super corporation took over.My s/o had a stroke right before they took over back a few months ago. Making my invole the only one so I feel behind on my storage payment , bu ALWAYS pay it couple weeks late since the stroke. We no longer live in the area of the storage facility, and came in December to sign new lease, ECT find out the details of any changes with the storage facility. Upon arrival, the manager Andrea, was there, but in a tizzy over the security doors, bragging about how she tripped the security doors, and intentionally sent the Johnstown police on a wild goose chase to find her thru the 3 floor facility. 👀😮 I tried to speak with her the. About new policies ECT. Come to find out, our storage locker price increases with no notice by $16 a month, as well as their payment policy had changed. They have a $20 late fee charge, fine, understandable. Said manager, NEVER provided a new lease for me to sign with these new policies. What I was NOT made aware of, was that if your late on your payment, ON TOP OF A $20 LATE FEE, they lock you out of your locker at 6days late! I never agreed to this or was not made aware of this change. DROVE 3 HOURS TO drop a few things off and take care of my bill, TO FIND OUT I WAS LOCKED OUT and said manager was not there, and refused to answer phone calls. So, I promptly moved my stuff out, found a locker just as secure, twice the size of my old one, and the same price. 😁Long story short, stick with your locally owner not corporate run facilities. Lesson learned staying with them on e they took over a once awesome company, blue mountain storage.

Andrea at Extra Space Storage in Johnstown, CO goes above and beyond in regards to customer service. She is professional, prompt, knowledgeable and solutions oriented. I highly recommend this Company and their locations, especially in Johnstown, CO (Andrea) for all of your storage needs.

↪️ UPDATE - A couple of months after posting this original review I moved my stuff out of Extra Space Storage. The person who is working there is absolutely clueless...if she's ever even there. I gave my notice mid January that I would no longer be renting a unit there. Was told as long as I was out of the unit by the end of the month I wouldn't be charged and my automatic payment was turned off. Received an email from Extra Space about my move out and what to expect next...including a confirmation email once I moved out. That email was followed by a payment reminder email for February. Really?! I was moved out by January 27th. Spoke to the woman that works there twice that day...once to ask about the payment reminder email and the other to tell her I was out of the unit. By February 1st I had not received the move out confirmation email. Opened the storage unit app which still showed my unit, etc. The woman that works there never marked me as moved out. I had to call her and confront her about it. Then magically the move out confirmation email showed up, showing a move out date of 02/01. Wrong! And, of course, my unit no longer showed up in the app after that. She's either completely clueless or very intentional in not doing her job correctly.I've been renting a unit at Blue Mountain Storage for only a month. I chose the facility because it's fairly close, indoor and clean, secure, and locally owned. Over the last week I've been trying to get a hold of them because I had a question about my account and payment. Called. Called again. Called again and left a message and didn't hear anything back. Finally went to the location only to find out that Extra Space Storage is taking over. Two utterly clueless people were at the facility and had nothing to offer beyond it's now Extra Space Storage. Literally no information has been sent to renters. Nothing about the take over, info about account management and payments, etc. And, no one answers when you call. They can get their Google listing updated and website to show the location, but zero communication with existing customers. Honestly, the responsibility is on both Blue Mountain and Extra Space.

Kristina at BlueMountain Storage in Loveland was great to work with… super friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful! WRT my storage unit, so far so good. I appreciate that everything is remote and digital, too. It makes my life easy for property management. Plus, the units and indoor spaces are always clean. I would definitely recommend them.

NEW EDIT: What an absolute mess this place is. I noticed that my autopay did not come out. Annoying. I had to research myself (no sort of notice given, whatsoever) to find that a new company was managing or bought out the facility? More annoying. Finally, went to go make a payment and my payment amount increased. Super annoying. What's with the lack of communication? I am honestly not even sure if it's legal to charge me more without some sort of notice? I went online to send an email and can't find anywhere to do so. Started a chat with "the next available associate" *queued up to help* me... No one ever showed.EDIT: I was promptly contacted by BMS regarding my review and they were apologetic regarding both the recent rent increase and my not being contacted after initially reaching out. I was very impressed with the professionalism, timeliness and understanding I was met with after leaving my review, which is why I am back so soon editing it. While it is not ideal having to leave a negative review in order to get noticed, it does help immensely to be contacted by two separate employees to address my concerns and help the situation, overall. Thank you all!INITIAL REVIEW: I moved into my unit in May of 2022 for $141. Only a month or two later, my rent increased $16 and, as of July 1st, will be increasing another $15. Sure, the storage facility has great amenities, however, I didn't choose a storage facility because it has coffee and/or cookies during the operating hours. Not only am I working during those times, but I don't think I would find myself frequenting the facility anyway; it is, after all, a storage unit. Regardless of amenities, a $31 increase in 14-months (more than 20%) is outrageous...Moreover, I contacted them a little over a week ago because of my dissatisfaction with the price increase and was never contacted in response. If it wasn't a hassle and complete waste of my time, I would absolutely be relocating.

Absolutely amazing - the best storage facility (and customer service), that I’ve ever seen!! The lobby and lounge has drinks, cookies, etc to grab. There’s dollys, moving carts, pallet jacks, etc - everything you could need to move in and out. They have two loading docks to unload your truck easier. They have music and LED lighting throughout. My large (10x25) unit has its own light switch and own lights. It’s so clean it looks brand new also!!I even had the option to rent shelf units to put inside my unit. I rented SEVEN 5-tier shelf units for an incredibly small monthly fee to put along the wall of my unit for optimized storage and organization. SEVEN! Times 5 levels per shelf means that’s 35 different shelves to put all my boxes and totes on and keep the unit neat and half a walkway!What else…. Oh the entire place has state of the art smart lock system that is ran through an app, so you can unlock your unit, the loading dock doors, and any other door you may need access too (except other peoples units of course). You just hit a button on your phone and the unit/door opens.They have clean bathrooms, filtered cold water bottle fill up station. They offer package delivery services and can accept your packages for you.THEY HAVE A MOVING TRUCK YOU CAN USE FOR FREE WITHON 30 DAYS OF RENTING A UNIT! AND ONLY $39/DAY THEREAFTER!!! The amenities go on and on and on, just like this review haha, but they deserve all the praise because hands down best storage unit I’ve ever had no contest.And to top it all off the office worker (KRISTINA) was just the most helpful and nicest person I’ve interacted with at any business, not just a storage facility, for as long as I can remember! She even offered to move the seven shelf units into my storage unit for me before I came back with my moving truck so they’d be ready for me! Seven, 6-ft tall, 5 tier shelf units, moved into my storage unit for me…what?! Who does that?!? KRISTINA that’s who!Thank you so much for everything Kristina you definitely made me feel welcome today, and you and this facility definitely blew every expectation I had out of the water. I am so glad I went with Blue Mountain because I don’t ever see myself being able to settle for a unit that’s anything less than this insanely high bar that Blue Mountain has set!I never write reviews but Blue Mountain and especially Kristina deserve all the recognition possible. Thank you so much!!!

From my initial booking online, to getting everything moved in, the process was made so easy. I worked with Matt who was very nice and extremely helpful in getting all the paperwork taken care of, as well as when I needed to utilize the moving truck they have available. He was also there to assist me when I accidentally locked my phone in the unit and I was able to retrieve it right away with his help. I had searched a few different places before choosing Blue Mountain Self Storage and I am so glad I went with them. The cleanliness, the security and the customer service are all 5 stars!

We've moved and put things in several storage units these past few years. This is definitely the nicest storage facility we've ever used. Kristina was amazing in assisting us with getting set up and accommodating our cross-country shipping POD drop off/pick up logistics - thx thx you! Very highly recommend!

Kristina was so helpful and friendly throughout the rental process. The dock was great to use as well. Was able to back the Uhaul truck right up to it and unload it very easily. All around a great experience! Would and will recommend to anyone that needs a storage unit.

I’m at Blue Mountain storage units up to 3 times a week due to my job and I love it! The facility and bathrooms are kept so clean, the music is great, and Matt is so kind and helpful!! I feel very safe working there alone too due to the locked entrances and employees in the building. He has gone above and beyond for the company I work for many times! THANK YOU MATT!!!

When I moved to Colorado I stored here. The staff was friendly. But my unit was on the 3rd floor and it required a lot of maneuvering to get to my things. It's clean and climate controlled, but I decided to move my things to a place all on the ground floor. It's just easier!

This place is so nice! The prices are comparable to other indoor climate controlled options in town. But it's very high tech you use your phone as a key to every door. Right across from the police station so super safe. Right off the interstate so conveniently located. But the employees really make the place! Arianna was amazing she was so helpful and super kind! She definitely made the experience. They have flat carts and luggage carts and dollies and even a moving truck like a big uhaul size to use for free when you move your stuff in! 10/10 would recommend! Oh and honored the military discount! Very impressed can't say enough good things!

I used them for about 18 months and they have the best accommodations from rolling carts to dollies to loading dock. you really cant ask for much more. they do offer use of there truck for a fee which really separates them from other facilities, even when my rate went up a small bit it was still better than other storage places around Loveland/Johnstown. keep up the good work and if i need storage i will definitely be back.

Setting up my unit at Blue Mountain storage was quick and easy. I was helped by Matt who was super sweet and helpful. He was also very thorough but concise about the orientation information including a tour, how to use the virtual services, and tools to make moving in less painful. Matt was awesome. Blue Mountain also has a clean and professional environment that I really appreciate.

This place is amazing! We are very particular about our stuff but we feel so comfortable with Blue Mountain Storage because it is all so clean. I love how secure it is and how each unit is controlled by the renter. It is very well thought out. It is so easy to move things in and out either by the front door or the loading dock. Plus they have furniture dollies and carts that work great. We used the moving truck they have for their renters on many occasions and it was great too. Honestly the people have been the best part of the experience. They are so friendly, helpful and professional. We were fortunate to work with Samantha and she is so efficient and sweet. We would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a storage unit.

The building is always clean and it's one of the only storage units we've never had a rodent issue with so that is greatly appreciated! What initially brought us here was the 3 months free rent which sounded great but now I understand how they do that. In less than a year our rent has gone up 3 times. We started out paying $129 and we are now at $198 it's just gotten ridiculous and out of hand. Just finished setting up at a rental at a new location less than half the price with double the positive reviews. It's unfortunate because it is a nice space. The elevators do seem to be an issue. It seems only the left one works and when we tried to go to the third floor the third floor button wasn't working and the right elevator would not open. After about 10 minutes of trying to send one up, going back and forth to get the other to open finally somehow it worked. Unfortunately the office was closed so we were on our own.
