I had a vaccination appointment but was barked at by the pharmacist saying it wasn’t in her system, but then she said they had time anyway. After telling her I would be paying out of pocket she very condescendingly let me know “how expensive” that would be and openly treated me like I couldn’t afford it, ultimately making me pay in advance. The person who actually gave me the shots was kind and friendly but the older lady needs some training on her customer service skills!

Jennifer and Richard in the Pharmacy are helpful, caring, and very kind to my wife and I. We are new to the town and appreciate how they treated us.Desirae, a checker/stocker also welcomed us, helped us, and made/makes our shopping trips enjoyable.Great staff makes the difference.

For a small town grocery store pretty good selection, out of stock sometimes. Pharmacy staff are always excellent! Only major complaint the bathrooms are always very dirty.

Hardly any baked goods which was a bummer, but the lady was awesome!! She brought out the BEST jalapeño cheddar bagels ever!Also, the bathrooms were nasty. 🤢

Attention travelers!! This is not the only grocery store in the mountains! I guarantee if you are using Google maps, you will find a more suitable grocery store closer to where you are staying (Frisco, Breckenridge, Steamboat, Silverthorne, Dillon, Winter Park, Vail: all these towns have a store nearby) and I highly recommend shopping there.

Desirea is the best. I'm Mexican and have never been able to past the self checkout with out some sort of alarm going off. Desirea has talked to someone and I now can use the self checkout like any average José or should I say Joé?..... Gracias Desirea.

This is a clean store. The groceries were properly stocked and on display for customers to make a selection. I couldn't find a small container of milk for my two year old twins. I had to go with a larger one.This store is smaller than the ones in Denver, Colorado which I can understand. I appreciate it being there. It helps families get some items that they need while in the area. The chocolate chip cookies taste the same as they do at Denver locations. That's good for business. They meet expectations of customers who love their cookies. I'm one of them.The store was easy to navigate. One of the self-checkout machines was down. The parking lot was decent and clean. The shopping carts were readily available. The staff was respectful and kind. They smiled as if they wanted to be there versus having to be there to pay rent.

Unfortunately, this is the ONLY grocery store for all of Clear Creek County. As such, they are constantly out of milk and other basics a lot. I really believe some restaurants use this store to stock up, as I have seen someone standing in line with a full cart of nothing but the whole milk gallons and a few half gallon carts, which emptied the shelves I had just searched. Maddening, absolutely maddening. They had just restocked too, so it will be a while before they can restock. So then, we have to go to Evergreen. I don't know why Idaho Springs has this issue, but they do. Bummer

I love that there is a large chain grocery fairly close to Black Hawk. They mostly have what I need. HOWEVER, now that self check stands have been brought in, there is NEVER an employee run check out lane open. I do not want to checkout my own groceries when I have a cart full. Today I was told a checkout lane could not be opened because there was only one person working the front and he was to solely monitor the self check lane and that the other person was on break for 20 more minutes. Now see him checking out a woman with many bananas, but refuses to checkout anyone else. This needs to be remedied, there needs to always be one employee run checkout lane open!

We recently visited this Safeway whilst RVing through the state. Whilst the store was brilliant, the staff friendly and the experience great - we left the store and were in the car park where we were scammed by a violinist who was pretending to play the instrument. His wife/partner came and rudely asked us for money whilst holding a sign. We would have happily donated to the violin, however we felt that the store security should have moved the travellers onwards from the car park, as it really detracted from our great experience in the store and the town.

This store gets packed at times and patience is necessary, but I-70 has the same issue. The big difference? Most of the drivers lack patience and are just plain mean! This Safeway is full of extremely nice people that have patience. Good example: The Grocery Manager/ASL, Jeff Campbell, helped me with a task that needed patience. I had used the wrong type of payment on groceries... He gave me a refund on all my groceries, and scanned all of the barcodes again so I could use the correct payment. It Easley took around 10 minutes of his time, but he never acted annoyed or put out. Instead he was kind and extremely helpful. Everyone there always treats me kindly, and I can honestly say it's my favorite grocery store.🧡

I’m here 3-4 times a week because I work in town and what’s the point of having self checkout if they’re closed or down every single morning and I still have to stand and wait for a cashier to notice me for 5 minutes.STOP CLOSING DOWN SELF CHECKOUT OR HIRE SOME ACTUAL HELP.

Small town grocery store that served its purpose for us on a recent trip to Idaho Springs when we didn't feel like eating out again. Some shelves were completely empty, and some things I just simply put back on the shelf after looking at the prices. Seemed like EVERYTHING in the store was cheaper if you were a member of their loyalty/store program, and the cashier was nice enough to let me enter in a phone number to save some $.

The Employe never have or are running the check outs and this red head girl that works there is very rude and doesn’t know where anything is in the store and follows you to make you uncomfortable horrible experience. bussin chicken though. Didn’t let my friends even check out with me

Self checkout clerks were the worst. A light skinned Black woman was at this post today. I regret that I do not recall her name, but she looked like mid 50s for ID purposes. I do not care about race. I only mention in hopes that it will help mgmt ID her for coaching purposes.1) Moves at sloth speed.2) Bad attitude3) Asks irrelevant questions4) Can't find my DOB on my ID. I show her and tell her 1976. "Oh. 1979" ??????5) Apparently touch screens are new to her. Nails too long to operate. Not aware that skin must make contacts.6) Gives me attitude when I ask if I can enter the DOB, and wouldn't let me.I wouldn't fire her over this, but her performance is terrible and needs work from her manager.

This place is a 3 star grocery store. They have most things you want. I personally shy away from the meats and dairy because they don't stay on top of the dates. The deals on beer are actually really good if you buy two 12 packs.The produce is nice, freezer food is fine and pantry items are of course fine. Baked goods and flowers are nice, it seems like the things done in-house are good quality. I have not tried the chicken but it always smells good. I still check dates on everything because before I started doing that I took home lots of expired goods.There are no nearby other options so I come here whenever in a pinch, but I do find it worthwhile to drive to other areas occasionally and stock up at better stores with more selection and less expired goods.

I bought Colorado peaches here to take home to Nebraska with me. Nice store. About anything you could want.We were in the 15 items or less line with half a dozen people behind us waiting . . .Because the lady in front of us decided it was ok to go through that line with an extremely full cart of groceries. $258.04 to be exact.How hard would it have been to tell her to go to the proper line?

I am not sure why Safeway has hired two teenage girls with attitudes to run the pharmacy. They are slow, rude, eye rolling. The red head young pharmacist and the brown hair teenage tech were literally whispering and laughing at me. It was so obvious. I am honestly scared what medicine they are even giving me. On the reviews on safe pharmacy, others have complained how slow they are. I have lived in Idaho Springs and used this pharmacy for 13 years. I am switching to evergreen even thou it will be inconvenient until these two girls are fired or quit, which I’m sure will be soon for how unprofessional they are.
